  1. That‘s the same thing we thought this year, and ended up with an assortment of Batmen and Jokers Plus the Batcave of course, but that‘s a D2C. I’m cautiously optimistic, but not expecting much, to be honest. At this point, any character that isn‘t Batsy, The Joker, or Harley can be considered a win
  2. Red Hood neither has green or two-coloured hair, nor is he named after a flying animal, so nope, he stands no chance
  3. The D2C set this year is a piranha plant for $70, scheduled to release in November
  4. We don‘t actually know that yet. For all we know, some of the sets from the survey leak might only release in 2025 (or never). The sail barge definitely looked less refined than some of the other sets from that leak, but we‘ll see
  5. Since the minifig list is already known (Sam, Frodo, Sauron, orcs), we can rule that out. Unless you expect 19+ orcs to be included (Assuming the description was finalised, of course. Maybe the final set, if it gets made, will include additional minifigs like Gollum.)
  6. Oh, I didn't even think about that! Considering they redesigned virtually every old specialised LOTR piece for the Rivendell set, I would assume the orc hairpiece won't make a return. Maybe the goblin hairpiece from HP might work? I'd rather have a new piece than that, but we'll see
  7. I see your point, but the Ninjago City sets aren‘t based on anything pre-existing, so those can easily be displayed on their own. I highly doubt anyone would buy a D2C set with some of the „lesser“ DA shops unless they already own one or both of the other sets. They’re just not as iconic as those two IMO
  8. Eh, I‘m not buying it. It‘s certainly possible that they‘re releasing sets in less than four months based on a show that hasn‘t even been announced yet, but I doubt it. Maybe in the summer wave. These two could depict made-up scenarios
  9. Neither the hairstyle nor the colour match. I actually prefer the official version, since that‘s at least a better match when it comes to the style
  10. Thank you for bringing this beautiful, unholy abomination of a concept into our lives Though when I hear „venomarine“, the first thing I think of is a submarine with venom‘s face on it. But let‘s not give them any ideas
  11. Uh oh Probably best to keep expectations low for this one.
  12. I think that was a hint towards her latest video At least I hope so, a year with three unlicensed CMF series would be a horrible decision in my eyes.
  13. That makes sense Retiring DA only a year after introducing Gringotts would have been a huge mistake.
  14. Honestly, I really doubt it. DA had the appeal of featuring the most prominent shops (besides Gringotts) and Gringotts has, well, Gringotts, plus the underground section and the dragon. Another add-on would be desirable, but that would lack the iconicity of the other two and DA will have reached its EOL by then, making the whole exercise a bit pointless for newcomers. An add-on for the new WWW on the other hand...
  15. That‘s not how that works. CMF series have the highest budget for any LEGO product bar none, and 100% of it goes into the minifigs, because that‘s the entire product. Other themes have to balance their budgets between new pieces, recolours, and prints for the actual builds across multiple sets, and then the minifigs on top of that. And as has been pointed out before, CMF minifigs have a very short shelf life whereas UCS sets are in production for years. So storing space for the pieces is also a factor. Plus, the point of a UCS set is, well, the set The minifigs are supposed to be neat extras. They‘re not the main attraction, as opposed to a CMF series.
  16. That may not sound like much, but it’s adding up quickly if you’re insan… I mean a passionate collector. I ended up scanning 698 manuals, so it was worth it for me What mad(d)ness is this? Mine won’t arrive before next Friday
  17. Wait, what? I followed the situation pretty closely back then and I had no idea they even did that That is actually hilarious, considering that the minifig now goes for over $800 on Bricklink And here I thought I massively overpaid when I got mine early on for $200. Exactly. Stability issues require fixing, but fans throwing a hissy fit over a minifig does not.
  18. With the ongoing strikes, there’s no way Andor S2 won’t be delayed to 2025. If the set gets made, it certainly won’t release next year You cannot compare a CMF figure to one from a set. The budget of CMF series is on a completely different level
  19. Well, I’m not saying that’s what I’d want, just pointing out the possibility
  20. I could see them releasing the Knight Bus or the Flying Ford as large-scale models. Then we have more icons (Sword of Gryffindor, some of the horcruxes) and creatures (Basilisk, Aragog). And there’s unfortunately always a chance they start to do remakes of D2Cs
  21. As much as I dislike the idea of yet another Flying Ford, which has now pretty much become this theme’s Luke’s Landspeeder, I’m glad some people like it Being a completionist (sort of) sucks a bit sometimes
  22. The last SD worked just fine without magnets, so I don’t see why they would bring that terrible outdated solution back for the Venator Also, they don’t use magnets anymore outside of train sets because the round ones from the 90s were incredibly dangerous for small kids
  23. While opening the bays would have been a nice feature, I don’t think they could’ve done it without sacrifing stability, so they made the right choice.
  24. The current bigfig design with (re)movable head has only been introduced two years ago Jk jk, I know you mean the hunched-over design. I don‘t see them changing that anytime soon though, as it‘s been established for more than ten years now. It‘s not exactly akin to changing the classic minifig design, but many people still grew fond of it. Personally, I wouldn‘t want it changed.
  25. I highly doubt Hulk won‘t be a bigfig since that‘s what all the leakers have been saying. The rumours being untrue would be very disappointing, but a backlash forcing them to redo the set? Nah, that ain‘t happening in a million years. They simply wouldn’t spend a ton of money on designing a new part (Hulk‘s hairpiece), creating the Thanos body in a new colour, and changing the instructions as well as the boxart, just to appease some fans online. Or has the infamous 2021 Gunship „backlash“ forced them to replace the Clone Commander with a pilot or Cody?
