  1. Kinda weird to see a regular sword in the SW universe, but it looks pretty cool nonetheless! Maybe it’s just a large vibro-dagger Presumably he‘s gonna use it in the arena?
  2. Well yeah, a 50th anniversary is definitely more special than a 40th or even a 25th, but my point is that we shouldn‘t expect much, not that they won‘t do anything Personally, I‘ll be happy with a bonus of sorts thrown into sets plus a D2C dedicated to ANH. A ANH-centric wave would be pretty lame since we regularly get sets based on it anyway. I think HP is a good example of how it should be done: the first movie celebrates its 25th anniversary next year but since PS is already highly prevalent almost every year, there‘s „only“ an 18+ set and a small playset to tie in with that movie specifically, while the other sets draw inspiration from multiple films with the patroni serving as an anniversary bonus. I like @Mandalorianknight‘s idea with the McQuarrie designs the best. It celebrates SW history in a very unique way and is specifically tied to ANH without reiterating what‘s been done to death already ^^
  3. Seems like my initial guess was correct and Tahu & Lloyd are the only „named“ minifigs in the series then Hopefully we get more hints soon as to what the „regular“ minifigs will be!
  4. Exactly my point. They do acknowledge movie anniversaries with special bricks, a logo on the package, and tie-in sets here and there, but never a full dedicated wave like new movies are getting ^^
  5. 2019: Oh boy, they’ll make a TPM anniversary wave! *womp womp* 2020: Oh boy, they’ll make a TESB anniversary wave! *womp womp* 2022: Oh boy, they’ll make a AOTC anniversary wave! *womp womp* 2023: Oh boy, they’ll make a ROTJ anniversary wave! *womp womp* 2025: Oh boy, they’ll make ROTS and TFA anniversary waves! *womp womp* 2027: Oh boy, they’ll make a ANH anniversary wave! *womp womp* Anniversary waves based on a single movie aren’t a thing, people
  6. Lloyd is also rumoured to be included! Both Bonkle and Ninjago have their anniversaries next year, so Tahu and Lloyd could simply be included to celebrate them, but this could also be seen as a sign that the entire series is based on classic themes
  7. Exactly. ANH constantly gets set representation anyway, and it’d be way more interesting to celebrate 50 years of SW as a franchise, not just ANH My personal wish is a bunch of sets across the entire saga with a celebratory gimmick. I know some people don’t care for them, but I would love golden minifigs for instance ^^ Special minifigs like last year make more sense for a LSW anniversary specifically.
  8. One of the S29 minifigs is allegedly based on Tahu from Bionicle! Could it be a series based on older themes? Kinda seems too random for a regular series!
  9. The production of a third version of the sticker sheet has been confirmed! Now the 2nd version will likely become a collectors item due to its short-livedness
  10. Narrator: TLG did not care about the theme The movie definitely would have set potential if DC was still a theme. It’s a literal Batman theme now though
  11. Kinda funny how divided opinions on this year’s AC are. People either seem to think it’s one of the best or one of the worst (especially commenters on brickset, but those guys hate almost anything that isn’t Classic Space or Castle anyway) To me, it’s easily the best, and not just because of Babu friggin Frik. Themed and location-based ACs are my favourites (like the HP ones often are), and it’s nice to see SW giving that concept a shot! I don’t mind the microbuilds, but it’s refreshing to see a SW one devoid of them for once As for modular location sets: I don’t dislike the concept, but with SW, I don’t see the benefit of spreading things out like that. I’d rather have a complete Jabba’s Palace for instance rather than parts of it spread across multiple sets. It works for HP, sure, but Hogwarts is THE location there so it makes sense to have so many sets. Each SW location is only one of many, and I wouldn’t want a single location to hog multiple set slots It worked in 2003, but SW is so much larger now!
  12. If we’re lucky, they’ll show up again in a Battle at the Department of Mysteries set at some point! ^^ I hope they’ll also reuse the Death Eater’s head from the Gringotts set at some point. That one is pretty tricky to get a second copy of
  13. My guess is the following: A Hogwarts expansion (Clock Tower or Astronomy Tower) Chamber of Secrets. I have a feeling this one could come without a castle section on top this time, like the 2002 set. Flourish & Blotts or a small-scale Gringotts as the next DA expansion A new book nook A buildable creature (Basilisk, Aragog, Gryndilow, or Niffler) A buildable object (e.g., a life-size wand) A GoF set (first or third task) As for what I would want: I’m running out of ideas here There are some minor characters here and there that I would like to have as minifigs (Scrimgeour, Fletcher, the Carrows, the Bloody Baron, and Bem come to mind), but other than that, they’ve now done everything I’ve ever asked for. I’m at a point where I wouldn’t be sad about the theme retiring Not gonna happen of course!
  14. Somehow, I managed to miss the three set numbers that popped up on brickmerge at some point, 72421 to 23, until I came across them today while browsing brickset. All three sets are scheduled for June. Are there any rumours what theme these belong to? Can’t find anything in the usual places Has to be a licensed theme, considering how close the numbers are to the Pokémon sets (721XX) while still being far enough away to be a separate theme. Fingers crossed it’s an exciting new license!
  15. That's not just a deal, it's a steal! Must be an internal error, but legally you should be in the clear. Similarly, I got a discount of 25% on the 2006 Star Destroyer because the Swiss price on s@h was set too low by accident, just on the day the set came out They fixed it shortly afterwards, but the prices shown on webshops are legally binding in most places, at least during checkout.
  16. If that's the reasoning, wouldn't it be less confusing if they kept Radcliffe et al on the box to clearly indicate which version the sets are based on?
  17. It’s not a new print, instead it’s a clever reuse of the Fat Friar’s faceprint ^^ Magazines will most likely never have exclusive prints.
  18. … I haven’t seen the movie the meme is referencing What trap have I stepped into?!
  19. Neither is HERESY We will have our glorious TIE Avenger by any means necessary
  20. Nahhh. Netflix and TLG also have a good relationship, so I don’t see how the merger will affect anything.
  21. I won’t complain too much since we’re getting two long-requested minifigs in January and hopefully a bunch more with the M&G and Ahsoka S2 sets, but a wave with 8 sets and not a single new character between them (as far as we know) is quite impressive
  22. If Smart Greedo doesn’t say Maclunky, we riot.
  23. Agreed. A later release means they can work with actual footage rather than concept art ^^
  24. Most likely August again, unfortunately. If they came out before June, we would already have set numbers and a release date
