  1. Part 1, Chapter 1 Part 1, Chapter 2 Part 1, Chapter 3 Part 1, Chapter 4 Part 1, Chapter 5 Part 2, Chapter 1 Nocturnian Civil War Saga: Ambushing the Spire Avalonian Countryside by Brandon Stark, on Flickr With the war in Nocturnus over and Raavage defeated, and the heir of Historica being safely on the throne, the weary soldiers of Historica began to make their way home. After nearly six years of endless war, there was finally peace, and there was no longer any threat to Historica. The wars had taken thousands of lives and left devastation that would remain for generations to come. Yet war had stopped, and that was something to be grateful for. Among one of the groups heading home were those led by Brandon and Lord Alric Drondil. The two had fought briefly together in Nocturnus, and though Brandon returned to Avalonia, he came back to help in the fight to install the heir to the throne. Also among the groups, besides lords who were allies of Brandon, was the Green Rider Maelyn, an elvish girl Brandon was nearly in love with. Though the two met in Avalonia, she followed Brandon to aid in the fight against evil at Cedrica. As they passed through the picturesque Avalonian countryside, many thoughts were on Brandon's mind. He had ascended to the lordship shortly before the Revolword War, and thus his tenure as Master of Whisperers on the Council was shaped primarily by the wars that shook the continent. Albion's leadership was mostly absent, and a few spies, such as Morgan Windspear, Warden of Albion, helped cause the deteriorating conditions in the city. While Brandon could do nothing against it, he kept Avalonia alive. It was something the Avalonian people would never realize. They protested the deteriorating conditions and widespread poverty caused by Spire spies, but took for granted that a few Avalonian lords, such as him, had kept them alive until this day. Brandon was aware that a new era ushered for new command and new leaders, and he was sure the high command would soon remove him from the position. However, he planned to resign to avoid the embarrassment. Brandon decided to forget about his thoughts and enjoy what time he had left in the position of relative comfort and luxury. He turned to Alric, who was riding next to him. Brandon had grown up in the province ruled by Alric's father, before he left to make his way in the world. However, fate brought the two together, and they had been friends ever since. Brandon had offered to help Alric reclaim his birthright, though was declined. "What are your plans, now, Alric? The long wars have finally ended." Like with many of the people he had seen lately, Alric looked as if a large stone block had been lifted off his back. Brandon guessed he must've looked the same, since he felt that way, though he wasn't able to see yet. "I'll probably just return to my county, settle down, and maybe start. I've had enough of all this war. It's nice to see some rest for the first time. We grew up in this; our lives have been shaped by all of this. Peace will surely be different, but it would surely be welcomed by all." "I haven't even been back to Dragonstone since the Algus invasion broke out. The province, I assume, does fine without me, but I will make it a priority to visit it again. I may even start a family once I can find a suitable wife." Brandon changed the topic a little. "It's a new era, and new eras call for new leaders. I doubt Albion will need me anymore." Lord Alric looked confused, trying to ponder the last words Brandon had said. "Pardon?" "My tenure as Master of Whisperers has been shaped by war. My policies and ideals are different than what the new leadership wants. They will see me ousted, though I will resign to spare myself the embarrassment." "And you won't try to resist? You worked hard for this position, right?" "If the leadership or the Avalonian people want different, let it be. I won't stop it. It's tiring, Alric. It's not easy. I would much rather be at home, in Dragonstone, with a family." Lord Alric didn't look disappointed, nor happy. He just responded with a simple sentence. "I see then. I wish you the best of luck, whatever paths you may take."
  2. Treaty of Fort Philip by Brandon Stark, on Flickr Since the settlement of Dragonstone and the rest of Blueton Colony, the colony has been under a tense peace, with the colony always alert and ready for an attack by the natives. The natives, also known as the Tenotclaxcans, have been hostile towards Oleanders since the last colonization attempt over a year earlier, which failed after an unknown incident with the natives, causing them to attack the fledgling colony and kill many of its inhabitants. A year later, when Brandon and a group of adventurers attempted a second colonization, it was feared the natives would attack the colony. Thus, Brandon ordered the construction of a fort, Batterie Royale, within months of the colony's founding. Additionally, a company of thirty Oleander soldiers were also stationed in the colony for defense purposes. Despite their fears, a native attack never came, though Brandon requested the arrival of a second company of thirty Oleander soldiers as the settlement of Dragonstone grew. Around May 617, the first contact with the natives were made. After weeks of negotiations, Brandon was able to convince the natives' King, Azuma, to come to Fort Philip to sign a treaty of alliance and peace between the two. The King refused to come to Dragonstone, fearing Oleander betrayal. Fort Philip, however, was not only a fort, but now a small town had begun to grow around the fort, further staking Oleon's claim in the area. After negotiations between the two in the government building of Fort Philip, Brandon and Azuma signed the treaty, which would guarantee alliance and peace between the two. The treaty also opened up trade between the two. With permission from King Azuma, Brandon planned to build a trading post deep in Tenotclaxcan territory, at an area called Fin de Riviere by Oleander traders. All in all, the treaty would signal a new era of peace and prosperity for the colony.
  3. Like the others said, great story en_zoo. However, the build itself is great also and goes well with the story. I really like the layering, along the rock formations. The foliage and trees are also great additions too.
  4. Great build there. My favorite part of the build is the building itself, which I think fits well, though the kiln and pottery wheel are great additions. Again, I hope you don't mind me borrowing a few things, as your builds are among my favorites.
  5. Nice garden there. I especially like all the different trees, though the path and foliage on the ground is splendid. Good to see Eltina continuing to grow.
  6. Nice little build you have there. However, I suggest you add a few 1x1 or 1x2 translucent pieces, or 1x1 cheese slope pieces in the water to add more detail. You could also add some detail on the docks.
  7. Cow mounted artillery is great for taking on Redcoats! - I got this for posting a WIP pic of a humorous build on BoBS, based on a year old comment in the Oleon faction thread.
  8. It's not that I don't like it, which I don't. I have no problems with it. I was just wondering because a few of us Oleanders have used the torso in our builds, and I have used the torso with the red legs in my Fort Philip build, if you look carefully enough. In addition, I believe that a couple French soldiers in New France also wore the uniform.
  9. This build has a lot of nice little details in it, and I hope you don't mind me borrowing a few of them. The bookshelf is really nice with all the items on it, especially the candle. The design on the walls is also very detailed and probably my favorite part.
  10. Cool little harbor you have there. I like all the details in this small build, especially the docks. The stone section itself is nice too.
  11. I like how this building is simple yet elegant. The canal flowing under the building is a nice addition. I like the water technique too. The building itself is also really nice, especially with the roof technique. I would, however, suggest raising the second story a few studs, to make the building a little bigger. May I ask why there are two Oleander soldiers inside the building?
  12. Nice set of builds there. My favorite would probably be the labyrinth, but like Titus said, it's rather hard to choose. I like all the techniques used in all the builds. That being said, Avalonia is not going to swear allegiance to some Kaliphlin who can't even unite the people in his own guild.
  13. This is a really amazing challenge entry you have there. My favorite probably has to be the Albion streets though. However, the rest are also great. I like your minifig posing, which adds to your builds. Overall, stupendous job here.
  14. After looking through all the builds and reading the story, I'm nearly speechless. The detail in your builds is just amazing and far beyond my current capacity, so I hope you don't mind me borrowing a few ideas. I also appreciate you using my sigfig, and am incredibly honored with having my sigfig lead the Avalonian army. Overall this is a great set of builds you have here.
  15. I'm okay building in real bricks. I mean, my character intro here was made from real bricks. I just feel more comfortable building in LDD, but I'm willing to step out of my comfort zone and try real brick building on a larger scale for once.
  16. I really like all your builds here. The story is also great, and I like how you included the lore of Historica. I'm also a fan of those masonry bricks, so it's nice to see you included them. I wish I had as many of those pieces. My favorite build has to be the gate, and I hope you won't mind be borrowing a few ideas for future builds.
  17. Yeah I'd be interested in joining. Can you tell me more about it?
  18. Ouch. I like the building though. Can't wait to see what happens next. Do you need some of my guards to come take you down?
  19. No, she's mine. But don't worry, there's many fine young ladies in Dragonstone for you to marry, if you know what I mean. Ever heard of the Filles de Roi? Thanks!
  20. Nice build Phred. I like the little boats, along with the small shed. It's great to see Fatu Hiva getting some nice growth lately.

  22. Welcome to the best faction, Oleon! I really like your story.
  23. Dragonstone Art and Culture by Brandon Stark, on Flickr With his settlement continuing to grow, Brandon has begun to build numerous art and culture properties throughout the city, showing that Dragonstone is not only for economic purposes, but is now a settlement for living and enjoyment. Thus, one of the first culture properties is the statue of Brandon Stark, patriarch of the House of Lantell, and who was the lord of Dragonstone in the distant past, of which Dragonstone is named after. After returning from time spent with the Oleander aristocracy on Le Bellan, Brandon and his fiancee Maelyn Couture decide to tour the growing settlement of Dragonstone, which is showing signs of becoming one of the next major cities of Oleon's colonies. In front of the nearly finished Hotel de Ville lies the statue, shipped from Ladros, and newly placed. On their way to the Hotel de Ville, Brandon and Maelyn stop to admire the statue. @blackdeathgr Notice anything?
  24. I know I'm not the one to make decisions, but I will say that that is a really good idea. I was going to create my own topic for something like that but having a single topic sounds better, and more organized and efficient.
