Just saw Thor The Dark World!!!! Lego's decision not to make sets is terrible! There was so much set potential in that movie it is unreal!! So many good minfigure ideas and play features and locations. This definitely beats Iron Man 3 hands down it has the perfect mix of humour and plot and action. Such a shame that Disney did not instruct Lego to make a range of sets. They could have made at least 4 based on this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it more than any other marvel movie and it is very disappointing to see Disney and Lego pass up on such a brilliant opportunity. I hold out hope we may see a set based on the film as an exclusive in the future but that hope is sadly slim!

Plus this time Disney haven't majorly changed anything about the film in the final stages after Lego has made sets like reducing the importance of a pivotal character in iron man 3. People have seen thor 2 and there is apparently nothing like that in the film. So Disney should've told Lego to make a range of sets based on cap 2 and thor 2 but instead for some completely foolish reason decided to promote one of the worst made animated shows on television plus they used the voice actors from that show In the Lego videogame which is as hardly of that cast understand what the characters are supposed to sound like especially not the iron man/tony stark voice actor. Wish they'd kept the EMH guy on as him but that's off topic. Back on topic its a shame to get no movie tie in sets for two of marvel's largest movies of the year but at least we have some new villains and possibly new design main characters which should be good plus two new heroes.

Good news Red skull is present and accounted for in the 2014 sets in a set with captain America fighting him and a hydra soldier with a motorbike against a jeep. Just came up on the main thread for rumours and news and I thought i'd inform those here as this is a moc about skull. Great news that finally we will have an official Red Skull to combat our captain.

Yes so much missed potential by going with a run of the mill (most likely to be short lived) television series rather than big character filled and potential blockbuster movies. Still at least we get some new villains and red skull is cool to get.

So to sum up this wave it appears we have quite a few new figures/designs. Dc: Batman (black, grey and dark blue aqua suit), Robin (new hooded with green classic design), Nightwing (new 52), Batgirl, man bat, New joker, possible new penguin, new riddler, new henchman and the flash. Marvel: Spiderman possibly with a new dark blue variant in one set, Green goblin (USM), power man, Mary Jane Watson, updated or new doc ock, electro, a driver, Captain America (possibly a new design), thor (possibly a new design) and hulk maybe with new pants, Task master, modok, finally a red skull, falcon and a hydra agent. Not bad for the winter/spring line. The summer will be xmen hopefully yielding some new characters and guardians of the galaxy which I have no idea of what to expect from that.

After the mention of the black hood(stand in for white) with white cape and grey face and plus the fact he has orange arms and a possible dark blue torso taskmaster seems the only candidate that would fit. My guess is the grey face will be printed with a skull on the final version the only thing that doesn't quite add up is the orange legs. Thw shield and sword design sound very taskmaster. I'm happy to finally see red skull in a set as that was a huge gap in our collections and with a hydra agent no less or maybe even baron strucker. What colour was the prelim captain America figure light blue?, Dark blue? if he is based on the comics as it seems these sets are based on some kind of cartoon/comic then we could see a lighter variation of cap hopefully. It would be nice also to either get a TDW thor design or a comic styled one like in the avengers EMH. Overall this wave is shaping up to be quite alright. I'm sure people will start to realise who this mystery villain is when the prelims leak like they did with the Spiderman and dc sets. To be quite honest if it was hob goblin that would be fantastic! I remember mark Hamill portraying him in the old 1994 animated TV series and every word that came out of his mouth was comedy gold like what Hamill did with the joker so to get a figure of him would be superb.

Perplexing... What sort of shield/sword was it? Was the purple and orange split so the legs had orange bits and the torso purple or was it sort of just distributed through the design. What fleshie head did it use? Did the face have any expression? I can't put my finger on who this is as none of my thoughts seem to match up an image of a character with the character you describe. Unless did he look like this guy? http://images1.wikia...Hobgoblin.gifI The Fleshie could be a stand in for olive green face and the black hood and cape could be a stand in for a purple hood and cape. Just a thought there.

Just a thought it could be baron zemo as he wields a sword and has a purple costume not sure about the orange though. Then again zemo isn't usually wearing a cloak or carrying a shield. To be quite honest it would be a shame if it is Zola as he is a pretty pathetic villain and not one well known or cool enough to kids to highline a set as it's villain even in a supporting role. Task master seems likely due to the purple could've been mistaken from dark blue which task master wears and the orange has been part of his costume from the beginning. It is a shame though I was hoping to at least see Malekith in perhaps his tdw costume in the set it seems a bit odd to throw in Zola or taskmaster who are not the most well known characters of marvel over villains like Malekith, Zemo or any other well known villain we do not yet own. That'd be superb!!! Apart from that I have no ideas unless the purple and orange are stand ins for something else.

Could the stand in ock actually be a prototype for this? http://www.fbtb.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Mighty-Avengers-1-LEGO-Variant.jpg It is an all green costume so would be fairly easy for Lego to print and would look a lot better than the USM variation. Even in the prelim for the original USm set ock was grey with black long hair so clearly they had the design they could've used as a stand in. The game design would be ideal with the torso and printed legs of the lab coat and the metal harness visible on the torso. I've always wanted the 2004 ock but eBay for him is sooo expensive I've never committed and bit the bullet on it. Hopefully this means I won't have to!

It was said all the marvel ones confirmed (Spiderman and avengers) would be in march. I reckon as Xmen DOFP is released end of may in the UK that we will see the Xmen wave in may. This is how I predict it going: Dc January, marvel avengers and Spiderman sets in march. xmen in may-June then guardians of the galaxy in July-august.

Black and gold batman!!!! Awesome!!!!! Looking good those. Hope we see some leaked marvel figures soon. I reckon maybe for this wave they are paying tribute by having the black and gold design return with the new face plus the gold design fits in with batgirl's you can't have a gold and black batgirl next to a black and yellow batman it would just look odd! I like juniors batman and robin so I may end up getting that for those two.

The fact the Spiderman in the doc ock set is dark blue may suggest a new variant as the other set's spider men are Bright blue. Maybe the one in the doc ock set is an ASM variant? happy to see doc ock is not the USM variant, hopefully he will be a comics variant when finished. I'm glad to see the spider copter has power man and gobby's glider as well. the batman sets look cool. I'm intrigued to see robin return in green red and yellow in the steamroller set plus batgirl. Nice to see Nightwing and a possible new black batman variant against man bat in the helicopter set. Overall I like this wave now that I've actually seen it!

It looks better than what I thought it might look like! I thought Lego would just put the normal red trike mold in there but this actually at least looks relatively interesting. It reminds me of a very very tall dune buggy to be quite honest. Quite a large vehicle for a £13 set then again this is probably other than the villain the only thing included in the set. Seeing it in gameplay actually the helicopter is quite a cool design can't see myself paying £50 for that alone unless gobby's glider is included. To be quite honest even though I like the ultimate goblin the one in the videogame is far superior and has a cool glider/ design.

Maybe the mouth mask will be printed on one side of the face with the goggles and the other side with no goggles for winter soldier. Seems to me the best way to do it. Yeah they got to include the red star they've done arm printing on darth maul so why is it so difficult to print one red star. Answer: its really not difficult whatsoever! I wonder if they will do a normal grey arm for WS or if they will do a chrome silver one. I'm gonna guess grey with a shiny finish or just normal grey.

It looks dark green to me. Certainly the same sort of dark green as Doom's cape is what I think Lego may use. then again Black would be cool as well. Either way I think its safe to say after seeing the trailer that it is highly likely that captain America on motorbike set is from the winter soldier movie. MY hopes for the set are that it will include: Captain America (TWS suit), The winter soldier (TWS) and black widow (tws) then again nick fury (would be cooler) would be a clearer choice as they mention a jeep in the prelim description which is what fury was in when it got flipped in the trailer. That sounds about right to me. Wow the new printing and moulding on tarful is excellent! Finally Lego has done a proper ROTS accurate Kenobi!! This wave looks brilliant so far.

I don't see how this discussion is Yeah a helicarrier set would be amazing. Hopefully we may see one in the future maybe as an exclusive for avengers 2. That is if they decide to make larger marvel sets which would be very cool. There is certainly some potential there.

According to a new clip today of Loki and Thor stealing some sort of space craft. I'd say thor the dark world not having set potential or vehicles in the movie is no longer a relevant argument!

True. Then again perhaps as there is no full confirmation what will appear in the final marvel "avengers sets" and as one of the them is highly leaning towards being a Captain America 2 set perhaps the other set will either be: An Avengers set with Malekith as the black hood could've been a placeholder for the new moulded piece shown off on the poster, Thor could be TDW design or the whole set could be completely different from the preliminary. It could be a TDW set after all. The way that would work is: Thor and and the hooded person are thor and Malekith, the big fig is Kurse who appears to be an agent of Malekith not sure how the last two figures would fit in really. To be honest though if the black hooded person is Malekith and Thor is TDW design then I'd be happy even if it was a made up Lego videogame based set. If it turns out it is then either way I'm pretty sure Thor will have a new design as Lego don't reuse marvel superhero designs other wise tony stark's head and armour wouldn't have been redesigned for the IM3 wave. I hope when we see real pictures of the finished sets that they will look better than the prelims sound.

What I am most bemused about currently is the fact that Thor The Dark World already is getting positive responses, yet the best Lego can do is flaunt impressive minfigure designs for the characters on a poster and then restrict them to a videogame. Really we should be getting at least one Thor The Dark World set. Instead we get three very juvenile sounding Spiderman sets one with an outrageous price tag and one with a recycled villain that was the most unpopular version of the character ever. I have no issues with the sounds of the "avengers sets" such as modok, winter soldier, a new variant of Captain America and whoever the black hooded person was sound good. What I have issue with is Thor the dark world and amazing spider man 2 which seem to be very anticipated movies are being snubbed in favour of two, in my opinion rather juvenile run of the mill television shows. In my opinion although the avengers set with modok sounds very interesting I would have preferred to see one with the likes of Odin, Jane foster, Malekith the accursed and perhaps the warriors three. After those brilliant designs they showed us it just seems such a shame that they will never be in sets. In 2011 after seeing the first thor I couldn't help but think wow it would be cool if there were Lego sets of it. So as we came round to the second film and in knowledge that Lego had the authority to make marvel movie sets. I can't help but be a bit disappointed that Thor 2 has missed out on sets especially after the slightly disappointing iron man 3 sets this year. Thankfully the winter soldier seems to be getting a set in the march wave and guardians of the galaxy has sets confirmed coming along with X-men sets. Hopefully the hooded figure in the avengers set is Malekith as in the poster he is wearing a new hooded piece and a black regular hood could've been supplied as a stand in. if this is the case and thor is TDW design then it will be fine but it is a shame we probably will never see Odin, Heimdall, Jane or the warriors three.
