Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Possibly, yes. It could also be a DC set though The Iron Man minifig from the upcoming Spidey sets leaked! Nice to see a different Tony faceprint -

Nope, not even that. The pattern was: Descriptions at London Toy Fair Descriptions and a few pictures at Nuremberg Toy Fair (most licensed themes were off-limits) Full pictures at NY Toy Fair Descriptions being allowed stopped some time before 2019 (I remember because one poor guy got fired that year for sending the HP minifig list in DMs here on EB). Nuremberg used to useful until shortly before the pandemic, and NYTF stopped being worthwhile around the same time because they suddenly only had 1HY stuff on display anymore. I think the shift was in 2018, because I remember the Great Hall being the only real highlight at NYTF, besides the JWFK sets. Most of the other themes had nothing new there. Those descriptions did not come from toy fairs though. The 2022 descriptions came from prelims that didn‘t leak (I know because I saw them) and D2C sets aren‘t shown at these events, so the Gringotts descriptions had a different source too. Also, they came out wellllllll after „toy fair season“. Or rather, the pale shadow of its former glory -
Hopefully we still get minifigs in that case, otherwise I‘m not interested

Also, he said „new IP”. Does he mean for LEGO (well, duh) or new in general, i.e., a recent IP? Can’t think of too many popular exclusive family-friendly IPs Netflix has in its catalogue…
-
He didn’t specify which of the two themes it was, or did he? Also, both themes have 10+ sets at most, so ST can be ruled out Maybe it’s ATLA after all, albeit way too late
-
Makes sense, since Transformers was hinted at as a theme According to Brickmerge, all of these launch in October.

What implication? Isn’t this just baseless speculation hinging on the higher-than-expected price tag? -

The toy fairs have been absolutely worthless to us for multiple years now. They only show stuff that’s already on shelves and any new stuff is on display behind closed curtains, with attendees signing NDAs. Don’t except anything from any of the fairs anymore -
Well, looks like we’re getting two additional themes this year, both implied to be licensed (and not based on video games): Codename “Buffalo”: 76780 (10+) 76781 (10+) Codename “Bright”: 75681 (7+) 75682 (9+) 75683 (9+) 75684 (8+) WHAT IS GOING ON THIS YEAR

While it could technically be a Vol 2 set, the ship is way more prominent in the first movie, so I’d expect only characters from that one to show up. While Korath or Kraglin would be fantastic, I’m not getting my hopes up for anyone new And that goes for the entire wave. Upgraded (or downgraded) versions of previous minifigs is all we’re getting this summer it seems -

Insert Prof Vector and one or two of the other extras, the Fat Friar, the Bloody Baron, maybe a more fancy meal selection, the black hats the pupils are wearing, and that’s about it -
76270: Bat-Mech 76272: 4+ Batcave with Batman, Batgirl, and The Jonkler 76273: Batpod with buildable figure 76274: BTAS Batmobile with Batsy, Mr Freeze, & Harley (credit: @Brick Clicker) Better than three Batman vs Jonkler sets, but not by that much So the only new figure the $300 set brings to the table is Catwoman?! Lame.

Are they really „needed“ tho? If we go for absolute completion, then yes, but otherwise, I doubt Fleur‘s dance partner, akne girl, Cedric’s dad, and random muggle who gets avadakedavrad are high on anyone‘s wishlist -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Predictable, as you say, because why would they release a movie tie-in set 10 months ahead the movie when they can easily delay it? I‘m expecting a January ‘25 release for it. You know what‘s really painful tho? If pictures of the set leak -

I think that was more of a general statement, as in the set not being super-specific to that movie. What makes it a PS set must be the minifigs rather than the build itself -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
According to @TandNbricks, the Great Hall will again be based on PS. Not the most exciting choice, UNLESS it’s Halloween-themed and involves the troll scene! In that case, colour me excited -

Exabricks had it in his story, but that‘s now gone. Brick Clicker included the picture in his latest news video though (at around the 3:50 mark) -

I know I said I wouldn’t post in here anymore, but this is sort of news, so I’ll chime in. My two cents: This is absolute nonsense I stumbled upon the website several weeks ago and it’s pretty clearly just speculation on their part with nothing backing it up. I didn’t report my findings here for that very reason, no point in getting people’s hopes up over NOTHING. Especially now with Brickmerge having updated their database. We know about every single set releasing this year, including polybags, D2C and GWP sets. There’s no way this slipped through the cracks, especially when it was pretty clear that these were allegedly DoD sets. Ofc it’s sad and kinda insulting that Indy is the only 2023 theme not to continue (even Gabby gets more sets, as we learned yesterday!!), but I’ve made my peace with it a while ago. Time for us all to do the same -
Compared to the TLBM sets, what we’re getting now *are* scraps When Robin or Batgirl (or any foe other than Jonkler or Harley) showing up in a set is cause for celebration, you know it’s dire Sure, Batman gets more than other DC superheroes (which is ofc NOTHING), but what they’re releasing now still pales in comparison to what came before…
