  1. My ideas for next year based on big events of that movie that have been alluded to 3 sets based on the battle of the five armies: each includes parts of a ruined dale which is where the battle appears to take place. Minifigures for set 1: Tauriel,, 3 dwarf warriors, 2 armoured orcs, nori £24.99 set 2: Thranduil (armoured), kili (battle armour), 3 elf warriors (armoured), 2 armoured orcs, Thorin (BO5A) £34.99 set 3: Bilbo, bard (armoured?), Bolg (armoured?), 3 of whatever army men have 2 armoured orcs £39.99 £100: Dol Guldur assault: Includes huge fortress of Dol Guldur with ruined arch ways and platforms and bridges and walkways about size of helm's deep. Minifigures: Gandalf (injured), Galadriel, Saruman, Radagast the brown, Armoured Elrond, Sauron 3 orcs or maybe ring wraiths. Set also includes white warg, Elrond and Gandalf's horses. £130 Smaug attacks: Includes giant either moulded or brick built Smaug with all the details and pose-ability also includes Guard tower with wind-lance bow and black harpoon arrow launching mechanism, also includes bard's house with a reasonable interior and destructing functions also includes curved foot-bridge which leads to the town hall with wooden platform. There is also a big statue of the master with falling down and exploding feature (because we are all hoping Smaug destroys that in TABA). Also includes two rowboats and a warg. Minifigures: Bard. Bofur, oin, tauriel(casual), captain of the guard of laketown. 2 laketown soldiers, Bain (bard's son) and one orc. £150: Erebor incudes huge mountain play-set enclosed so the outside front looks like a mountain with gates and statues and a pathway out. Then the inside has various walkways and chambers including the throne of the king and a chamber with lots of gold the west guardroom with skeletons and the armoury. Minfigures: Thorin (BO5A), Bilbo Baggins, Beorn (bear form), Azog the defiler, Bolg, Dain iron foot, balin, dwalin, gloin, 2 armoured orcs and an eagle and Gandalf the grey.
  2. Faefrost: In the movie universe rad isn't mentioned or referred to. Sylvester McCoy (Radagast) has already stated several times that he is using Gandalf's staff from FOTR. Plus in a lot of the pickup filming for TABA Gandalf appears to be holding radagast staff with radagast nowhere in sight. Then remember what happened in DOS: So he would need a new one and it makes sense that he would use the one he has in LOTR and as rad's actor has said the two staffs are one in the same and that this would be elaborated on later in the hobbit trilogy. My guess: Azog or sauron kills radagast during the escape and Gandalf who is defenceless picks up rad's staff and escapes. Then rad's death would be the perfect spark to convince saruman and the council to attack Dol Guldur to avenge radagast. Just a prediction I would wager we will get one more Dol Guldur based set for there and back again as it has been implied that TABA will resolve the Dol Guldur plotline.
  3. Good point! Brick built or moulded I hope we see him in some form or other. You are correct it would probs be closer to £120!
  4. Just had a great idea of a set they could do next year as an exclusive to bridge the gap between DOS and TABA. read at our own risk, possible spoilers may follow for those who have not seen the desolation of Smaug. OK I warned you... Minifigures: Bilbo: http://www.praguepos...ation-smaug.jpg Thorin: http://media-cache-a...7fcd3319960.jpg Balin, dwalin , bifur: http://latimesheroco...g_282.jpg?w=600 and bombur. This would make a good excusive set before the there and back again
  5. I think that as radagast went off to fetch the white council that we'll see him return with Saruman, Galadriel and Elrond come and rescue Gandalf then I reckon as Gandalf appears to be using rad's staff that in the movie universe rad will die in the escape/battle. Then whilst Gandalf goes to erebor to warn them about impending orc doom the council will attempt to send the necromancer packing! So I could definitely see another Dol Guldur based set in the cards. Radagast could fetch beorn as well I guess! Then whilst the wizards fight the dark one, the battle of the five armies starts with the film crisscrossing between the two. Plus sir Christopher lee said he was in this one a lot and involved lots of fighting and swordplay at Dol Guldur so who knows I guess.. Plus the Lego designers even said that DGB was meant to b a courtyard and we saw loads of those Gandalf walking around. I think it perfectly captures the feel of ruined courtyard. I think after seeing the movie that It is the courtyard where azog ambushes him. I'm seeing it again tomorrow in IMAX so I'll be able to see it larger and in more detail. AS many have already said I think that it is a combo of rad's visit in AUJ and Gandalf's visit in DOS minifigure wise explaining rad's inclusion and the AUJ design necromancer.
  6. Elrond: If you refer to the closed eyes ones then they are asleep due to being knocked unconscious and chained to the bottom of the black lake. As they are in the film and the book.
  7. Interesting point. I was referring to the alluded showdown between the wizards and sauron which Christopher lee recently alluded to as well as when it was two movies Sylvester McCoy mentioned "an excellent scene in the second one involving all of the wizards in Dol Guldur fighting something else". I don't expect any of the wizards other than Gandalf to be involved in the BOFA. I suspect as Smaug attacks laketown, the wizards will launch a mission to free Gandalf and as the movie progresses the wizards will fight sauron's forces at Dol Guldur and whatever happens with Smaug will happen. Then Gandalf will travel to erebor to see how the dwarves are getting on then tension will mount to the battle until it happens then while the remains of the council fight sauron and force him out of Dol Guldur then the BOFA will intercut between both. Jus my guess. Judging certainly by the film's confirmed cast! Indeed the fact he did not sense him when he was in Mirkwood is odd then again his powers are greatly weakened in that form.
  8. Indeed you hit the nail on the head fives. That's exactly what I'm doing getting all the DOS sets then having the dwarves, spiders, orcs, wizards elves and wargs and beorn and uruks all battle it out in Dol Guldur's ruins. Once complete it will be quite the display. Even though the necromancer isn't exactly like he is in DOS he still is a not fully formed character although from DOS I can guess he can take a few different shapes. He may have just used the one he did to show Gandalf who he is! So until we get the armoured version in 2014 I'm happy with their AUJ one.
  9. That is good news hopefully I will have similar luck as it is the only 2013 figure other than the comic con ones which I'm not to fussed about that I don't have and would finish my marvel collection this year beautifully.
  10. I hope he is under £200 because kids and parents won't want to pay that sort of money for a ginormous dragon and I think it would be unfair if only the elite people who can afford the sets such as the death star missed out on getting the most iconic villain of the movie. I'd say it'd have to be £160 at most any higher and people may shy away from purchasing. I mean I love orthanc and It just is huge but it is too much money at the moment to pull the trigger on. What I think we will get Is a £130 set with Smaug attacking lake town including the tower with the Giant crossbow and maybe some other Lake-town structures such as the town hall and the footbridge and some other stuff plus quite a few figures. Unless they do Erebor and Smaug in a large set together!
  11. Saw the movie today! I was literally blown away!!!!! Have to say I'm disappointed with the DOS sets. The Beorn set is ridiculous and could've just been added to the Dol Guldur set. The Dol Guldur battle I rather like except the necromancer of the set is not based on AUJ or DOS designs! After seeing him in DOS I really wanted that version! Last year's DOS sets I really love and I'm glad we have a decent amount of orcs to make Azog's hunting party in this wave. The minifigures other than the necromancer are dead on! I would've liked some dwarves in DOS clothing and Bolg but apart from that minifigure wise I am very impressed with although I guess the necromancer may be a AUJ representation so I'll give it that but I want to see a proper one and Smaug next year!
  12. I might be alone in this but does anyone feel like we only have 2/1/2 sets that seem to appear in the movie? I mean I haven't seen it but my impression from the trailer is that MEA is great but I'd have preferred the barrel river sequence. The outpost is a nice wall but to those who have seen the movie, is there anything that looks like that in it? I would've liked to see the barrel bit with maybe two dwarves in DOS attire, 2 orcs then maybe legolas, tauriel and a generic elf. I mean I like the elves wall and especially the figures. I just feel only doing one set involving one dwarf for a movie where they are the main characters is a bit odd. I think had Lego done six sets they could've put in one or two more actual movie scenes rather than beorn and a doorway he has never set foot near plus some new orcs. Just an opinion here, I'm glad last year's preview sets are very accurate compared to two of this year's. I can at least recreate four scenes from DOS would've been better if all the sets were actual scenes like 2012's but included some of the good figures we got this wave.
  13. I agree deskp that is an amazing list of 2014 sets that's what I reckon we'll see! All those sets would be on my hit list for next Dec
  14. I'm seeing it tomorrow! I'm very much looking forward to seeing it especially to see the necromancer scenes. Does he at least look a bit like lego's?
  15. Indeed by the look of the production blogs the armies appear to fight at least part of the battle in ruined dale.
  16. Based on what we know I can guess we may get in wave 3: Another Dol Guldur set including Saruman, Galadriel and Elrond in battle armour and hopefully a beaten up looking Gandalf judging by the trailers for DOS. A set with Smaug as we are without one this year. Perhaps he survives to the end credits of DOS that would be god reason we don't have him this year Then a large Erebor set with a lot of minifigures I'd guess Then 3 other sets for the battle of the five armies revolving by the looks of it around the ruined city of dale. 6 sets started the range so six should finish it.
  17. After hearing that.... I'M REALLY EXCITED FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS NOW! Saruman is one of my all time favourite wizards and characters! So it'll be great to see Sir Christopher back in the role and doing a bit of fighting with the necromancer!
  18. My Ideas for summer waves: DC: Jor El Citadel escape £49.99: includes Jor El's citadel a half dome building with a circular landing platform inside is an extended curved plate like with jabba's place with a claw holding superman's pod and various curved triangular structures near the walls. There is also a control panel with krypton tech displays on it. Also included is jor el's dragon type creature haraka and zod's gunship with cockpit and an open compartment to place figures in. The citadel has a circular door (like bag end) printed with the crest of the house of el that has a fall out of structure feature. Minfigures: Jor El: In new moulded armour of the house of el, using Luke skywalker's 2012 hairpiece in dark brown with a reddish brown cape and a rifle. General Zod in dark brown krypton military amour with his crest and a back cape no helmet uses his current hairpiece. 2 krypton guards wearing similar armour to zod one bald and one with mutt Williams style brown hair, lara in her dress with long brown hair and kelex a robot with face that Is a screen (printed). Arrow vs. The Dark Archer £19.99 Based on the arrow TV show includes arrow's dark green quad bike and a black sports car for the dark archer. Figures include: Arrow/Oliver Queen in his costume from the TV show, dark archer (TV show version) and John Diggle with pistol. Marvel: Anything from thor the dark world and hopefully something for cap 2.
  19. Indeed it was the most successful Luna. A shame Lego made such a mess of the final wave which could have been so excellent if they had made accurate deathly hallows part 2 sets!
  20. To any interested here is the newest tv spot showing off I think one of the scenes DGB is based on!
  21. I concur! I've got my tickets booked for Friday morning so i'll be able to see what this scene looks like in full glory. In the meantime this tv spot shows some of the scene in full glory:
  22. I admit a classic goblin would've been nice as we have a classic ock. However the only GG I have is the Sam rami version and that is such an old figure that the gold printing on the helmet has almost completely faded. So I welcome a new figure of GG and personally I think this design looks very high tech and truthfully pretty cool plus the whole idea of him transforming into a goblin creature is pretty unique and a rather new and cool concept. Just a point of interest but when typing on the comment section on site does anyone else find that it misses out letters and you have to go back and retype them? Just it only does this for me on this site no others. Perplexing....
  23. To be quite blunt legodad the final wave of harry potter Lego was poor to extent of Lego didn't even seem to know what they were doing with the finale of one of the most successful film franchises of all time! The character variants didn't look at all like the movie ones, they missed out all the best parts of deathly hallows part 2 they could've made. They basically failed to make any sets remotely to do with one of the highest grossing box office movies of this decade! Then all the stuff they could've put into sets they showed off in a videogame yet the lone ranger wave this year which box office wise was not even a one hit wonder got a full wave of very accurate sets!
  24. I've also noticed the avengers set figures look similar to EMH as well as AA. So if you don't like the Avengers Assemble show (like myself) you can use them as EMH variants or comic variants! I mean the USM sets I just use as general marvel superheroes! Everything seems to link back to the Lego marvel superheroes videogame variant wise in all sets so that's a good lego are making their own scenarios rather than going with the scenes from the two animated shows.
  25. Finally seeing the sets in their finished forms I love these! The cap set looks much cooler than expected and the figures in all of them are just ace! Beyond glad we get the videogame doc ock as it just looks awesome! Suppose I can live without dark blue Spidey! The electro actually looks really cool and although based on the ultimate Spiderman animated show not far off from the ASM 2 design! Glad to see some more villains for our heroes to fight and even though he is based off his ultimate design gobby looks very high tech and cool! The cap set looks very nice with the huge tank and cap's motorcycle. That's odd I was originally not going to buy nay of these set based on the prelims but now seeing them in true form I really want them all roll on march!! I especially love the minfigure selection lots of good new ones!! I'm a very happy customer!
