Well, not that soon, otherwise they wouldn‘t have removed the pictures of the cauldron already -

It was „confirmed“ in a recent art book, like a couple of days ago I say „confirmed“ because it was described like Qimir „was going to be“ the founder, which more sounds like a plan they had for further seasons, rather than it actually being canon now. Wookieepedia hasn‘t updated their pages accordingly, for instance. The idea was to explain how a group of darksiders could continue outside of the rule of two since there obviously wasn‘t that much wiggle room in the line of succession between Qimir/Osha and Palpy, given Plagueis was already around. -

I don‘t know either, because I‘m Swiss, not Swedish Not sure why you perceive this as a personal attack of sorts. A) Historically, a lot of didactors got elected democratically first, so that‘s not a contradiction. B) Not sure what else to call a government with a president proudly acting above the law, blowing up boats, threatening protesters, demolishing public property, musing about a third term etc. My point in regards to Soup was simply that once this administration starts interfering with movies, which seems increasingly likely, I‘m out. Feel free to criticise my government in turn, I‘ll likely join in, not defend them The federal council is currently the most useless it has been in decades. -

After watching the new trailer, I think the colour choice for Vecna actually makes sense -

Interesting! His knowledge still must be limited though, since we see him pledging his allegiance to Palpy in the movie, plus he doesn‘t seem to know about the fleet (or its size at least) before the events of the movie ^^ There‘s still a lot that needs to be fleshed out! -

More like reek Every set has its fans and you can‘t really argue about taste, but to me that was a blocky monstrosity Out of the ROTJ versions, the 2009 one‘s where it‘s at! -

Mario Day has just gotten more interesting Since the sets will now definitely get released after S2 (my guess is August again), they definitely won‘t have to worry about „spoilers“ and all S2 characters should be fair game ^^ Well, except for Sir Crocodile. He certainly will only have a cameo before a proper appearance in S3. -

Indeed. Some people may think that the show, if it gets sets, will breath new air into the theme, but I‘m very sceptical about that. From what we‘ve seen so far, all that will differ is some aspects of the minifigs, and maybe some additional characters that weren‘t in the movies. The uniforms, Hagrid’s costume, Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express will all look almost identical and Hogwarts will likely not differ in any meaningful way either, so set-wise it would be more of the same with slightly different minifigs And less variety, since the show will take at least 10 years to get to DH, if they even make it that far. -

Oh, it absolutely was! The Didney execs wanted to make the pre-set deadline at all cost, and it shows. While I like TROS more than most people do, it‘s apparent it was rushed and a lot of plot points sure would‘ve resonated more if A) there was a plan for the ST from the get-go, and B) there was more time to develop some of the ideas. There are still way too many holes in the timeline of events, and now The Acolyte created even more of them with the reveal that Qimir is the founder of the Knights of Ren. Medium rare. -

Well, it takes some mental gymnastics to interpret „secret potion classroom“ as „Snape teaches Hermione in secret“, as opposed to „the cauldron has a secret classroom inside“ I highly doubt a single person buying this set will perceive it as creepy. At no point is it ever implied that anything weird is going on between them, beyond Snape ignoring her in PoA and generally not treating Gryffindor students all that well. Yeah, child abuse is undeniably present in the story, but interpreting the set in this way is quite the stretch -
Thanks to the latest Ideas review results, we will get sets based on the Smurfs, Power Rangers, Downton Abbey, and ET! Can’t say I expected them to pick 5 projects (plus one from the parking lot), let alone these specific licenses!

You mean the 2x2 round jumper plate with a Technic ball on top? I thought it was lavender at first, but the more I look at it, the more I‘m convinced it is in fact a new colour! Too bad there‘s no flask piece as I‘ve hoped, but the printed minifig head representing a labelled jar is a cool addition, and the boiling potion piece getting another recolour is also nice to see. -

…excellent point, never even thought about it! It’s never been clearly explained whether the Final Order / Sith Eternal was cut off from the rest of the galaxy or if some FO members were in contact with them. The prominent FO characters definitely weren‘t as the existence of the Sith Eternal was a surprise to all of them. Minimal or no contact would explain why they use older designs, like the xyston-class SDs being based on the Imperial rather than the FO version. In that case, FO TIE pilots don‘t make sense unless the TIE Daggers were only manned once the First and Final Orders joined forces. …but then again, both Jumptrooper versions look identical apart from the colour. That one is trickier to explain since the helmet and armour follow FO rather than Imperial design conventions and thus can‘t be explained away by being based on old discarded Imperial designs That‘s the least of TROS‘ issues, but I still wish they thought through things a bit more. JJ gonna JJ! -

I don‘t see how China being a dictatorship changes what I said. I don‘t really want to get into all that since I try to avoid the topic as much as I can, but I will quickly justify my choice of words regardless. „Regime“ is an appropriate term for a government where checks & balances no longer apply, separation of power ceases to exist, congress is bypassed, and where the government threatens to use the army against its own citizens, and that‘s just the tip of the iceberg You can downplay it as much as you like, but the trajectory this takes is not leading anywhere good. -

Hey, leave the TIE Dorito out of this, that‘s a great TIE design Yeah, not a fan. It‘s basically a regular SD with some red lines. Riveting. Even a completely red version would‘ve been better! Not sure if this is fanart or leaked concept art, but something like this would‘ve been so much cooler: -

A picture of the cauldron is out! Gotta say, I looove the new boxart! Kinda strange not to have the trio on there, but it looks great nonetheless! Also, looks like I was right about the patroni being trans-light blue satin -
Is the medieval theme as popular as it used to be?

I don‘t doubt they sell somewhat, but whether they can compete with the big boys is the question Castle 07/08 didn‘t have Ninjago to compete with, for instance. -

That‘s exactly my point though, Gunn himself has stated that the international box office was very likely affected by it. And in regards to BNW, I brought that one up because there was a very vocal social media campaign in China, urging people to boycot it in favour of Ne Zha 2. And people are boycotting the US, as tourism for instance has unsurprisingly taken a hit in many places. -
Is the medieval theme as popular as it used to be?
BrickBob Studpants replied to plastic-man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Bold claim. Based on what evidence, exactly? I highly doubt the previous castle themes ever outdid their competitors, be they in-house or licensed. I don‘t see why a generic castle theme would ever be able to compete with or even best well-established themes like City or Ninjago, let alone Harry Potter or Star Wars. People used to point at Playmobil for comparison, but guess what, they nowadays have just as many licensed themes as LEGO does, and their financial reports aren‘t looking so good I wouldn‘t mind castle returning with a new theme to replace Dreamzzz, but it‘s not gonna be the #1 best-selling theme. That‘s delusional, frankly -

As I said, they could‘ve done a third series in 2022, but even then we already got the obvious candidates like Kreacher, Pomfrey, Pince, Yaxley, and OotP Tonks anyway, and other characters frequently appearing on such wishlists have since showed up in sets and books as well, such as Rita Skeeter, Karkaroff, Bill, and Narcissa. Now the final character you‘d often see on such lists - Xenophilius - gets released in January, leaving exactly nobody Well, maybe not nobody, but a CMF with only 12 minifigs would need some heavy hitters, and Mundungus Fletcher, Scrimgeour, the Carrows, and random students just aren‘t it. And I doubt a series only consisting of updated minifigs would be much of a draw. So far, every CMF series has mostly featured either new characters or noteworthy variants that haven‘t been done before. -

People like to bring up the 2016 Bridge Battle, which is indeed one of the best SH playsets (if not the best), but a lot of the other sets from that era don‘t hold up all that well Despite its flaws, this year‘s Oscorp blows many of those out of the water. The Bridge Battle was an outlier, not the standard ^^ -

At this point, I‘ve pretty much given up on new side characters or villains showing up in regular sets, so updates of existing minifigs is the best I can hope for In that sense, Mysterio and Rhino sound like good additions! With all the new elements introduced since the last Rhino mech in 2015, I‘m sure the new version will wipe the floor with that one And no stupid angry Clone!!
