[OL Prospecting Results] Mercury Mine
Bart replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like this one. The track and mine entrance but also the mountainside with plants. And the way you gave the blue coat a jungle look with the hat. -
Nice build and story, well done on the trenches and greenery. This build shows I missed a lot during my time at sea.

[SR-CHII prize-Fatu Hiva] Royal Basilica of the Faith
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
In LDD the part is named "screen bowed - 4x8x2" it probably doesn't exist in dark blue in real bricks but thats the advantage of LDD :p Thanks! The simplicity of your reply made me smile :) -
Hereby I want to notify that this AMCRA is ended and will not continue. I'd like to thank the AMCRA staff for their effort and input.

Okay you may all have seen my topic about the military exercise in Quinnsville between me and @LM71Blackbird But I was going over the form, but how/where do I indicate that I'm sailing to Quinnsville with the intent to raid? Now it just looks like I'm going there on a trade run. Bart Nevermind it says in the first post I have to notify Captain Wolf

[SR-CHII prize-Fatu Hiva] Royal Basilica of the Faith
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you. This far east yes as far as I know the biggest. Thanks If not for winning in the challenge, i probably wouldnt have build it. Thank you. I'll check in LDD fot the part name later today (i think its in the window part folder) there where maybe 7 versions of the dome before deciding on this one as this is the best scale and shape i could master. The trees are taller then the nano figures but i wanted the base of the building to stick out on top so conpromises where made. -
[SR-CHII prize-Fatu Hiva] Royal Basilica of the Faith
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you. They're intended to be trees Thank you, The slope is just a simple 2x2x3 sloped brick which is very nice at this scale. The flying buttresses are actually architecturealy necessary, I think the walls would fall over if build in real bricks, as the walls aren't sideways supported any other way and stand inside on pillars. *because I wanted the glass behind the windows I didn't do an interior, but otherwise it is possible. -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That's the same reason I posted my request for a royal grand with the build, I've nothing to hide. There was nothing stopping me from sending a PM to Oleon before I posted it, but that's not how I like to play the game. -
[SR-CHII prize-Fatu Hiva] Royal Basilica of the Faith
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you, it was fun building this. Thanks, I like how the monastary turned out too, that to me is more true 'microscale' then the Basilica it self. Thanks, yeah I've had a normal minifig next to it in LDD and even then it's big, although not grande anymore as what I intended to build. The padre is more then welcome :) Thanks Prof, I hope you now understand why in the SR thread I said I couldn't place it in any Searat town, it would not be fitting. Bart -
Basilisk of the Faith 5 by Bart, on Flickr Licensed as a Royal - Art's and Culture.

I know challenge II is been a while back, but I found out a bit later that I had won a prize. This started out as a build to claim that prize, which is technically still possible, but well it got a little bigger: -- After Captain Adolar Brickdottir that the Mayor of Fatu Hiva had granted them a license to build a free building in Fatu Hiva for their efforts in exploring the island and trying to find the source of all the evil. She told some local builders to build Fatu Hiva a temple for the Faith. The local builders didn't waist any tie and cleared a large part of the Jungle just outside Fatu Hiva and started with constructions. The builders elevated the grounds with battlements as to raise the Basilica above the jungle to show the superiority of the Faith over the pagans hiding in the Jungle, imported the best white marble they could find and covered the roofs with the brightest blue slates all the way from the mines in old Oleon. The idoils of the pagans where turned in to good use and all remolted to decorate the outside of the Basilica in gold and silver statues. To maintain the Basilica the builders added an monastery to the build compleet with gardens. Basilisk of the Faith 1 by Bart, on Flickr Basilisk of the Faith 2 by Bart, on Flickr Basilisk of the Faith 3 by Bart, on Flickr Basilisk of the Faith 4 by Bart, on Flickr Basilisk of the Faith 5 by Bart, on Flickr As you can tell I accidentally surpassed my free license size wise a lot, it's not a large Art's and Culture. But it surpases the Royal size limits. Therefore: @Captain Genaro @blackdeathgr @Phred as Oleon staff and @Captain Braunsfeld for running the Challenge: To: Lord Chancellor Calida Supreme High Priest of the Clerics of Zeus From: Adolar Brickdottir, Captain of the West Compagnie of the 1st Battalion Derr's Expeditionary Light Infantry Fatu Hiva, 27 December 618 Your excellenty, I write to you as to my knowlidge you are the most powerfull person in the Faith. On my behave a Basilica for the Faith has been constructed in Fatu Hiva. I would like to humbly ask you for a royal grant for the building, so as it may be valued in the grandeur it shows. Best regards, Adolar Brickdottir -- I've been trying to build a basilica a few times before in LDD but always got suck on the scale when using regular minifigs as a base. But now this prize came on my path and asked for a micro scale, so I started with the small minifig trophy figures as a size base, first the facede with the rose window grew and then I wanted a dome, and then well it had to stay into the proportions my mind had mapped out. If Oleon things this is not worth a Royal charter, no worries I'll use the free license I won at challenge II. If you do I need to collect some moneys to get the license paid, but lets not worry about that. Bart

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
If you look there, it would be a 9 (or 8 if you are very strict on the length rules) (IMHO) as it outclasses the Triton by far. More a working project by the gun count. :) -

[COR-MRCA] Admiralty office, King's Harbour
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice little build, I like the part you used as door knocker. I'm second guessing my choice to sail to the Cocovian sea the next MCRA turn, on the otherhand I'll be close to the action. Make a note to supply extra powder and shot after the excercise in Quinnsville.- 10 replies

Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well may I suggest to stop kicking up OOC dust when the IC isn't played out yet, because it is majorly confusing. @Captain Genaro already approached Corry high peoples, and they are coming back to the WTC .. When a letter is published publically, and I get involved in the discussion, I always assume I recived a copy via via, as to make an appropriate IC reply. -
Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Bart replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
huh? Now I'm lost. Because as a outsider in this discussion, to me @gedren_y's point is what it is all about. Did or didn't the WTC knowingly try to raid Fatu Hiva? And I find it kind of difficult to see the difference between IC and OOC communication here. Yes the lettes in italic are clearly IC. Bart -
[januari MCRA] Military exercise - Quinnsville vs Derr
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well up until the next MCRA the location of Searat ships where not hidden, so everybody already knew where any ship was departing from. So giving that knowledge publically is of no harm to me. Giving out my destination doesn't feel like it will increase the risk of being attempted to attacked much bigger. And yes the Narwal (Note there is no H in there, I've used the Dutch spelling when licensing) does not fly a black flag (yet) I understand your ideas, but my personal opinion is that I don't think anyone would try to sack Quinnsville for real during this round. But if you want to try be my guest, I'll order the popcorn for the political mayhem you'll unleash. I would want this to be handeld in the normal MRCA, the normal dangeours should apply to the Narwal during the crossing, otherwise it wouldn't be fair. same as for the upkeep of the Narwal and troops that will just continue. Yes My first Idea was that I would just raid Quinnsville with the normal MCRA rules, and Blackbird and I would share dammage costs to ship and fortress. But a short conversation with Bregir showed that it could be done without real damage. But if that is to much work for the MCRA team please say so.- 25 replies

[januari MCRA] Military exercise - Quinnsville vs Derr
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To: Mayor Richard Brickford, Quinnsville, Cocovia And: Governor Jonathan Cooke, King's Harbour, Cocovia From: Cathy Derr, captaining the Narwal, port of Fatu Hiva, île d'Or 20 December 618 My dear lords, Thank you for the positive reply. The flag will be hoisted upon departure out of Fatu Hiva. You will be getting no transgressions from my part, but I am not and will not take responsibility for any other Captain on the Brick Seas. Any dishonest aggression from your part will be dealt with accordingly, the rounds may be filled with paint but the crew does not dull their knifes. A full report will be made and published publicly, I want to even take a next step and invite the editors of both the KPA and the WTC Monthly @Capt Wolf@Drunknokto send a (wo)man to Fatu Hiva to board the Narwal and see this exercise unfold from close view. (Paint stains on cloths is for their own risk) Fair winds, Cathy Derr, act.Capt. of the Narwal,- 25 replies

[januari MCRA] Military exercise - Quinnsville vs Derr
Bart replied to Bart's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
We are all gentleman/lady's here aren't we? I assumed everyone to be descent enough to stay to the sidelines of it. Or at least curious enough to how the game mechanics are going to handle this. How many raids have there been on bigger settlements? Maybe the Narwal will blasts the fortress clean from the rock it is build upon, in that case the next month more Searats might take their changes. And may anyone stab me in the back as to try to rob the new bank in Poppy Port, I will have my revenge how ever long it may take, that is a promise.- 25 replies
