  1. They could definitely reuse some of those head moulds in a future series, just using an alternate outfit for the figure, or maybe different face prints. Stitch is the one that comes most to mind here, because they could certainly reuse his head and put it on the red jumpsuit from the start of the movie.
  2. Looks like Stitch will be very easy to feel for, which is great, and it's good that there's 4 of him in the box. I wouldn't mind building a Stitch army, off to conquer the universe. I suppose that's what Jumba wanted, right?
  3. The thing with this shop is, though, it's Argos (I think it's a shop only in Ireland and the UK) and it's a weird type of warehouse where you basically flip through a catalogue, order a specific item, and then you wait for a few minutes until your order number pops up on a screen and a worker brings the item to you. The trouble with that system for LEGO minifigures is, you can't stop to feel the packets and decide then if you want to buy it; you're just given random blind bags. It's both a really good thing - because the chances are completely random, so there's a chance there's a pig hiding among those 5 bags left in stock, rather than them being felt out and bought already - and a bad thing, because of having no clue what you're going to get! I think I'm going to buy one more Series 15 because I'll get a free bonus minifig, and then maybe I'll turn my attention to slowly buying out those five Series 12 ones, JUST in case there's a pig there. I think I'd rather chance it and at least have a bit of fun wondering what on earth minifigs they'd give me! Wow, six is quite the mini Shark army! That's awesome! I have one and I love him! I'm definitely going to try to pick him out if I can and get him for free, but the last time I was at the shop it seemed that he's already been scavenged by some fellow fans. I'd love a Right Shark to join my Left Shark, though!
  4. Wow dude! I love all of your minifigures, especially these two (armoured Green Lantern and Impulse)! Do you know by any chance which exact pieces you used to make these? I may have a shot at creating them myself! Also, does anyone have some good ideas for making Cisco Ramon from the Flash?
  5. Those tails look great, thanks for the link! I'm not going to get either one of the ducks, but it's great that LEGO went to the effort of creating that piece for them. It really completes the figures.
  6. Very cool, thanks Just2good! I already have some weird Green Arrow minifigure that I picked up at a comic convention - it's not the normal official LEGO one, it resembles the CW show's Arrow more, but it's also not the Comic Con exclusive version (at least I don't believe so). I think it's just a very good custom. Supergirl I may get! I don't have LEGO Dimensions though, nor do I intend to get it, so I don't know if it's worth it for me.
  7. I wouldn't be able to go ahead with that plan, even though it's clever and probably the best idea - I get very attached to my LEGO, and with this being my first ever Modular and my first set after my Dark Ages, I'm pretty attached to this one. I also specifically bought it first because of it being a cinema, and I love watching movies at the cinema. Essentially therefore, I don't think I'd ever be able to part with it, even if I could just buy a new one later! I'm a bit of a hoarder, I guess. As for the set itself, I agree it's a bit mediocre, but I still like it very much. The first floor is wonderful and I modded it ever so slightly to add a few more goodies to the concessions stand, whereas the second floor is certainly a bit of a let-down. I left all of the stickers off of the set (except for the main sign with the Minnie Figure movie listing) and I think that lets the set breathe a bit more. Overall I very much like the Palace Cinema, but it does need some heavy modding on that second floor. When I bought the Palace Cinema, I also looked at the Pet Shop because I decided, like you said, to look at the oldest sets. I bought the Cinema first purely because I felt attached to the idea of my town needing a cinema if it was going to accurately reflect what I wanted in a town. I wasn't particularly mad about the Pet Shop at the time - mostly because it's also a bit empty on the inside. However, now I'm going to aim to try to save up for it, because of it being very old and because I could deck out the apartment interiors with my own mods. Hopefully it won't discontinue soon. If it holds out until the end of the year, I'll certainly be able to pick it up. Oh, that's cool! Interesting, hopefully that should buy me some time. Thanks!
  8. I don't think I'm ever going to have kids, so I'll have to decide between letting my family sell my collection, or donating it to a children's hospital or perhaps an autism unit. I'm autistic, so I think I'd like to donate maybe some of it to some fellow autistic kids, because I know from my own life how much collecting LEGO can de-stress and help with sensory difficulties and the like. However, I'm only 19 so perhaps it's much too early for me to think about this.
  9. Hi all, Does anyone have any estimates as to when we can expect any of the Modulars to be discontinued? I've just really come back from my Dark Ages this year, so I'm unaccustomed to the production-to-discontinuation cycle of these sets; last time I was big into LEGO collecting, Cafe Corner and Green Grocer had just come out. I was wondering, what set do you think will be discontinued first, and can you estimate when? I'm a college student struggling to get some savings together (I'll probably be able to save just about 5 euro per week), so I'm anxious about having enough time to buy one of the older modulars before they disappear. It took me months to get my first and only one, the Palace Cinema, so I'm hoping I'll have enough time! I'm particularly interested in the Pet Shop considering how old it is - should I be very worried and try to hurry up in saving money to get it? Does it being temporarily out of stock on S@H mean anything?
  10. Dilemma time! So I'm planning this weekend on completing my Minifig Loyalty Card (there's a promotion here in Ireland at 'Art N Hobby' shops, where you buy 5 minifigs, get a sticker on the card for each one, and then get your sixth one free), probably by looking for the Frightening Knight as I've already gotten Shark Guy, 2 Clumsy Guys, and a Faun. According to the Loyalty Card, the promotion ends in May - at this point, Series 15 gets replaced by Disney, I think? However, I also just discovered that another local shop is actually still stocking 5 packets of Series 12, which seems insane! What do?
  11. I think these are going to sell really well. They're cute, recognisable and should be very popular with kids considering it's a mixture of two things kids really like (Disney and Lego). I'm planning on getting a Stitch (just because I love that character), 2 Aladdins for the headpiece (I'm lacking on that skin tone and want to make a Cisco Ramon figure from The Flash), Genie, and maybe Peter Pan. I'm actually glad I don't want too many of these, so I can save up money for a new modular building. I hope the sets sell well so that we could get an 'Experiment 626' variant of Stitch with four arms, and maybe we could even get Nick and Judy from Zootopia/Zootropolis in future. Definitely underestimating Disney, I think! Those 80's and 90's kids have by now become adults or are almost adults, which means they'll be passing on their favourite Disney movies to their kids. Also, just look at Disney merchandise. I was playing with my 6 year old cousin the other day, and although she's madly obsessed with Frozen, she's into all the classics too. We played with some old jigsaws featuring the classic Disney princesses and she said Snow White was her favourite - Snow White being introduced as a Disney character from 1937. She also was able to tell me all about Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto etc. Kids know Disney characters, new and old. They're everywhere!
  12. I got 3 Series 15 minifigs, which turned out to be the Faun and two Clumsy Guys, which was what I wanted.

  14. Hmm, I'd love to pick up a new Shark if I could find him, but I'm pretty sure he's been totally cleared out of the shop by now. I felt around for him but couldn't find anything, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's already cleared out of there! Still, I'm just happy I managed to get one of him. He's a great minifigure and he's definitely the most popular of this bunch, it seems! As for the Queen, I think I'm going to skip on her (even though that cape is utterly majestic) just because I already have the Castle queen from Drawbridge Defence.
  15. Just got three more minifigs today! I now have a Faun and two Clumsy Guys to join my Shark Guy. Really enjoying collecting this series! Anyway, the shop I bought the minifigs from has a deal going where if you buy 5, you get a sixth one for free. I've managed to get pretty good at feeling the packets, so I'm going to try to come back soon to attempt to get the Frightening Knight. Question is, what minifig do you guys think I should get as the free 6th one?
  16. Just got myself my first of the series! Felt around looking specifically for Shark Guy, and got him on my first try! If you're looking for him, I recognised him by feeling the tail part. You can feel the shape of the tail's end very easily. Also, head's up - If anyone else lives in Ireland, the "Art N Hobby" shops are doing a deal where you can get a LEGO Minifigures loyalty card, and you get a free minifig after you buy 5 figs.
  17. That Hot Dog van will mix wonderfully with the new City park set. I haven't really considered buying any Friends sets (I am just not a fan of those mini-dolls) but I could happily buy that Hot Dog van and sell/give away those figures.
  18. My point was more so that you can make variations of the same character, but it tends to be difficult to use the pieces to make any other characters. All of those 16 purist customs are representing Homer - you cannot deny that you can't (or I would be very surprised if you could) use Homer's headpiece to contribute to creating a character that is not meant to be Homer.
  19. I think the issue with minifigs having heavily moulded heads is the fact that it renders the figure almost entirely un-customisable. If the heads are so specifically geared toward one character, then it is impossible to take off that head and use it for making your own custom minifigs. At least some moulded heads (eg. those in Star Wars sets) can represent an entire species and can therefore be re-used to illustrate different characters - but headpieces like those included in this line are TOO specific. It will be tremendously difficult to use any of these new pieces in any way other than building the figure as-per-instructions and popping it on display. Personally I would much rather have slightly less-accurate faces on these, just so the pieces are re-usable and therefore much more desirable. This is why I have never been a fan of highly specific stylised figures like the Simpsons minifigures, because they just can't be used as part of other characters. The series looks great for collectors. For people like me, who mostly wish to get parts to make my own figures, this is pretty disappointing. I do really like Aladdin, Genie and Peter Pan, though. Stitch is about the only moulded figure I wouldn't mind having, but that's only down to having a soft spot for that little guy.
  20. Oh wow, didn't know it had the Flash symbol as a printed piece! That could be useful! I also love both of the figures, great classic versions of both characters. It'll be great to have two slightly different Flashes now to represent Barry and Wally! Also that drinks can will be very useful too! Definitely my favourite of the Mighty Micros too!
  21. These would be pretty great! I'd love an updated Lupin as well, I love werewolves and it'd be a good way to get a new mould (or maybe the re-release of Wolf Guy's head). This is definitely a big year for Harry Potter's resurgence as well, what with Fantastic Beasts and the Cursed Child (although LEGO based on Cursed Child feels unlikely to me considering it is a limited theatre performance rather than a blockbuster movie). Perhaps LEGO want to test the water with a Fantastic Beasts Dimensions pack before bringing back the theme? I've been in my Dark Ages since the time just before the end of the HP line, does anyone know how well the sets sold and whether or not you think that would impact LEGO making HP sets in the future?
  22. The minifigures all worship a mysterious council of Gods called the Company of Leh-Go, which fashions every person in a particular design and gives them life when they are assembled from a mysterious sacred pictorial text known as the "Instruction Manual" handed down by the Gods. They also believe in a strange gigantic being who acts as an overlord over all of their lives, willing to destroy and re-construct any building around them (or steal your body parts and connect them to another person), and therefore worthy of worship and fear. This Overlord, minifigure legend says, is not only massive, but tends to have freakish digits known as "fingers" instead of proper claws, which the Overlord uses to govern their day-to-day lives.
  23. Does anybody know if the Venom polybag will be available at any point in Europe (specifically the UK/Ireland)? It looks great and I'd love to play around with that.
  24. Wow, that's mean. There's no reason to be like that. Not everybody has the money or resources to get themselves a Comic Con figure or a ticket to Comic Con themselves, especially speaking as someone who doesn't live in the US. It's not "whining" or unreasonable to express the hope that a certain character is made available for many fans to get a hold of, rather than a very exclusive few - especially considering Zoom would be a very unique and sought-after figure, and one representing a character that's important/interesting to a lot of Flash fans like myself right now.
