LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In a new catalogue, they call S29 „classic“. Looks like we can expect more throwback minifigs then! -

Exactly. It‘s almost comical at point, where people act as if companies were people, seemingly forgetting that actual humans with thoughts and feelings are working on products. Same with movies or shows, where many ignore the hard work hundreds of people put into them This isn’t an argument against legit criticism, but a bit of perspective wouldn‘t hurt Most of the time, I don‘t envy people who have their work publicly dissected like this. -

As far as I‘m aware, they don‘t usually announce beforehand when a GWP set returns. The recent TIE Fighter for instance just randomly showed up again! That said, I wouldn‘t hold my breath. Most GWP sets sadly don‘t ever return once the stock‘s depleted -

Yeah, Narcissa with regular legs just looks dumb. I get they did it so she can sit down at the table, but other sets before have included both skirts and legs for that very reason And while they‘re at it, they could also use a different hairpiece for her. How about Glinda‘s, which they‘ve also just recoloured for the Grey Lady? Oh, and a new faceprint. And they should finally use the Hidden Side smoke piece to depict flying Death Eaters. That piece almost looks like it was designed for that exact purpose! If it‘s still around, that is, as it was last used in Dreamzzz sets two years ago. -

I have to correct myself, Kuiil did show up in the episode with the Offworld Jawas! I completely forgot about the negotiation scene So the Sandcrawler could easily include him, after all. Maybe even a Trandoshan too to complete the cast of the episode And I still highly doubt it‘s a M&G set. Sure, a Sandcrawler could theoretically appear in the film, but a mudhorn too? Nah. -

Indeed. The M&G and 2HY playsets in particular sound great, but it'll be quite a blemish on this year's overall output if there really are no Ahsoka S2 sets. Too early to tell though. Fingers crossed! -

Usually late January or early February, but I think last year's list appeared exceptionally early. I'd say within 2-3 weeks I'm curious to see if they're able to conjure something from my wishlist, ridiculously short as it now is. The two biggest things previously on there were just crossed off in one swift blow, after all! Fingers crossed for a Battle of the Department of Mysteries set and a new Gambledore minifig! Beyond that, I'm running out of things to ask for -

Some thoughts: I guess the Sandcrawler is the 14+ July set then? I'm curious about the minifig selection. Mando, Grogu, and a few Offworld Jawas are a given, but maybe Kuiil again? He wasn't present of course, but it'd be kinda strange to have a Jawa variant as the only exclusive or rare minifig in a big set like that Plus the mould is still around! The AT-AT being the $180 set isn't surprising, but the $140 set being an Imp Shuttle surely is. I guess that means no new Razor Crest then? I mean, there are still more unknown M&G sets, but a new RC would surely be at least $120 and a new movie immediately getting 3 set north of $100 is kinda insane The Vader maxifig is long overdue. Iron Man, Batman, and Steve next, pretty please? Ani's JSF sounds like nothing special, but there could be an interesting minifig included here! Funny to see that my prediction of the Smart Play sets all being based on the OT still holds true -

A lot of these sets sound more like 2027 sets I mean, a poster set and „Icons of Star Wars“? Sounds like anniversary material to me, but they‘ll have their reasons, I guess How about buildable figures in the style of the Harry and Ron figures from the Flying Ford Anglia? …please magical manifesting powers, fail me this time -

That‘s an insane list! Is there even space for any Ahsoka S2 sets?! I hope we‘ll get something early next year then! -

Yup, definitely light bluish grey! Must've been the quality of the leaked picture I saw. Looks pretty neat! I wanna see the thing in action though. We still don't know exactly what the smart bricks do and how they interact with the tags and each other. I kinda expected a video to showcase the functions, but alas... -

I think there' s gonna be a nice balance of new stuff (particularly minifigs) and new versions of established vehicles. Usually I'd frown upon another AT-AT for instance, but since it's a new version based on the model seen in Rebels, I'd welcome such a set Just gimme ripped Rotta. -

Seriously though, once we get the ROTK version of the Witch-King and Eowyn (and preferably a Mûmakil), I'll be completely satisfied with TLG have done with LOTR -

That one's hilarious to me I've been arguing that the HP designers must be running out of D2C set ideas by now, but now it turns out they can actually still afford to reject ideas Goes to show how little we actually know! Makes sense to me, I imagine the character decisions usually come top-down for licensed themes. -

Some decisions sure are baffling to us fans, but we only ever see part of the picture I would never argue against incorporating fan feedback, but the diehard fans are always outweighed by casual fans and general customers. For instance, if you only looked at EB, you‘d think a TIE Avenger would be the most popular set ever designed and sell like coke-laced hotcakes, and while it surely would do decently, the reality would likely be quite different. To casual fans, it‘s just another TIE fighter. (That said, release it, you cowards ) My point is, there are a lot of factors at play here and some decisions that appear weird to us may have a reasonable explanation behind the scenes. Or not, but it‘s not like we‘ll ever know -

That‘s awesome, congrats! I had no idea that interns could work on sets, but (co-) designing polybags makes perfect sense for the time window! Must be quite special to see a set you conceptualised on shelves! -

There's nothing exclusive about that minifig though. The torso has been used for Norman Osborn, Grandpa Joe, and Cornelius Fudge last year -

Same! The 5 Ahsoka sets are among the strongest for any show or spin-off movie so far Call me easy to please, but if we get Rotta, Sigourney Weaver‘s character, a missing Mandoverse character like Carson Teva, and Captain Enoch this year, I‘ll already be a happy camper ^^ -

They could easily release a DADA classroom set in the same style as the cauldron, i.e., a foldable Boggart cabinet Granted, a cabinet is not as immediately recognisable as a cauldron, but the movie design is pretty unique (and that tracking shot is chef‘s kiss). -

Pictures of Sauron‘s helmet are out there! Looks awesome! -
Indeed. I think one of the issues is that POTC Icons sets, if they continue, are prone to be ships, which could lead to some self-cannibalism since D2C sets have longer lifespans ^^ A bi-yearly schedule might make more sense financially, even though I definitely would‘ve preferred a Flying Dutchman set this year already
