  1. Brilliant. Proper training for mastering all the controls might be handy. Of, course unless you design it and then you know it top to bottom.
  2. In Eastern Germany waiting time to get one was longer than waiting time for Ferrari nowadays.
  3. I added link to instructions. Feedback welcome. Thanks.
  4. Thanks. I was wrong about 8420 - I thought it had the same tires back and front. And I did not know 8417. Thanks.
  5. I can't tell from the picture that appeared before if rear tire is the same as front one. That is my biggest complain about Lego motorcycles. Their tires look way too skinny. Especially rear one (since it is the same as front one - which is unrealistic)
  6. 1) welcome to eurobricks. 2) do not get discouraged, it is usually not as bad here. 3) thanks to those who beside harsh criticism offered also help. 4) excavator looks really good.
  7. Because I guess, swearing, chain-smoking, alcoholic, kleptomaniac, womanizer (with special feel for fem-bot professional women), who among many other evil things, flushed down the toilet Leela's pet, threw Fry's dog in hot lava, and basically is die-hard-no-morals lovable villain is not so perfect for Lego rules about what is appropriate.
  8. disclaimer: I do not have any licence for any Matt Groening original work. I only created LEGO Bender for fun and for free. Its LEGO interpretation and LEGO design is my own. info: Bender's Wiki ______________________________________ Hi, I am Bender, I bend girders, I can bend them into any angle. 45 degrees, 30 degrees, you name it... I also want to kill all humans, I smoke, I drink, I steal. This is how I look: As you can see I am not just some stupid bottom to top robot, I am a SNOT robot: And I can move, thanks to softaxles, magnets, pins, balls and sockets: My front door opens, so I can hide all I steal. Look at that nice pile of money I stole: I am getting sick of you humans, with your organs and soft skins. I will have a drink of my beer: Oh, somebody ripped my hand of. But it can be easily attached back: And if you do not like me, you can bite my shiny metal.....oh...you can't, it is plastic: ______________________________________ Video: Instructions (free) (PDF computer generated) will be on Rebrickable (link available when MOC approved on Rebrickable): preview: EDIT: Instructions available Rebrickable - BENDER
  9. I can make C/B-model myself but it is about value of the box you buy. A+B > A
  10. I can't ever clap long enough and loud enough! Bravo for this comment. I can still make picture from negatives my great-grandfather took, will I be able to have a look at jpg 30years from now? I can't read the letter I wrote in T602 only 25y ago.
  11. I would not count on B-model. with licence sets, B-models are not always there. e.g. Unimog, Claas - only attachment changes, Porsche - missing completely. Volvos (both 42030 and 45053) have proper B-models. I hope BMW will follow Volvo.
  12. IMO: I would hate, hate, hate pdf only LEGO. I would print it anyway. I spend 99% of my work-time behind computer. I do not want to stare at another screen in fun-time.
  13. edit: sorted. question deleted. Thanks
  14. I would disagree about "too many, too simple steps" complaints. Sure, it is designed for older kids, but on the other hand my 7yo daughter can build all alone (me serving only as "find the part slave" ) big sets. If the instructions would be designed just for teenagers and AFOLs only, she would get frustrated or discouraged because she needs help and probably would say halfway: "I do not like this" and walk away. This way, there is lots of fun and enjoyment even if she is theoretically too young for the set. LEGO is toy, for kids...do you remember kids? Lets (us AFOLs) be tolerant about too many steps, because at the end of the day, it does not prohibit us, but other way round it could be prohibitive for kids. And that would be big shame if you ask me.
  15. or navy version with folding wings? unlikely, but it would be nice
  16. I want one thick proper book. And I want printed B-model instructions too.
  17. Sopwith Camel is military plane. All I wanted to say is that since I was little LEGO became far more tolerant to violence. There is nothing I wouldn't have bought for my kids from "old" ages, however there are more than few sets (and maybe whole themes) I would not buy for my kids nowadays. Denying that jet singleseater plane is military machine seems odd to me.
  18. I think LEGO is stuck between the rock and hard place when it comes to jet planes. Obviously, natural inspiration must and should come from military planes. But LEGO policy about military stuff is NO, NO, so they end up doing some "aerobatic, race" kind of mutant. On one hand I can understand why it is not acceptable to have military stuff as toy manufacturer in portfolio, but when nowadays you have "half" of the LEGO catalogue full of StarWars, with shooting mechanisms, minifigures with guns etc. and whole superheros (that occupy other "half" of LEGO catalogue) is shamelessly violent, no-no on military plane looks bit hypocritical.
  19. Thank you. I will try that. Thank you.
  20. Hello, Is it possible to export LDraw model into some format that I can import in some "normal" CAD/3D platform (Maya, SolidWorks, Alias, Catia, 3DS, anything). Any experience with such a task? Thank you.
  21. I am disappointed as ship's blue is different blue than 42025, 42042 blue etc. I was hopping there would be lots of panels in the same blue. Lots of panels yes, but different blue. The rest is not my cup of tea.
  22. Thank you. I will wait. Thanks for clarification. And (I wrote it before, but repetition of thank you will do not harm ) : Thanks everyone for your work. I like the new look. Clean, neat, simple. Thanks guys!
  23. BBC is not on yet, or is it just me? Some of pictures uploaded before upgrade do not show. Am I just inpatient or do I have to do something with my browser? If is it the former, I am sorry.
