  1. Nice! interesting technique with the baseplate to techincally support the second floor. But the shutters are really on point.
  2. This is a nice build Mesabi, I like the three steps in the build with the building showing a nice interior. I think the floor technique is a good choice for this build. The high rooms with the ornaments really give the impression of a high status house suiting a count. TNT in the corridor why not :P < it's like a where is waldo with your builds, always check where is the TNT
  3. Thanks :) I think it is one of my first with a snot wall, (the white part) although because LDD blures out btick borders it isn't easy to see. The events in the world of bobs are an inspiration for builds aswell. And keeping it a rolling story with a correct time line helps me enjoy bobs. Thank you :) getting the angle of the fort to the road was hard in LDD as part of the fort isn't connected to other parts. In the end it was easier to angle the road.
  4. Welcome aboard legonaut, That is a very nice introduction build. you are setting the bar high for yourself :D
  5. Fort Maartens has until now been funded by the Sea Rats, but due to recent rises of the costs of forts, the Sea Rats have difficulty to keep paying for the powder and shot. The mayor of Poppy Port, Rodsh Derr, finds it important his settlement stays protected from unwanted visitors. and therefore decided to take over the costs. Because of the succesfull mining industry of Poppy Port the settlement has enough gold in the bank to pay the costs of the fort, even the preferred drink of the commander of the fort has been taking into the budget Rodsh Derr has dragged a chest of gold pieces to the gate of Fort Maartens, where the commander is eager to accept it. I hope I did @Kwatchi his creation honour with this little build.
  6. I like the roof looks on the outside, I hadn't seen that design before. For me the best parts is the jetties on the front, and the whole build being over muddy banks.
  7. Indeed, thanks to Roadmonkey and the Myth Chaser, I was able to put a full battalion on that beach. A nice note, the amount of man you see in my little moc above, is the amount of men the Narwal can carry, besides crew, whom are still operating the guns at this point.
  8. From: Mayor Richard Brickford, Quinnsville, Cocovia To: Cathy Derr, acting captain of the Narwal, Quinnsville, Cocovia Dear Mayor, My congratulations to you and your men. The wals of your fortresses seemed in better shape then I expected. Your gun crews did excellent work though and it was hard work on the helm to bring my men ashore. Ashore we where out manned as you say, but it was a perfect training for my men and woman at arms, they now know where there strenghts and weaknesses lay. and above all everybody enjoyed themselves. Most likely we will sail as soon as my crew is broke or all your alcohol supplies run dry, there is more profit to be made and honour to be gathered on the brick seas Best Regards, Cathy Derr -------- Quinnsville vs Derr 1 by Bart, on Flickr Quinnsville vs Derr 3 by Bart, on Flickr Quinnsville vs Derr 2 by Bart, on Flickr I dusted off my MOC of the Narwal, and enlarged it with flying canonballs paint and half of my battalion landing on the beach. enjoy :) I'd also like to express my thanks to the people running the MCRA, I hope this exercise gave everbody involved and all others a good inside of how a raid works, and what the chances are of succes, on which ever side you stand ;) Bart
  9. well done, it has a very appealing look.
  10. I was aware of that actually, but how can you have a true exercise if you can't hang in the pub with the opponents afterwards :)
  11. no need to put extra work on you
  12. Thanks to the bobs team for the fast results this round, excellent write up again this month. *question tho, did the Narwal and the Myth Chaser are listed as making a profit, is that due to any trade? It is also a different number then in the write out of the exercise. does carrying soldiers not fill up the holds so it cannot trade? The write out of the military exercise is food for thought :) or I need to pick much smaller targets, or heavily increase my military power and number and size of ships.
  13. :O what is there not to love! the architecture and details inside and out are all outstanding. the safe, the crane, the stairs, the railings, a coal shoot, the piping aaahhhh!! sensory overload. *checks the spoiler* A skeleton of a dinosaur! *passes out*
  14. So you take prestige of your town having a large fort, but you let the faction pay for it?
  15. If I where Eslandonian, I would question the cost/profit value of the fortresses. How often did they actually do their job? compared to how much they cost? How good did they do that job? Maybe that way they could reduce costs?
  16. Good job, I like the tree stumps in the corner, and that red axe positioning.
  17. Winter Exersice 618-619 Quinnsville vs Derr WIP Journalist do not agree by Bart, on Flickr There seems to be a heated argument between the reporters of two different newspapers on the Narwal...
  18. I'm glad I'm not some fancy Eslandonian, but a Sea Rat, we keep to normal English when talking to each other. ooc: I really can't understand which stance any of you is taking in this discussion, or what the used arguments are. It is so intertwinned with IC backgrounds and fancy words that as a non-native-English speaker it is majorly confusing. But if you all like it that way go ahead.
  19. excellent work on the birds. I also like how you put the two scenes on two baseplates. That really gives the impression they are watching the brids from a distance.
  20. I saw it first on my phone, but this is defeniatly a must see on a big screen! to many details. I love how you did the drawers, that's a bucket handle in the bottom of a 2x1 brick?
  21. Your brickbuild gun and carriage is very good!
  22. a flat tax of double my income o.O I think If I'd rob MAESTRO as to double the contents of my treasure chest they wouldn't even find it in their balance .
  23. That is odd, because it isn't a possible destination in this tMCRA @Capt Wolf Nor is it in the settlement listed in the Account sheet, @Phred
  24. I like the architecture with the windows and the turntable bases in your office scene, The ship is nice too, clearly build for a purpose, fat, as to give the guns a stable platform. minimum rigging to faul the firing line of the mortar. ample ventilation in deck. No fancy officer cabins in the stern but more guns. Good ideas and execution all around. I was thinking too, what if I just anchored a gun ship infront of a settlement, that's cheaper then a fortress. But someone pointed out to me, you can't use a ship as a fortress, you can only let it patrolle the zone you are in. And how do you know which ships to attack. Forts automatically attack when an attack is being taken place. But if the raiding party doesn't set their ships to attack your ships. then your ship would never respond, as to the captain it is just a ship from faction X. anyway food for thought.
