  1. Hello there! Glad things are moving in a good direction for you. Gender in general shouldn't play a role in society, but sadly it does, as we all know. I do think though that the Lego community in particular is rather open-minded and respectful - and personally I find that it doesn't really matter who has which bits. What is important is, which kind if person someone is and that people respect each other
  2. Thumbs up! Glad to see its all in one piece still & performing well
  3. A really stunning amount of detailing here. Beautiful work in every aspect! I am also quite surprised how small the original appears compared to it (ok, the photo seems to be of a bit smaller scale, but still). It is a quite sizeable build, without appearing exaggerated. As a matter of fact, its size feels just right.
  4. Welcome to Eurobricks! I think by far most of us get sooner or later into the situation where they feel they outgrew Lego - just to regret this later on when they return from these dark ages. Lego is a quite rewarding hobby. It just feels nice to do something manual where so many things today are just happening on a screen. Anyway. Sadly I cant really give you advice on how to deal with cat urine on bricks. Its quite persistent stuff and i dont know if you can get the smell away. Apart from that, dishwashing liquid and a bucket of warm water gets off most of the "ordinary" dirt/dust. See you around!
  5. Very impressive and beautiful. I had to look twice to identify the nature of the arches - clever idea! Also not to forget to lovely, classical-looking front of the building: that alone would be already sufficient for a great MOC!
  6. Looks very good! A bold choice with the red, but it works and its certainly plausible as a representative feature. All in all a wonderful winter scene with stoneworks and show working together very well, with a lovely interior ss bonus!
  7. This is absolutely brilliant. The characters are spot on, as are the scenes themselves. Also a mjölnir-pavement is something you dont see every day!
  8. Sounds indeed like prime-location-fee to me. And I bet its for a good part also also speculating on tourists being all impressed by NYC in general and the store in particular don't really look up prices online... Cheeky!
  9. They look very good. Quite realistic too! I also like the low angle on the last couple of shots. They give s real feel for the scale. The big buses are imposing but the sizing looks absolutely properly. Good work!
  10. Very cute! Also a nicely arranged vignette with perfect use of space. Now of course, I'd like to see more of them
  11. Looks like a very elegant construction. And a very proper looking as well!
  12. The set looks very cool and yes - I can understand it makes quite a number of people jealous! Then again: is it right to sell such a thing on ebay? Prices and wages in Hungary are significantly lower than in middle/western European countries, so I can see the incentive when you can sell such a set for over 200 € or so. Still. It isn't a nice move and it might eventually lead to TLG stopping giving away such gifts completely, or replace them with less desirable off-the-shelf sets. Also: if one seller has several of these sets for sale, then that's a strong indicator that there were irregularities with the distribution of these sets and I'm sure TLG will be looking into that as well.
  13. You caught the look of these houses perfectly. Very good to see them represented in Lego - and it is so cute! The increasingly overhanging balconies are represented very well and of course you just can't do such a house without the flowers! Very good! I would perhaps add a couple of garret-windows to the roof. That would, however, likely increase the complexity of it a lot. And of course a chimney which gives you also the nice opportunity to add an old style "Kachelofen" (tile stove) to the build
  14. That looks absolutely lovely! And its great to see that there is a place for both teams
  15. I think it really comes down to what interests you and what you want to do with your Lego. Me for example i started with medieval fantasy themes and quickly realized, since the themes were about to been shut down, I had to expand my range a bit. I eventually ended up with buying across all sorts of themes, with the exception of friends/elves and technic. It has to be minifig compatible for me So right now my Lego universe encompasses fantasy, city, star wars, pirates, ninjago, nexo knights, classic space - and I am quite happy with it I have written a guide for buying Lego where I delve a little deeper into the topic of building up a collection in my blog. Feel free to have a look!
  16. What an achievement! These builds looks awesome. I'm a real sucker for steampunk and this really made my day
  17. Looks very good! The inferior looks very busy and as you would expect such a boat would look like. Perfect! As for the outside, I might have given it some metal strips as reinforcement and to break up the uniform look of the hull. All in all though a really cool idea and design!
  18. This looks like some really intense playing indeed! I guess its from your final days of playing with lego before your dark ages. The phase, when you don't really care about it. That would explain the heat deformation. It really looks like it got blown up! Edit: Ermm... never mind the last two sentences...
  19. This is really beautiful. Lovely interior furnishing and its nice to see what you actually implemented the typical lego-style of fold-out buildings. Great use of space, great look - perfect build
  20. I feel the same. They look so random. No iconic looking minifigs, but instead a series of weird mashups. I guess TLG doesnt wants us to get the proper characters too easily or are they intended to be funny?
  21. Awewome dragon! Very organic and lifelike - and a mean set of teeth! I really like how the scales on the underside contrast with the rest. All in all very good. I would consider to change the eye colour. Maybe blue or green, to be more visible and more menacing. I had to look twice to find them actually.
  22. This looks great. The stained glass window is very impressive and the interior is just amazing. A beautiful build I would maybe add a shark, sawfish and crocodile to the exhibition. And consider giving the dinosaur skeleton a mkre narrow snout. I know that the science institute has a 2 studs wide skulk too, but carnivore dinosaurs were surprisingly slim. Especially their heads.
  23. Oh, this is utterly awesome! The colours! Just what you like to see on a grey November morning. So bright and happy! And so lovely Mediterranean buildings. It really brings holidays home
  24. Just stumbled over this thread. Looks absolutely stunning! I love such attention to nice little details. They make a build really come alive! Also the term Hausmann-style is new to me, just reading about it now. Very interesting! This makes sharing and discussing MOCs so nice: you don't only get to see great work, you also can learn a lot about historical context of certain styles.
