Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, and the first two Thor films! These four films alone provide enough content for an entire wave of Infinity Saga sets, but alas… I can see why they‘re going for GotG and AoU instead, but still, missed opportunities -

The minifig doesn’t hold any weapons/accessories, which indicates it‘s a placeholder Also, the placeholders for the exclusive book minifigs usually have specific hairpieces as well -

Unless they reuse Omega‘s tan version of that hairpiece -

Yeah, it‘s one of the weaker HP polybags, but still a neat little set Definitely would‘ve been better with a different owl, but it is what it is -

I didn't pay much attention to the upcoming book exclusive minifig before, but if it's in the same style as the 6 anniversary figures, I'm listening I'm still not expecting a super-detailed new character here, but maybe it's also a highly-requested variant? -

If those symbols mean the same thing across figures, this is indeed a solid case for Saw There aren't that many cyborg rebels out there! Cautiously optimistic now! -

Not sure about the iconicity of some of these. By „iconic“ I meant buildings that are instantly recognisable to a casual fan without any contextual cues Granted, maybe I’m being too strict here since the Daily Bugle definitely benefitted from having that huge sign plus all the Spidey characters crawling/jumping/swinging/climbing/flying around -

I’m not getting my hopes up for Saw, but if it actually is him, 2024 is a big step closer to being my favourite LEGO year ever 2023 will be hard to beat, but it‘s already getting close with the Mando/Ahsoka sets, the anniversary figures, the bonkers August wave, the new AC theme, the Dune set, and all the amazing sets from the survey leak. I’m fully expecting Ezra, who’s also a nice addition though since we never got his S3/4 version. Ezra makes as much sense in a TPM set as any of the other anniversary figures -

Can anybody identify Anakin’s hairpiece? Looks like the 2018 Harry Potter hairpiece to me, which would be funny considering that 2007-2015 Ani used the classic 2001 Potter hairpiece The best choice in my opinion would be Will’s hairpiece from Stranger Things, but oh well… -

The Dark Falcon is implied to have one. I guess Dark Rey is an anniversary figure, since she’s the only canon character out of that bunch -

Well, since the Sith Infiltrator seems to come with an anniversary figure, all six sets are now accounted for Don’t do this, don’t give me hope -

The Sorting Hat has been officially revealed! The sound brick looks pretty interesting. A lot larger than I expected, and lavender? -

Connecting a tile to a clip has always been legal to my understanding, same as sandwiching a tile between studs. What‘s not legal is using a plate instead These three all look great! Nice to finally have a representation of the Invisible Hand -

Exactly my point. I‘m not saying the costume department did a bad job, but why do so many wizards in the FB movies wear normal 30s muggle clothes even in environments where they don‘t have to blend in? What inspired Dumbledore to completely change his wardrobe between SoD and the flashback in HBP? So yeah, a lot of side characters would be unrecognisable and/or boring-looking to casual fans. -

I’m not sure if I like the idea, as SW is a very different beast. With SW, there are just so many movies, shows, games, books, and comics to pull fan-favourite characters from. While HP is a big franchise too, its niche characters just don’t have the same draw For instance, Malak and Fives are awesome characters, and even if you have no idea who they are, at least they look cool. I doubt the same can be said about many of the niche HP characters like Nicholas Flamel. To a non-fan, he’s just an old frail dude There may be exceptions, but I think a lot of the candidates for such figures would look pretty lame to most customers unless they happen to recognise them. -

I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to criticise things, but some of the complaints come across as very entitled. Between Cody, Rex, Fox, Fives, and so many clone variants, y’all got what you asked for and then some, and yet I hear nothing but complaints Maybe they should start catering to people who actually appreciate what they’re doing. Saw Gerrera, Galen Erso, Dryden Voss, Babu Frik, and TROS Senate, pretty please? -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I didn't say or imply that EVERYTHING in SW is iconic, from characters, to vehicles, to locations, to weapons, to random background characters, to hairstyles even, and insignificant props. Marvel however has to mostly rely on its characters. This is not to say Marvel has nothing iconic other than its characters either, but they've already done most of the really well-known stuff I mean, they're very quickly running out of iconic buildings for instance -

Because the most iconic elements of Marvel are the characters themselves, rather than buildings, vehicles, or gadgets -
The only source I could find was a moderator on the legoleak subreddit, so take that for what it's worth I'm rather skeptical.

Every single print is new and exclusive, including the faceprint, he has a new cloth pauldron, a backpack, and twin blasters. What more can you ask for? We live in a world where we get minifigs fans have been asking for FOR YEARS as anniversary bonus figures and people still complain. I'm not surprised though: 20th SW anniversary with classic minifigs: people complain. 20th HP/10th Ninjago anniversary with golden minifigs: people complain. 25th SW anniversary with highly requested minifigs: people complain. I swear, they could have the ghost of Ole personally bring every fan a bonus minifig to their door and people would still find something to complain about -

Also, had they released the anniversary figures in polybags instead of sets, we would *never* have gotten more than two of them, and they definitely wouldn‘t feature new parts. So we would‘ve had an inferior Fives and either no Malak or a downgraded one with a printed mask rather than a moulded piece. And as far as I‘m concerned, these figures *are* bonuses as I can’t imagine the sets being much cheaper without them
