  1. My speed build and feature presentation video of the great 42069, I really enjoyed building this set! P.s. Don't forget to refill the jerrycans! :)
  2. Just make sure you don't apply too much sharpness. Some applications (like Lightroom) give you the ability to add sharpness in a selective way. If your original photo was blurry (like the one above), then adding sharpness via software isn't the best idea. Use a higher F stop (and a sturdy tripod as your exposure will be longer) to ensure the whole subject is in focus.
  3. Valid point :) I have a spare for my own camera, but I was doing the speed build recording with my wife's camera (my Olympus cannot be tethered to a pc, d'oh) and that has only one battery unfortunately. After waiting impatiently for the battery to recharge last night I ordered an AC adapter from Ebay for the next recording :)
  4. @Seasider - here are some shots with the Technic figure in the driver's seat. As you can see the scale is not the best, looks like a kid at the driving wheel :)
  5. Although mine is not finished yet, you can see the scale of the figures compared to the vehicle (I'll make some pictures tomorrow with the figures in the seats):
  6. Camera battery is out of juice again, so the guys need to hold on until tomorrow :)
  7. I suggest to go bigger, your amazing photos look much better at that size! (offtopic - do you have a post in the Technic photography topic about the setup you use? ) Nowadays most screens should have a decent resolution to fit that width.
  8. I received the following notification this morning, but unfortunately it was too nice to be true :/ A German online shop posted the 42070 for the price of the 42069 :) Anyway, the preorder prices seems to be already lower then the announced ones, and we have still 2 weeks until the launch (I used brickmerge.de to check the prices) 42070 - 225 EUR 42069 - 104 EUR 42068 - 72 EUR
  9. I think it shares quite a few mistakes with the drag racer - cool looking for the first sight, but has poorly executed features and the motorized functions have a lot to complain about. Unforunately it seems to be a bigger challenge to fix the issues of this set, the drag racer was not that hard to pimp up :) Anyway, excellent review as always and beautiful pictures - love that even and soft lighting :)
  10. @jrx & @teflon - based on my experience the downside of this configuration is that you'll use the lowest power output of BuWizz, so the voltage (and motor speed) will be lower compared to the standard Lego battery box.
  11. Let's celebrate the 4th of July with these great American muscle cars! :)
  12. I'd like to ask for some support on behalf of a user called "ClassicLook", he's not able to log in and he recieves the error message "This member is not awaiting validation". Can you please check what can be the problem with his account? Thank you!
  13. As today is the first day of the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed I created a small scene with the McLaren 720S and some other Speed Champions cars on the usual parade, hope you like it :)
  14. You can see some ideas if you look around, here are a couple of them: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/575ddb57-0068-452f-90e2-7828a007b784 https://www.flickr.com/photos/thisani/12858464413 http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/349750 The last one look pretty ok for me if you can scale it up
  15. @therealjustin great shots and a great model, congrats!
  16. It's a good test to set realistic expectations abut the different power sources if you have a heavier model. Swapping only the battery box won't make any miracles - reducing the weight has more visible results.
  17. @HorcikDesigns thank you! To be honest I was not focusing on the figures, but actually the girl had quite a few changes. Almost the whole skeleton was replaced as the original joints were pretty limited, and she also got some high heels :)
  18. I'd suggest to review the hood-cabin-bed proportions, they are far from the real one. The wheels are also way too big but I assume it can be a jacked up Ram :)
  19. Didn't know that either, thanks! It means there's still hope for the new bigger sets :)
  20. I was building the 75875 Ford F-150 Raptor & Ford Model A Hot Rod set last weekend with my son (great cars, really cool set!) and I was quite surprised to see the 32062 Notched 2L axle in black in the set. With a quick Bricklink verification I realised that this axle in black was not uncommon in non-Technic sets in the past few years, but I think it wasn't used in Technic sets for about 10 years or so. Do you know if there's any particual reason why the ugly red version is used now exclusively for the Technic sets? There're so many cases where the red axle stands out and it would be much-much better to use a black one. Honestly I was sure Lego didn't make the black version anymore, but now that I see that it's used in other themes I really don't understand the logic behind.
  21. Thanks! :) Yes I think you saw the photo below, I posted it for fun in the Technic FB group and asked the ppl what are their thoughts about the puropse of the pile :)
  22. I created a small behind the scenes video for the Lava scene of my Darth's Angels photo series. It shows how the scene and and lights are set up and how the smoke effect was created.
  23. Nice start, I'll follow the topic as I also have plans to build a Ram at some point :) I'm curious how will you make the body.
  24. Are you guys staying up all night? I love to watch the brakes glowing, had to do another shot meanwhile :)
