Ninjago Movie Screen-Accurate Mech Recreations
Alegrispa replied to GLAP23's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey y'all. I wanna start by saying you've all been doing incredible work. I mean seriously, I wish I could be this deticated about anything. So, I'm interested in building a Destiny's Bounty. I got a copy of the set in 2018 and loved it. Still the biggest set I ever bought, and I liked it so much I bought a second one and followed a video by MOC YOUR BRICKs and build an extra long one out of both. I loved that thing and made a lot of modifications to it, up until I took it apart in late december. I'm not sure why I did it, it just felt like it was time. So I wanted to ask where I could start in building a screen-accurate one, at least in general size and detail. Has anyone made an LDD available? Or does anyone have a collection of reference material? I wouldn't really know where to begin. And again, thank you for all you're inspiring work. -
So far yes.

10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery Discussion
Alegrispa replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oof, idk. I'd love a Space Shuttle set, but Columbia of all things? Why not Enterprise or any of the other four? I saw morons people argue that LEGO allows such brutal things as the Colosseum and (maybe) such tragic things as the Titanic, but it's only been 18 years. The Colosseum has been a sacred landmark for hundreds of years, and I'm pretty sure everyone who knew somebody who died on the Titanic is already dead. If LEGO made a Columbia set 80 years from now, that would be fine, but now just seems too soon. Am I being stupid?- 310 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2021
Alegrispa replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Welcome to Eurobricks! The entitlement of so many in the AFOL community is through the roof. Oddly enough so many people like to whine about minifigs while arguing "LEGO is not a toy!". It's ridiculous. I for one think the colours of this set look quite nice, I always thought the other one looked a little dull. Honestly I'm quite surprised at the reception this set is getting. -

That's a small minded way of looking at things. Bionicle spanned 15 years. Adventurers and Alpha Team had a 3-4 year runs, while Studios and Time Cruisers runs were even shorter. People just love to s*it on Bionicle. They're pathetic. -

Again, I'm not a Bionicle fan, but that's just rude. Bionicle means a lot to a lot of people. And now that it's pretty much a dead theme this is a last glimmer of hope for them. There'll be more chances for classic sets, especially with the success of 21322, but this might be it for Bionicle. This whole thing is stupid anyways, and I'll reiterate; I think they just should've made the anniversary a theme instead of another messy Ideas poll. But patience goes a long way and I think that by the next anniversary they'll do right by all LEGO fans. Damn, I haven't even thought about that. This whole thing is just so very, very stupid. So stupid. -

Bionicle wasn't my first choice (or in my top five), but I'm happy for Bionicle fans. But who in the hell voted for Pirates!?! The Barracuda is still on the shelves, people! -

My three choices are mostly pretty basic Classic Castle; a Yellow Castle remake (Barracuda-style) would absolutley be the best thing that could come out of all of this! Adventurers; those classic sets always looked like a ton of fun to me, and Pharaohs Quest was great! Aquazone; this one is pretty personal. Atlantis is to this day my favourite LEGO theme ever. And my three runner-ups: Classic Space; you can never go wrong with this one (glad to see Space-PigsPolice is separate). Rock Raiders; also personal. Power Miners was my first big theme and it's dear to my heart. Bionicle; I never really got into this theme, but I know how important it is to so many in the community and I'm still hoping for the theme to make a return someday. This whole thing seems kinda cruel though. A lot of these themes don't have a chance. Why not just create a "Classics" theme around the anniversary? How about ten to fifteen $50-150€ sets, each representing a different theme? Maybe just offer it online as to not to take up store-shelf space? An online-exclusive theme wouldn't be that far-fetched considering their recent AFOL push. -

So now with a clear look; I am once again very disappointed. While it isn't terrible, it doesn't look nearly as interesting as the original submission. The roof also looks pretty bad. But worst of all: THERE IS NO GOAT! -

Tends to happen with GWPs. Damn I'm pissed about that car. Altough according to Promobricks that ugly monster-book set is available again. So that gives me a little hope the car might return as well. -

Like I said, not a big Office US fan, so to me it's not something soul-crushing I have to "accept". And I thought Ideas doesn't allow submissions of IPs owned by other brick-makers? Also, first time I've heard of another company having the Office license, weird. Altough not that that was an issue with Doctor Who. My issue is that they keep allow these submissions and giving people false hope. Wasn't there a Gravity Falls project a few years ago they removed before the review-stage? Why not do that with the Office if it's not something they're able to release? Again, this is not about the Office, if this was about any other IP I'd be irritated the exact same way. -
Can't say I recommend this one. I just recently bought this figure and the gold of the body doesn't match the gold of the head at all. Nice detail tho.

Can't wait to see that headpiece!

Honestly guys? If Community doesn't get approved and the Avatar one does (because the ATLA project in the third 2020 review is far superior) I'm frickin' done with Ideas. So much disappointment lately. I try to be positive when it comes to all things LEGO, after all it's a toy, but Ideas was supposed to be us telling them what we want! So why won't they listen to us? I mean, Home Alone? A Globe?! The way the Blacksmith set turned out? The second Discworld project not being approved? And I'm not a big The Office US fan, but geez, the fourth version of it just got approved, people obviously want it and it's not one of the IPs LEGO deems too adult (The Big Bang Theory is both inappropriate and incredibly offensive, so they've got no excuse), so why won't they just make it?! I just wish they were more transparent in their process. Like, do they not choose projects simply because no one on the team is a fan of the IP? Or is there a person who can veto sets they don't like? Who thought it would be a good Idea to try something more niche and then go with Flintstones of all things? What was with that weird Brickheadz contest (and who thought the Frigate and the Bomber stood a chance against the Gunship)? Maybe Ideas just needs a big overhaul. A team change. Swap some people around over there. -
So with the new season it's now most definitley clear this is the most mature license TLG has ever handled.
-
Oof, that hurts to see.

I can't explain how much this delights me. Hahaha.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I never thought they would. -
Hahaha, it's ridiculus how immature some of you can be. All the complaining really does not make the AFOL community look good. So going back to LEGO, what are the chances of a new Fluffy? No doubt they left him/her/them out of the first year sets because it would require at least one new mould. Maybe they also couldn't decide wether to make him partly brickbuild. I personaly would be perfectly happy with the old version, but I doesn:t really fit modern LEGO standards, there is no chance they'll reuse it.

Alegrispa replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Gotta agree. Imagine what they could do with all the new pieces they introduced since the last space theme! But I really don't want it to be conflict based like the last few. The last one that had a good message was Life on Mars in 2001! There's too much conflict in the real world anyways... -

Damn, it's still so far away, but I'm hyped as heck. I was afraid Disney was gonna chicken out after the (imo completely undeserved and intensly immature) TLJ-backlash and play it safe like they did with TFA. But this looks just as fresh as TLJ and those creatures they're riding look sick. What are the chances we'll get new moulds for them in the first two waves? -

Yikes. Never gonna happen. Ole Kirk Christiansen was heavily anti-war.
