Deadshot doesn't use a bow or hood I think you are thinking of the Dark Archer/ Malcolm Merlyn.

Good point but I say out of the league he is the one with the most media focus at the moment. The superman set in 2012 was well timed as man of steel had just been announced and the videogame of Lego batman 2 had him featured heavily. The 2013 set with Aqua-Man was an excuse for batman to wear a different outfit and be thrown into yet another set. They could've chosen any league member for batman to rescue (in this case aqua man) that some kids would know from his regular appearances on brave and the bold animated TV series. I still think the comic con one is an exclusive variant and there will be a different costume green arrow to come in the sets such was the case with superman in 2011 he was a preview figure for the line. Flash is once again good timing as he is appearing in physical form in arrow season 2 which has been known for quite a while plus the theme of the set he is in works well. Plus coming to think of it mold wise. To make batgirl (which a lot of people including myself want) They would have to make a whole new cowl and hairpiece like the videogame that fit together or are one piece. Whereas green arrow's pieces are simple, already exist and just requires new printing. Even the combine bow of Hawkeye's exists they would either have to repaint it or use it in black. Deathstroke I agree is quite possible due to popularity and the fact this set involves the joker who is another character from arkham origins this would be a good fit. Merlyn was just an idea as an iconic villain like what happened with lex luthor in the superman set both are currently more well known and in the public eye than other DC villains. Just a thought if its a steamroller city based set then green lantern wouldn't really be suited. I mean flash was in a chase set and aquaman in a water set so green lantern would make more sense in a space set. Whereas a city based set is the right place for arrow as him and batman are land and city based vigilantes. Perhaps not Merlyn but I could see batman and green arrow facing off against joker and deathstroke and maybe one other villain as has been said. This is all just speculation though. Can't wait to see what the sets really look like and include.

Just an idea but maybe it would make sense if the steamroller set with the unconfirmed hero and villains to be Green Arrow and Dark Archer. As green arrow is most in focus in the media nowadays due to his TV show he would be the clear choice of justice league member to include as children are familiar with him. The actor for arrow even said in a recent interview he loves it when children dressed as him come to the set of the show so it must be a pretty popular character. Dark Archer is a clear villain choice as he is the most iconic villain that arrow has faced and has been dead centre in the recent TV show. This could also mean as he is featured in arkham origins and in arrow, death stroke who is also very iconic for being a batman and green arrow villain could be included too. Just some thoughts on what could appear character wise in the steamroller set.

If the 3 confirmed Spiderman sets for march 2014 are USM or a mix of ASM2 and USM. Then this could very well feature in the usm set/s: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130220133332/thedailybugle/images/thumb/2/22/114.jpg.png/500px-114.jpg.png and hopefully this: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130223022817/thedailybugle/images/9/90/172_glider.png and so badly need in next year's sets this: http://www.thehdroom.com/images/news/12798a.jpg. Unless the Spiderman sets are all ASM2 which I would be completely fine with as we could get some great characters and scenarios. It would be nice after Lego not having a Spiderman 3 range due to licensing or Amazing Spiderman range if they get ASM2.

Indeed that is quite an unpopular show. I read that it isn't attracting the audience "EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES" used to. The voice acting is atrocious and below the level of many other similar shows. EMH had personality whereas this has no visual flair or interesting plotlines. To be quite honest I don't think we have to worry about them basing sets of that because to marvel the god knows how many million dollar marvel movies are more important to promote to Disney than some run of the mill TV show. This what I expect for next year: January: dc: the 4 batman sets. Marvel: One captain America 2 set and one thor the dark world set. March: Marvel: 3 Spiderman Sets USM or ASM2 or a mixture of both. July: marvel: sets for gotg and X-men perhaps loosely based on days of future past. Either way these are the figures I'd expect next year: DC: Batman (riddler chase version), the flash, the joker, man bat, penguin, batgirl, Nightwing, 2 exclusive villains for the joker set. marvel: Thor(tdw), Malekith(tdw), Odin(tdw), Loki(tdw), Jane foster(tdw), Captain America(tws), The winter soldier, Steve rogers (tws), falcon(tws), Nick fury (MCU tws), Crossbones (tws), Black Widow (tws). If USM sets are in order then we can expect: Spiderman (duh), Green Goblin (big fig), White tiger, Agent Coulson, Power man, The Lizard. If ASM however we may get: ASM2 Spiderman, Electro (ASM2), Rhino (ASM2), Green Goblin (in green and black armour (rumoured)), Peter parker(ASM2), Gwen Stacy(ASM2) Xmen wise I would reckon either more main xmen in comic attire or dofp characters . Either way I'm hoping for a minfigure professor X that would be fantastic. Even if it wasn't a movie version the game one looks like Patrick Stewart anyway. I have never heard of guardians of the galaxy before now but I assume they are some sort of outer space bounty hunter esque team i do know Karen gillain is playing the villain though so that'll be interesting in minifgure form. In short i think 2014 sounds like a very good year for marvel superheroes. Plus some more batman is no blight on my collection. It will finally give us man bat so that's good.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hear your plight my friend. If it was War Machine then I would be fine with giving it a miss as in the movies currently it is the patriot. The fact it is one of the most central characters in the latest movie is what gets me. Really this one so should've been in sets. I think it is beyond imbecilic to withhold such a prominent character in the film from sets. Then Again we may ask if this is the case. Where is Eric Savin? where is happy Hogan? the president? etc. So many Iron Man 3 characters didn't make it into the entirely juvenile and lack lustre iron man 3 wave. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just saw that Iron patriot in the UK is available with every console apart from pc! I think this is a really unfair move by Lego as there are quite a few people in the UK including myself who don't have an xbox,ps3 etc. I used to but like most gaming appliances it broke down was fixed then broke down again! I really wanted to get the game on pc because it looks like a cracking game and I was looking forward to getting the patriot with it as they really should've swapped the war machine in the sets with it. So now I either have to buy it for a ridiculous price from the second hand market after the game is released or buy the cheapest console version which I can't use effectively paying £25- £40 for a minfigure that should have been on all consoles anyway. Thanks a lot lego.... -
Sadly it appears mega blocks already do those but now Disney owns the franchise that contract is probably dead soon if not already. Would be cool I admit. hang on just read MB's contract with marvel was terminated in 2012 so no problems there! I say go ahead as the videogame showed so many good figures that are unlikely to all end up in sets. I want the comic style green goblin from the video game as it is likely we will get the USM on in next year's sets rather than that one. I actually really like the design of usm goblin but the other one is iconic and should be used in the next Spidey films.

I might be the only one but I like the head mold he got in the avengers sets. It looks more like the sort of sized helmet he wore in the films than the flash sized one would which is oversized for cap. Plus I believe for the winter soldier the wings aren't present in the design they appear to be embossed/painted into the helmet like the avengers design. So making a new helmet piece would be slightly unlikely/not really necessary as the movie the sets will be made for he doesn't have separate wings from his helmet. A reprint of the headpiece is in order however as the helmet design has changed a bit. Looks like they are bringing back the army style brown chinstrap so that will make it a nice new redesign. http://clothesonfilm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Captain-America-The-Winter-Soldier_Chris-Evans-first-costume-crop_Image-credit-ComicBookMovie.jpg Looks like fury gets into some action in cap 2 hopefully that means a good chance of a mcu design fury: http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2013/05/new-captain-america-winter-soldier-set.html

I wouldn't get too excited as Lego didn't even make the battle of Hogwarts for the final harry potter film sets. In fact despite the popularity of the final film they made nothing to do with deathly hallows part 2. Hopefully the battle of the five armies and the final film won't suffer the same fate.

Its a shame but Lego aren't at NY comic con this year so no special reveals: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-new-york-comic-con-2013/ I reckon the closest we'll know is close to Christmas when the sets start hitting the shelves and the official pictures. IT would be nice if marvel got an expensive exclusive this year like stark tower or the helicarrier or x mansion. Who knows..

Another bog standard battle droid. Useless! that Jango looks nice in a novelty kind of way and Boba looks good but apart from that there isn't much that can't be gotten easily from other sets. If they had done more themed figures like Santa Dooku and maybe other figures rather than a clone, an endor trooper. the scout is alright but this isn't worth £25 this year. There are better figures in sets for the same amount and slightly more expensive ones.

This probably belongs in DC but I'd like to see an Arrow Theme based on the new TV series: The license is dc's and WB's so Lego would have no trouble getting the license from them. Set ideas: Huntress pursuit £12.99 includes Arrow (TV show design)with bow And a double sided face. One face with the green paint for the mask and one without. Huntress (TV show design) with crossbow with double sided face one with mask and one without. The set includes A dark green quad bike for arrow and a black motorcycle for huntress and a street feature. Dark archer ambush £19.99 includes Arrow, Dark archer (TV show design) one side of face with mask over mouth and one side without (facial likeness of john barrowman) and Detective lance (TV show design). Set includes Dark archer's black sports car with missile launcher in the back, a police car for detective lance and a zip line from a lamppost for arrow to use his bow to abseil down. Arrow's lair attack £39.99 includes Oliver queen (shirtless with scars), John Diggle (TV show version), Felicity smoak (TV show version), Arrow and dead shot (TV show design)lair includes two levels one with a bar and club façade at the top and one with arrow's lair and stairs going between the levels. The lair includes climbing bars, and equipment storage and computer screens like this new one in season 2: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130721211456/arrow/images/5/51/Aa.png Merlyn tower final battle £89.99 Includes Arrow, Oliver queen (blazer and shirt no tie), Malcolm Merlyn (in black suit with pale blue shirt and purple and patterned tie), Dark archer, John Diggle, Tommy Merlyn (TV show design), Laurel lance (TV show design) The set should comprise of Merlyn tower in a modular style with a large roof with space for fighting. The tower should have 4 levels and a lift system like the death star. The bottom floor should be the reception with a desk and opening doors for the lift, The next floor should be an elevator shaft to recreate the scene in darkness on the edge of town when Oliver uses a grapple gun to swing across to another level. The next floor should be a computer server level. The 4th level should be Merlyn's office with breaking desk features and other statues and ornaments and an opening compartment with space for Merlyn's costume and accessories. Then the roof with a exit from the building and space for arrow and dark archer to battle.

Especially with more movies confirmed to be heading our way in the next few years, an avatar theme could be very successful! Not to mention give us some amazing sets and figures.

As this puts the total up to 5 sets with the addition of Elrond battle I assume that will be the £24.99 set, that means Dol Guldur ambush could turn out to be the £12.99 one which is missing from the line up, Elven outpost sounds like the final title for mirkwood elf army £39.99 Hopefully including azog! Market escape/lake town chase £49.99 then Dol Guldur is the £70-£80 flagship set perhaps. Perhaps there is more like maybe one more with smaug which could be the £59.99 one perhaps an exclusive like barrel escape but it fits into bag end price bracket. Explaining why it hasn't been rumoured for the retail list as it may be a Lego exclusive. Unless they are saving smaug til the December 2014 line. Radagast would most likely turn up in the Dol Guldur big set. The Elrond one being an add on is a good theory though.

Afraid not. The show isn't aimed at Lego's target audience due to it being shown after the watershed. Plus there have never been toy ranges whatsoever for Sherlock unlike doctor who. If there were, character options would hold the monopoly on construction sets and figures. So it is unlikely Lego will ever get Sherlock unless they get doctor who because character realises that their sets are of poor quality and is causing low sales. Then again they'd never decide that. Despite both things being true.
-
Indeed. The facial design is clearly the same as the CG one shown in the earlier photo. This was just a better close up.
-
He never was completely white in the film it is clear that when you watch he is a beige colour between white and tan. So making him white would be illogical. I think that grievous will probably share the design of the yoda chronicles one as that is very ep 3 accurate facially: Hoping for that cape too. This figure should be great judging by the facial design and the eyes and hopefully they'll whack that cape on him. Did I mention he needs a cape? also looks like Vader is back in a set next year as there is an awesome cg of him. Nothing different to previous variant but hopefully he will be in a system set.: http://behance.vo.llnwd.net/profiles15/908969/projects/10371765/91949fc794b86124799e5fedb53a1b20.jpg

If there was a license it would be with warner bros for the next film and maybe have sets for the last two, as Lego's target audience are unlikely to have read the books but may have heard of Holmes and seen the RDJ films. To be quite honest although Downey Jr's portrayal was different and no one can beat the great Jeremy Brett in the role of Sherlock Holmes, I thought the films were very well done and both invented their own adaptations of popular stories and included nods to the books but still made it an enjoyable action packed extravaganza. The Film really was a master class in cinematography. Had I not known Robert Downey JR from iron man. I would never had suspected he was American as I am from and in Britain. I can say his accent was superb and his mannerisms and demeanour were everything I'd both expect from someone in the 1800s England and the character himself. Still back to subject I would not mind in the least if they did a RDJ Lego Sherlock Holmes 1,2,3 line with warner. I'd buy it all and I'm sure it would be a very popular line.

My top 3: Eowyn vs. the witch king A small prologue set would be nice with the king, esildor and sauron if for no other reason to get a minifigure scale sauron. Gandalf vs. the balrog at kazhadum. Just the bridge with a collapsing feature and the balrog from the videogame. It would also give people who didn't get orthanc the chance to get a Gandalf with cape and hair unless he didn't wear one in that scene in which case this set could also include moria orcs perhaps with helmets and one with a bow and arrow. maybe they could also include boromir as he has only been included in one set so far of the line.
-
what would be cool to see in the future is like Knight's kingdom but in the far future with futuristic technology. that would be something quite new and a bit of nostalgic of the Knight's Kingdom line of long ago. So like the knights and vladek with lasers and futuristic armour that looks like knight armour but from the future. There could also be futuristic castles and stuff like that! Just a crazy idea!
-
Personally I'd have liked to see perhaps the return of the night's kingdom line or maybe a line set in the future where vladek has been resurrected by a sci fi scorpion army with modern tech and swords against the descendants of the knights in knight's kingdom and the king. Think about it! They could still have horses but it could have futuristic medieval tech. Like a catapult that fires lasers or a futuristic castle with cannons and acid. They could use holographic (trans blue, green, purple or red) shields but still have swords perhaps in the sword mold but different colours that have energy running through them (trans blue, red, green, purple). There could also be like hover battle wagons but like with the old symbol for vladek and the knights. There could also be hover cars and motorbikes. It would be like knight's kingdom in the very far future. On topic awesome moc really evokes what knight's kingdom used to.

Personally I have talked to Argos and they said that they were flying off the shelves. The set I wanted (wizard battle) was not in stock due to the high demand for lotr sets in my local Argos and the guy happened to mention that they were quite the money-spinner. Apart from that yes I suppose due to the general amount of people I have seen and know who own/collect or want LOTR sets is quite a large number. Even my college tutor was giddy over seeing them. I guess no statistics or evidence like that but a lot of personal experience and what I've read online.
-
I think there most likely will be 2014 lotr sets. Think about it lotr this year and the year before has been quite a popular line which along with star wars has really been the backbone of the summer line. This year as Lone Ranger's movie has had some(critic)technical difficulties, they have become the two big flagship lines of 2013 summer. Next year there are marvel movies in early 2014 but only one summer movie so the sets will be sort of April time. Without the support of superheroes in the summer, Lego will only have star wars as a well known flagship summer line! They'll need Lotr to share the load plus there are some good set opportunities and lotr deserves a proper finish. The winter waves will be good in 2013 and 2014 as they will have the hobbit sets of desolation and the next hobbit movie. Their summer line for 2014 will only have star wars to flagship the sets so it is highly logical for another wave of lotr in summer 2014. these would be the only two lines of the summer for licensed themes so it is logical to have more LOTR. We will hopefully find out if there is a preview in the DOS instruction manuals from the 2013 winter wave sets. This was the case last year.

One of the sets in the set list is set at the nuclear power plant and has homer's control booth. They still make iconic locations even though figures are very successful the set is what people buy. Kids care about play features but as this isn't a kid show these sets will most likely be aimed at an older audience say mid teens-adults. There are a lot of locations in the franchise actually plus some quite colourful ones at that. Minifigures are a high priority but that doesn't mean Lego doesn't care about the sets as much as figures. Just see the lone ranger sets. Brilliantly detailed figures and pretty well made sets. This theme may be good but as there is a low number of figures in the prelim set list I think this is more about the sets themselves and getting accuracy with the television show in both figures and sets.
