  1. I'm not in range of the Portal pack yet, I needed Iceland to win. I need France to lose! Come on Germany this Thursday!
  2. LEGO Dimensions is slowly dragging me in. I'm only interested in the physical pieces and minifigs, so they've always been WAY too absurdly expensive to justify buying anything just for that. However, I finally bought the Portal games in the Steam summer sale, and now I'm addicted enough to those games to consider buying the Portal pack... I'm flirting with a very, very dangerous path here. Also, the new Dimensions Wave 2 packs look superb. I'm very, very tempted by the Goonies and Sonic. Anyway, I have a competition running in my family where whoever picks the team that'll get the furthest in Euro 2016 will win €25, and the only ones left that people chose are Germany (my team) and France (my brother's), so everyone cheer for France to lose tonight so I can get my LEGO Chell.
  3. Oh dayum, you're right! Now there's one Batman variant I actually would want. It would be a dream if a Batman Beyond figure was part of the Batman movie CMF line.
  4. A hospital has been the glaring missing piece of my LEGO city for years now - I missed the last hospital that was out, and it's been something I've really wanted my city to have ever since. I have doctors and stretchers, but the poor patients have had nowhere to be treated for years now. I think some kind of medical establishment is long overdue. A modular hospital would be fantastic - the only problem is that the recent modulars have included some amount of play features or story (for example: the prohibition cookies in the Detective's Office, and the "Money Laundering" joke in the Brick Bank), and I wonder what story could be implemented with a hospital that would still be appropriate. I think with a hospital they would have to include another small business with it. Perhaps a small newsagents or cafe like real hospitals have?
  5. Wow! I'm not as into Marvel as I am DC, but these are just as good as the new DC Mighty Micros! The Spider-Man one isn't very interesting to me personally, but Iron Man vs Thanos and Wolverine vs Magneto are excellent. That Thanos-mobile.
  6. The set is available in Smyths now in Ireland (and I assume the UK too), I saw it in-store the other day.
  7. Woah, 2017 is going to be a BIG year for Lego DC, by the looks of things. 13 LEGO Batman Movie sets (which is an absurdly huge number of sets, IMO), Batman CMF series, Mighty Micros - and then there will be almost certainly be sets for the Justice League movie and possibly Wonder Woman. Should be great! I'm looking forward to the Mighty Micros and any Justice League sets the most, although I'm willing to let the Batman-centric stuff surprise me. I've never been a big Batman fan in comparison to DC's other characters, so hopefully we'll get lots of interesting other characters and villains in those sets too.
  8. Those sound excellent! I'd love Wolverine vs Deadpool, but I have to wonder if Lego would ever release Deadpool again considering he's now associated with an R-rated movie.
  9. They possibly will still reveal a regular set at SDCC - to my knowledge, the pictures of the 2017 Mighty Micros were released now because they are actually being made available early to SDCC attendees. EDIT: Incorrect - the 2017 Mighty Micros will just be SHOWN at SDCC, not given out. Sorry for the mistake!
  10. Just finished building it, and I think it's brilliant! The amount of awesome builds here for such a small price (I got mine in Smyths and it was 25% off, I'm sure it might be the same in the UK!) is unreal. Printed pieces, classic Batman, Lex Luthor is awesome especially when in control of his mech, and I even really like the little Batcave in person, it's like a cute little vignette. The Batmobile is solid for what it is too; I'm going to mod it into a City car. Overall, the set is completely worth it. The builds are a great size and quite enjoyable to build, you get a TON of amazing printed pieces... I even had way more fun than I care to admit just shooting those Batman-logo disks. Definitely a great buy.
  11. It begins! Love them all. 'Wonder Woman vs Doomsday' and 'Superman vs Bizarro' will definitely be ones I pick up as soon as I can. LEGO DC 2017 will be off to a great start with these!
  12. Not really, I don't think. Bizarro looks perfect here to me - he's meant to look cartoony and strange, and I think LEGO designed his minifig here perfectly. He should fit right in with the main DC figures if you just swap out the short legs! This way, you're getting a really awesome Bizarro (sans the right legs, but just replace them) and an assortment of great pieces for a really cheap price. It's a fab deal, I think.
  13. I don't find it hilarious... Some would say I find it... the reverse...
  14. Was just about to post the same thing! Wow, they look spectacular! The faces and legs again are going to be a contentious issue, but WOW, I'm going to have to get Wonder Woman vs Doomsday and Superman vs Bizarro. Bizarro's face suits him just fine anyway, and it's nice to be able to make variants of the heroes. SO excited about Bizarro!
  15. Today I managed to buy the new LEGO Juniors 'Batman and Superman vs Lex Luthor' set! It's on sale in Smyths in Ireland and the UK, 20% off, which is fab considering it's a brand new set. I also gave in to temptation and bought myself the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, because I guess I have a nostalgia itch! Looks like a great set, just gotta gear myself up for those stickers! Great day, can't wait to get building these!
  16. Excellent review, thanks for focusing on the LEGO and not the movie! I'm not interested at all in Ghostbusters so I won't be picking this up unless the price slumps dramatically (I suppose that's possible if the film really isn't well-received), but those minifigure heads and hairpieces are wonderful. For those interested, this is out now in Smyths in Ireland, saw several of them in store.
  17. Thanks for the recommendation! Just got back from Smyths with the Mystery Machine in hand, very excited! I too am worried that once built I'll be searching up Bricklink looking for Velma and Daphne, I fear I'm gonna be caught in that trap too, haha. Can't wait to get building this thing! That's what I ended up deciding too. I may have a Bricklink spree sometime. Thanks Cap!
  18. Hi everyone! So I have €50 spending money left over from work, and I'm hitting Smyths today! Only problem: I've no idea what I should spend my money on. I'm definitely going to buy the Juniors 'Batman and Superman vs Lex Luthor' set as it's on sale, so with the remaining 35 euro, what should I buy from these options? - LEGO Friends Hot Dog Van (It's a Hot Dog van in the shape of a hot dog! Downside is that I don't like mini-dolls). - LEGO Scooby Doo Mystery Machine (Very nostalgic as this was my favourite show as a kid, and I have no Scooby Doo in my collection; only downside is those darned stickers!) - LEGO DC Superheroes Green Lantern vs Sinestro (much cheaper than the other two at a sale price of €23; however, I already have a Green Lantern minifig, and don't care for Space Batman; I'd really be getting it just for Sinestro and I'd maybe like the ship).
  19. Finally bought the Portal games! Very happy.
  20. I was under the impression that the Modular series is one of Lego's most successful ventures, especially with AFOL's - at least, they always seem to be featured on Lego's list of top-sellers on Shop@Home. So I wouldn't worry at all - Lego will continue making these buildings for as long as they are profitable.
  21. Those sound pretty great (especially the idea of finally getting a Reverse Flash figure, especially one based on the comics) but unfortunately I think 2016 could be the end of the comic-based JL sets for a while. We might have a few in the opening half of 2017, accompanying a bit of Wonder Woman, but come the back half of 2017 it'll all be based on the Justice League movie. Based on what we know about Justice League, we'll definitely be getting a Crawler set based on the battle in the tunnel, and I'd say we're basically guaranteed to get a Flying Fox too. The costume descriptions sound like we'll get some great detailed minifigures out of the movie line.
  22. I'm pretty happy that it's CW Atom, as I was tremendously worried that it would be something from The Flash! I'm not upset about missing out on Atom, as I've never really liked Legends of Tomorrow or Arrow personally. I do wonder if Lego will ever decide to make a CW Flash set!
  23. Hooray, it wasn't anything from The Flash! I can live without Atom.
  24. In regards that Nightwing polybag, is it guaranteed to be included with every version of the DVD? I've checked the Amazon listing and it has the figure in the photo, but it doesn't mention him in the official description - I just want to be sure that the figure comes with all versions of the DVD, because that's all I would be buying it for? Man, I really hope the SDCC exclusive isn't Rebirth Wally, because I'd love to reunite him with Nightwing ala the new Titans book..
  25. Ahhh, thanks Cap! Haha, that's right - oh dear, that got out of hand fairly quickly... Last order of the month, eh? Would only get Stitch, eh?
