This looks as realisitic as a museum piece. Very impressive! Are the chromium-parts custom made?

This looks so cool! Industrial design meets classic space - and it just works and has this feel of something real and actually working. Wonderful! Also bonus points for making the back fold open

Wonderfully done. This stonework is just amazing!

So very cute!

Oh wow, I just discovered that post! Looks great I got the original one for christmas once and it was such a cool set. You made a quite dashing design out of it. Very stylish and boldly different approach. I like that a lot

I completely agree, even if they were merely hiding it with "factual" comments on the movies' quality, despite not having watched it

Help! How to start/build a VIKING Housing/Village?
Littleworlds replied to Linebacker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hello Linebacker! Sounds like you have stepped really into quite some adventure here I surely don't have an answer for all your questions, but there will be more and more competent people reading this topic. One thought comes to my mind though: since you are going to ship this village to the USA, you might want to pack it into smaller, easier to handle sections. Which likely don't break so easily and are easier to repair when damaged. Maybe single houses that can be put on baseplates. Since Viking-era houses were mostly the same, you could just start with one "ideal" model house and make the others variations of it. Shopping at Bricklink will be surely needed too, but first I would look at some MOCs and plans for them, if available, to see which parts in roughly which quantity you are going to need. I also assume you have a bit background knowledge on Vikings, otherwise you might not have made such an offer , so that will really help to create a authentic layout. I mentioned shipping before and apart from models breaking, there might also be issues with customs, if the value is exceeding a certain amount. Hard to say really how they are going to treat plastic construction toys. Probably not as strict as if you would ship Iphones -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Littleworlds replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I watched the review on the Dr. Strange set on Jangbricks before and despite having absolutely no clue about superheroes (ok, I know Batman, but thats it mostly^^), I have to say that his set is really awesome. The weird moving tentacles, the wealth of printed maps, letters, etc and the whole scene setup just says buy me. Great set -
Thats going to be the official name, right? The list looks quite appealing with a number of leisure/city life sets. Of course there is this big focus on law enforcement department, but ok, kids want to play police and robbers. Its their toy after all And the money truck sounds like a fun thing to have anyway, to be honest. ...or is it just the preferences of my Avatar talking here?

I agree and I find this a quite concerning trend in recent years. Sets like the Service Station 60132 are really shocking. 90 USD for 500 pieces. And it doesn't even look particularly glorious. Another trend I noticed is that, for example with the recently released planes, that they look too simplified and "stubby". On top of that a lot of large pieces have been used for fuselage and wings, where its not really needed. This said, the low end with starter sets is very reasonably priced, but with many other sets I often miss a decent value for the money they want.

My 1500km road trip in the name of Lego . . . . some pics and commenta
Littleworlds replied to Breakdown's topic in Community
This might be really one of the most weird things to do to get some Lego. Hats off for that level of insanity, ermm dedication You are clearly crazy, but that's alright. We are all playing with tiny plastic figures here - so there can't be a better place for you I hope to see some more pictures. Especially from the objects of desire. What is life without little adventures!- 20 replies

I don't feel sorry for sony for sure. Its just another tech/entertainment corporation, but I feel very sorry for the cast who had to go through an ugly trainwreck (to use this colourful phrase) of entitled fanboy shitstorm and for the women in the movie branche in general, since a successful reboot would have likely opened many doors for female-led casts and more equal payment. Good film or not, ghostbusters or not, gender equality is something that simply needs to finally happen.

Your experience with the lego store sounds really weird. I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but as someone who gets a lot of my stuff from abroad, I wonder if the customs-people were suspicious on the value of the parcel and the contents and simply dedided to open it and check things. Never happened to me, but parcels can be held up for weeks coming from outside the UK.

Fifth Indiana Jones Movie- 2019
Littleworlds replied to Junior Shark's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I like the Indy-movies a lot too. At least most of them Thing is, that Harrison Ford is now in an age where he can't play him anymore in a convincing way. At least not for me. And of course these things are always subjective. He did a great performance as Indy and that was enough fleshing out for me. As I said: its subjective The show was never a big thing really. At least it didn't by far reach an audience as the movies. Of course fans who are more immersed in the franchise disagree. But after all, they made the whole EU in Star Wars non-canon too, or the Star Trek reboot did (sort of), just to take back bits and pieces they needed/found worthy too keep. Its in a way a pretty messy decision because it leaves a lot fans with disjointed elements, but on the other hand, it nicely trims down the narrative again and leaves plenty of space for more movies in the timeframe before indys movie-adventures. And yes, if I could, I would declare Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as non-canon. Just as well as the Matrix-sequels, but thats another story I loathe the idea of cinematic universes, sorry At least the way as Marvel did. That is just taking the worst from soap operas and transporting it into the action/scifi/fantasy genre. Often, one coherent movies, with a well-told story and good characters is the better solution than a inflated franchise of cinematic mediocrity. Sequels can be ok, if they really tell you something interesting and can stand on their own. In that regard (but not only!) the first 3 Indy-movies were perfect Therefore: lets see how it all plays out. If a film is good, it is good- 94 replies

These look amazing! I am really impressed how so simple elements can create so creative and unexpected textures. Great work. More of this, please -
That looks cool! I would frame it and put it at a wall. It could also be a nice birthday present to a Johnny Depp-fan. Very nice!

Fifth Indiana Jones Movie- 2019
Littleworlds replied to Junior Shark's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I disagree that any period is in a certain "need" to be fleshed out. I don't think it is from particular interest to create a whole cinematic or whatever biography of him. Sometimes the more lies in the shadows, the more interesting a character gets. If at all, the time-frame before the films could deserve some attention really, but I still would prefer not to (yes, there was the Young Indy TV-series, but I don't see a reason really to take it as canon). And I certainly think Spielberg isn't the right for the job anymore. He just ran out of steam creativity-wise. Best would be a decent reboot at some point. With the emphasis on decent, if the series really has to continue...- 94 replies

Looks like a little must-have. Very charming start into 2017! Extra points for being a set without built-in conflict scenario
