HOLY SH*T! It's actually happening!!! I'd be willing to bet actual money that Aaron Newman is on the design team. I mean, it would be a massive waste of talent if he's not and instead really just working on CITY. Personally I'm just hoping to complete my Fellowship. I have two Frodos, two Gandalfs without hats, one Gimli, and one Samwise. Including shipping it would be at least 150 bucks to get the rest.

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

An inconsistently enforced rule to say the least. -
Not at all what I meant. LEGO deserves a slap in the face because of all the stupid things they've been doing lately. Mainly increasing prices despite record profits and declining product quality.

I was rooting for this theme, I'm just very let down. Why do you feel the need to defend a new licensed theme based on one of the most successful movies of all time owned by the biggest media company? ATLA as an IP is in crazy high demand right now, even before they've shown anything from all the projects in development. Sets based on it would absolutely sell better than these sets. While I agree I am guilty of that in the Indy discussion, ATLA is relevant in this discussion on account of it sharing the name Avatar, and that has interfered with both franchises in the past.

Wow, these are just tragic. Bummer. Guessing the theme is not gonna survive past its second wave. I mean, the movie is probably gonna do well, maybe even great, but Avatar merch was never a big draw, not even in 2009. Stuff doesn't even sell at Pandora in Disney Parks. This is gonna be another well deserved slap in The LEGO Groups face, and maybe they'll wake up to the fact that they're betting on the wrong Avatar.

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I was more thinking in terms of shelf-space. LEGO is releasing more and more massive "18+"() sets every year, it's starting to feel like themes have to fight for space now. Half the LEGO store is just black boxes now. Getting real dark in there :/ Also, can we please avoid spoiler talk here? Could we maybe open a separate discussion on Indy 5 sets? -
Wasn't the last big price increase about "equalizing" prices across Europe? TLG is clearly full of it.

Not while she's actively profiting of it. But yeah, let's not get into that. Especially not with a fanboy. I really hope the opening to Raiders gets a set as well. The fertility idol is stupid-expensive on the aftermarket. -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Alegrispa replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I see this Harry Potter discussion as extremely pointless. Don't those sets mostly cover the first four movie anyways? Indy will have five movies the coming year. More than enough for a theme, maybe not the biggest, but certainly good for a handful of sets a year. Ideally they'll retire that Harry Potter (considering the extremely problematic issues surrounding a certain bigoted, old English lady) and replace it with Indiana Jones. -

Y'all, I feel like crying. One of my very first sets as a kid was the Lost Tomb. This is ridiculously exciting to me. Maybe the first theme where I'll get all the sets. -
Just noticed something; the set may be labeled 18+ (for no other reason than to pander to adults who are insecure about buying toys), but the boxart isn't a black void! It looks like a proper set in every way!!!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
Alegrispa replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the exception of the Snowman, this series is an utter fail to me. And it's the de facto 90th anniversary one at that. I mean, four (arguably 3-5) Christmas themed figures? Really?! That's fun! -

Who said anything about getting three at once and through preorder? Also not available for preorder in Europe. -

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Just saw that this is a Mike Psiaki! That dude is probably the best designer at LEGO right now. Still a bit heartbroken he wasn't the one to design the DeLorean and that set just turned out very basic. -

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Hey, it actually looks pretty alright. I was incredibly disappointed by the Daily Bugle, but this one actually looks like I imagined it. Price is awful though. Absolutely wouldn't spend more than 200€ on it. -
They're still on promobricks, since they're not part of the LEGO network anymore. Man, I hope they planned to reveal the other sets at the Con, otherwise what's even the point now?
-
Oh. Oh nooo. They look weird. The bodies are fine by themselves (what's weird is that people only seem to mention the long legs and not the long arms?), but those faces. The set itself is also nice, but I don't know if I can get over those faces. And the horse is also way too blue and bland. I imagined it as more dark blue with purple details because that's how I remembered them. The dragon thing looks a little stiff as well. They also came up with a new element for that bio-link Pandoran fauna has? Seems like an odd piece to include and assort design/development budget to. Maybe a new bow, or plant piece would've been a better choice? Also, so much for LEGO Con.

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Alegrispa replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, it's not as terrible as I thought. Still looks pretty sad. No red eyes for Vader :( I expected someone to mention it and nah. That set gets a bad rep, but it's really not that awful. Price was atrocious, but that was nothing new for Star Wars This one is worse. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Alegrispa replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, that has got to be not only the worst Star Wars set by far, but, just like, one of the saddest sets ever. Not complaining, just my opinion. Designers probably didn't have that much to go off in the first place. I liked the scene, but it wasn't exactly the most exciting location. Geez. Is it at least a not a store exclusive? 25€ (on sale) would be too bad for Vader with printed arms, Obi-Wan, Tala, and the loader droid. -
I'm really pumped for this. Mostly because it is a new theme.

Is there a chance we'll get (minifigure-)sets for this or would we have already heard about 'em?
