  1. That‘s beside the point. Releasing a set with Boba Fett riding a Rancor, joining forces with a badass Wookiee bounty hunter, fighting against Cad Bane and a cool-looking XXL droideka is like printing money, regardless of how popular the show was
  2. Indeed. Even if Superman Legacy does well, they‘re not immediately gonna rush out sets based on the other DCU movies. However, they don‘t have to. One set for the „smaller“ movies and 2-3 for the tentpoles should be enough I think At least for the beginning. We shall see where it goes
  3. Oh whoops, I misread your comment
  4. Still. Try to imagine placing one of the Quinjet models on a platfom atop the Bugle and you‘ll see why this wouldn‘t work Sure, there are MOCs out there that accomplished this, but those would cost A LOT more
  5. I‘m convinced they‘ll go with a new piece since the old mould surely was retired along with most of the others. It‘s pretty amusing though that some pieces introduced for LOTR have stuck around since, like the One Ring, the Hobbit hair, and more surprisingly, the Uruk-hai sword And yeah, the prospect of it being dual-moulded is pretty sweet It‘s so sad the theme was retired just when dual-moulding arrived on the scene. As the Rivendell set demonstrates, LOTR is a theme that greatly benefits from having dual-moulded pieces
  6. …that would be out of scale to a degree beyond comical. All of the Quinjets (except for the CA:CW one) have a pretty sizeable footprint, which would almost require a landing pad the size of a baseplate. Not only would it look supremely silly, it would also be severely unstable Unless the set includes a downsized Quinjet in the same vein as the Y-Wing in this year‘s Yavin IV set, of course.
  7. This is actually a really good point. Any other theme would likely have ended a long time ago. Given all the DC flops recently (besides The Batman), it's remarkable the theme is still alive While I like to poke fun at the three Batman vs Joker sets this year, they're at least well-designed. And yeah, Gunn needs to be successful with his reboot, or else it might still be curtains at some point.
  8. Some of my favorites are the Scarif Stormtrooper (specifically the one with the kama), Range Trooper, FO Stormtrooper (TLJ/TROS), Flametrooper, Death Trooper, and Artillery Stormtrooper Had they made a Purge Trooper (either version) or an Incinerator Trooper, they would've joined my list too
  9. You mean the 2023 Quinjet? No way. This is a $500 set, not a $5000 one
  10. That would be the absolute best case scenario in my book. And there‘s inevitably going to be a sizeable gap. Skeleton Crew likely won‘t get more sets for the time being (if ever), Andor S2 will most likely be pushed back to 2025, and The Acolyte will probably take Andor‘s autumn spot, leaving a huge gap in the summer. Perfect for 2021 2HY volume 2!
  11. Thank you for sharing the article! I wasn‘t aware of it Sounds very encouraging, so fingers crossed they‘ll deliver on these promises! Given that set development lasts roughly a year and it sounds like they didn‘t get to see a lot of concept art from the S3 finale in advance, it now makes perfect sense there‘s no Mando stuff in 1HY besides Grogu‘s Escape. Well then, once again, the 2HY sets will blow the 1HY offerings out of the water Same goes for Ahsoka, I suppose. I wonder why they‘re being so much more secretive with the shows compared to the movies. Okay, I get it with Grogu and Luke, but there was no real reason to keep Gideon, the beskar troopers, and the preatorian guards that much of a secret
  12. I will never understand why they skipped that One of the biggest missed opportunities in recent memory. It‘s like passing on a money printer
  13. I wasn't talking about the diorama, it was a reference to the 2020 Final duel set, which was a pointless remake of the 2015 version and should have been an Exegol set instead Had such a set been planned for that summer (like the Snoke throne room set in 2018), it would have been designed well before the movie came out.
  14. That, and a set or two based on the final two episodes of Mando S3 If they can deliver that, I will consider 2024 a good year for LSW.
  15. Releasing a Rebels Chimaera instead of an Ahsoka one would be a certified „bruh “ moment. Sort of like releasing a Death Star final duel set instead of an Exegol one. Wait a minute…
  16. Sign me up! DC fans are eating wel… I mean, not starving next year Seriously though, next year better be better than this year
  17. Yes. We could get four Batman vs Joker sets. That’s as many as two twos. And that‘s terrible.
  18. True, but I‘m glad we‘re finally getting a new Wasp minifig, even though it doesn‘t make much sense to include it in this set Personally, I‘m pretty happy with the minifig selection, even though there‘s only one new character. Definitely looking forward to the new Hulk, Ultron, Wasp, and Iron Man figures the most
  19. Um, where does this delay rumour even come from? All we currently know is that SC is not premiering this year, as initially planned. I‘ve seen nothing to suggest that long of a delay
  20. I meant live-action shows Even with an end of the strike getting closer (fingers crossed), Andor S2 will definitely be delayed and I think The Acolyte also hasn‘t finished filming yet. Those two getting delayed is inevitable, but I fail to see why Skeleton Crew should be pushed back more than a couple of months. It has long finished filming after all and the strikes don‘t affect post-production.
  21. How exactly do pre-existing prints affect the parts budget? You know what does affect the budget? New prints for four villains
  22. That doesn‘t make any sense. Why would it be delayed for more than a year? Also, that would mean there are no new shows in 2024
  23. Nope, just a mistake. It's a reference to this set The numbers (Roman numerals) are references to all four Gringotts sets TLG have released
  24. Promobricks released an interesting article about the design process of the Rivendell set: https://www.promobricks.de/designer-vortrag-bruchtal/ Three of the set‘s designers held a presentation at the Skaerbaek fan weekend, and the article above provides a summary. Looks like the people that suggested a microscale model were not far off, because that‘s exactly what the first version was! They even brought that prototype with them to the event While it was a great model in its own right, I‘m glad they redesigned it to be minifig-scale.
  25. Ah, the classic „if it weren‘t for [repeat minifigs], we could‘ve had [requested minifig with new prints/pieces]!“ argument Not really how that works. There‘s no rules saying this set has to include 22 minifigs. Had they decided against featuring Chitauri, we likely would‘ve gotten either outriders in their place, or simply 18 figures in total. Sure, your complaint about the lack of major villains (besides Ultron) is valid, but you cannot blame it on the inclusion of Chitauri Edit: Ninja‘d by @THELEGOBATMAN
