There is still hope for asm 2 spidey! Lego wouldn't even be allowed to make an exclusive unless Disney had merch rights for asm 2 and judging by this that spiderman is a preview figure of a wave of asm 2 sets in early 2014 to tie in with release date! -

Yeah hopefully asm next year. I'd prefer they ditched gotg if it meant getting asm 2 sets! I would think they would be announced pretty soon after the winter range as the movie is out 18th April in the uk!!! Which is earlier than asm! That's also the month cap comes out! April 4th. Wow either cap and Spidey only get 2 sets each or cap gets the winter line with thor 2. Then Spidey gets April line or maybe march depending on how long before movie they want sets selling! -

Damn green arrow I really wanted to see in an arrow based set. God damn it Lego!!!! Why do you have to make these foolhardy exclusives when you know people will want them most? Put them in sets and have done with it. That's amazing Spiderman 2's suit! guess that eliminates chances for sets from amazing Spiderman 2 then! -
Nope McCoy confirmed dos had that sequence to his knowledge. Jackson even said that there will be a confrontation with the necromancer in dos in the article in the empire magazine and also that the necromancer will be a key part of this film Yes it does mean dale as tauriel's actor confirmed this in the video blog when they are talking about pickups in dale!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I highly doubt they will make sets based on it. Thor the dark world and Captain America: The winter soldier are the next two big marvel movies and they are the most well known and the two that will draw the largest audience especially Lego's target age range. I'm not planning on even seeing the gotg movie unless the trailer impresses me! When I talked to some of my mates today they claimed they'd never heard of the gotg. I even asked an older marvel fan and he had no idea who they were. I agree with the hate on usm but the sets are far from badly designed. The sets themselves are as good as the avengers and xmen one and it gives a good opportunity to get some Spidey villains and other characters. -
Tis a bit blocky looking I thought when I first saw it. You are talking about the mini one right? If not then no I really don't mind the big one. I never got the 2008 big one so this will be my first if I end up purchasing it.
-
Indeed there was no stealing involved. The large sets have serious issues but the smaller Tardis exterior and the figures of that range are really impressive and blend and fit in well with Lego's. As much as I'd like to see doctor who Lego. The current owners are doing a bang up job and as it is the only doctor who construction line it will have to do. Besides they are getting better with the sets as time goes on and the figure moulding is fantastic. I prefer Lego for sure but these fit in quite nicely in the place Lego can't go (rather like the trenzalore of building products). The star trek Hasbro stuff is garbage though. The figures look like terrible Lego rip offs at least character's figures look original.

Marvel: F4, silver surfer, Odin (Hopkins), professor Xavier, mysterio, green goblin , red skull, baron zemo, the lizard dc: Alfred, Ras al ghul, batgirl, gold armoured jor el(mos),batman (grey and black design to pay homage to 2006 line), zod (krypton armour mos), darkseid, the flash, green lantern, Martian manhunter, man bat , Nightwing. I'd be surprised if gotg sets even come out. I haven't met a kid in my life who knows them and even I was stumped as to who they were when I heard about the movie! I only recognised nova because he was in that awful Spiderman show. I would doubt Lego would spend a wave of sets on characters with such a low level of exposure to kids. I think it'll be thor 2 this autumn and cap in 2014 maybe with some comic sets and some ultimate Spiderman. Yeah I hope to see the F4 in the winter wave. Everyone knows who they are especially kids they know their powers and what they are like. Its not like they are really obscure characters no one has even heard of. I reckon we could see them minus the boots though. Lego usually base the design of the minifigures in game on figures they are planning. Examples: davy jones, bootstrap bill, Mola ram, short round, Willie Scott all released in sets after their videogame incarnations. It could happen with the 4 I hope! Wouldn't mind some xmen too.

I'd just be happy if she was in her uniform and 1 you could use your imagination and two she could be holding trans clear force field pieces. Were there any shows in 2012 still running on TV of batman? No! As brave and the bold was cancelled in 2011. Yet he still got a full wave of sets based on comic book appearances! Kids know the F4 anyway and they are constantly guest starring in other marvel animated and videogame media. The point is Lego make up their own scenarios and put in characters that are most popular apart from the movie sets which are based off the films. The F4 are really popular with kids. There hasn't been media about them for years but I still see kids playing with their action figures and wearing their emblems on their t-shirts. Plus when I went to the states last we went to marvel island at universal and the F4 were there with kids for photo ops and riding motorcycles right up there with wolverine cap and Spiderman. The queue for the F4 was so long that it put some people off queuing up! The point is Lego can still make comic based sets considering they only have two big mcu movies in the next year Thro and cap. I doubt guardians of the galaxy will get many sets maybe 1 if marvel want one but I'm pretty sure not many kids have even heard of gotg unless they watched that one off episode of emh. What I'm saying is with only cap in the 2014 line they will have to make their own scenario comic sets and maybe some ultimate Spiderman. I would estimate if there are going to be thor 2 sets they would be released November- December 2013 to publicise the film's release. -

Indeed we will. Hopefully it is so. -
Yeah 8 is probably best! The biggest ones probably being: Dol Guldur and this huge epic showdown pj has mentioned. If we don't get azog this time it will be such a shame! He looks to be a key part of the hobbit franchise. I reckon we'll see: azog and bolg, some orcs, radagast, Gandalf(yet again), Bilbo (blue jacket from dos trailer or maybe red but with webs). The dwarves in different costumes to unexpected journey, elves and thrandruil, The necromancer and bard as he seems to have a larger part than just the book says judging by the video blog of peter Jackson for the film.

On the contrary I think Dol Guldur would be quite a large set considering what McCoy has said happens there in book two involving our dear friend the necromancer and all of the wizards.... I also read empire's big bit on dos and apparently the final action bit towards the end of the film is the largest action set piece pj has ever attempted (according to Fran Walsh). Involving fire, artillery, dwarves and "one really pissed off dragon". Jackson said because in the book the dwarves never had a definitive final showdown with their dragon nemesis and he always felt that was lacking. He said he has fixed that as mentioned above and it is spectacular! There will be a lot of lake town, elf kingdoms, orcs azog and his son and the necromancer confrontation. he said the 3rd film would be spectacular and involve a certain battle with an undeterminable number of armies. Read the interview he has some killer stuff planned. personally the main flagship set I reckon will be this final confrontation he talks of.

I would like so see some older series stuff too like night sisters and mother talzin. The problem is with the series ending its unlikely they would revisit earlier seasons for potential sets. The audience for the sets may become disinterested in the theme which is why Lego will probably discontinue it. I'm still annoyed that Disney cancelled cw before the end of the show, we will never get to see the battle of coruscant in its full glory! Which is sad :( If the rebel show is bad and teen angsty then it will prove one thing. Disney can't make a good show if their careers depended on it.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
No I know that 'rule'. I was just assuming as they would want to expand their marvel universe with some comic based sets. They most likely would take this path as they only have two big popular character mcu movies. Which means it could play out like this: November/December 2013: Thor the dark world sets. I would estimate at least 1. Winter wave: 1 more ultimate spider man set, maybe one or two comic based sets. March-April 3 captain America 2 sets. That is all the movie based sets we are likely to get unless Sony did sign over the merch rights to marvel like it was reported they did if so that means maybe Amazing Spiderman 2 sets. the likelihood of gotg sets is very low as they don't have the same exposure to kids that the avengers and other mainstream marvel heroes do. The F4 and silver surfer on the other hand could happen as they are really popular marvel characters that frequently guest star in marvel television shows and animated movies. The chrome thing is a minor problem. As it is a one off for an immensely popular character, Lego may feel the need to do a chrome surfer. We had already discussed that an orange fire printed torch would work way better than a see through one. It could have both black outline of the uniform printing and the details of being on fire.P.S: Mola ram was released in 2009 in the second wave as was short round. Beloq was in the first wave anyway. -

Good point. F4 uniform torso with orange colour on the whole figure with fire details and a double sided head also use same hair as the videogame one but in orange. if they wanted to be super accurate they could include both normal and fire ones in the same set. I reckon the stretch of Mr fantastic will have to rely on imagination as I doubt they will do a stretched out version! he'll also have a two toned hairpiece judging by the poster. -
I think if we got a cw eta it would most likely be from the darth maul Mandalore arc and have a cw sidious as a lot of people have requested one and it was quite a stand out moment of the cw. for senate duel 24.99 just wouldn't work as they'd have to include the podium and more figures than yoda palpatine and a shock trooper to satisfy fan demand. Its one of the largest duels of the saga so it deserves at least a £50 set ideally £60like palpatine's arrest. I doubt we will see another venator as the last one was only 2009 and that sucked! The look of it is alright but the scale is off and the design is terrible always bits falling off it and that lift up front to get to palpatine's office always comes off no matter how gently you pull it. Terribly designed set just like the malevolence. if there must be a destroyer then let it be either rots or ot. I do reckon that we will only see Lego sets from clone wars 5th and bonus content series and I reckon after 2014 the clone wars sub-line will be discontinued due to the show ending.

Same! I could never justify spending £50 on just the hulk as all the other figures are obtainable through other sets and I had and the set itself is to simple for £50. I might just have to get him off eBay for about £20-£25 unless Lego release him in a set next year! -

That game looks amazing! Hope this is the signal we get the F4 maybe in the winter range! Comic based sets Disney are well within rights to make. Heck they could just say we are basing them off our own videogame! Hopefully they will reveal them figures at comic con in a few days for the winter line! -
Yeah same here! Definitely design wise it is one of the better themes of Lego's long history. Each set is so detailed and only one of the sets I believe has stickers which just shows with bricks and printed parts Lego can make incredibly detailed sets for ranges. The figure printing and moulding is definitely something to admire as the new printed torsos and legs are brilliant and the moulding on the pistols the hats and the hairpieces is expertly done. Plus once done it all fits together into one big layout with the train track! Can't wait to own all these sets and especially animations with the train the potential is fantastic. The train has to be one of the most detailed system sets they've so far done!
