  1. Went and bought 6 packets of Disney minifigures, and managed to actually complete the entire series! I am so excited, this is the first series I ever loved enough to try to get as many as I could - I never dreamed I could actually finish a whole series of minifigs! Very, very happy with these! I have one of every figure, and extras of Aladdin, Mickey, Ursula and Genie (I'm not sure what I'll do with those extras yet). Overall, a wonderful series, and I'm very grateful to have gotten the opportunity to collect them all. My favourites currently are Stitch, Donald Duck, and Ariel!
  2. Wow, what an incredible achievement Coca-Cola! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the show, I'm a really big fan of Cartoon Network's previous DC shows (Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and especially Young Justice)! I'm glad to hear that there may be a very diverse range of characters this time around, as that's something I loved about those other shows! As cool as Batman can be, time for him to take a backseat and let under-appreciated characters shine, for sure. (Insert subtle hint that I really want to see Wally West) Well done on the achievement, again!
  3. 6 packs of Disney minifigs as a surprise present from my mom, thanks mom! I now have Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch, Aladdin, Genie, Ursula, Peter Pan, Hook, Syndrome, Maleficent and Ariel; plus duplicates of Aladdin, Mickey, Ursula and Genie. This week I'm going to try to get my hands on the last 3 I want from the series: Buzz, Donald, and Mr. Incredible! Then I'll be done!
  4. My interest in this line will depend on the variety of what CMFs are in the series. I'm a big DC fan, but Batman is not my favourite of DC's heroes and I'd like to see a good variety of characters alongside him. Who do you guys guess will be featured in the CMF series? All 16 or so figures can't just be Batman variants... Can they?
  5. My mum was lovely today and brought me home a present of 6 random packs from Argos, extremely exciting, thanks mom! I got 3 duplicates (Aladdin, Genie, and Mickey to join my spare Ursula) and 3 new figures (Ariel, Maleficent, and Minnie)! I'm in love with Ariel, so overjoyed that I have her now as she was one I really wanted and was having a hard time finding. I now have: Mickey x2, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch, Aladdin x2, Genie x2, Ursula x2, Peter Pan, Hook, Syndrome, and Maleficent. Now there are only 3 remaining figures I want: Buzz, Donald, and Mr. Incredible! Almost there!
  6. Congrats to the designer Kevinszeto! This was the one I guessed would pass the review, I'm so glad that it and Apollo 11 got through! This looks nicely affordable and will be a great, recognisable little display piece. Well deserved for it to pass! Also, ew, K'nex.
  7. I have two big ones that I would like! DC TV: I'm not sure how expansive Lego's DC licensing is, but it may already cover this one! The Flash TV series is probably my favourite show on television right now, and I'd love to see one or two sets based specifically around the show. STAR Labs would definitely have to be a set - I'd love one similar to that Lego Ideas post, which would be based around Season 1 with a whole range of minifigures: Barry Allen with STAR Labs sweatshirt/jumper, The Flash suit, Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, Harrison Wells with the new wheelchair piece, and the Reverse Flash. You could also have some Season 2 based sets, e.g Flash vs Zoom. Although I'm not the biggest fan of some of the other DC TV series, you could also do sets based on Arrow (e.g the Arrow Cave), Legends of Tomorrow (the Waverider ship) and Supergirl. Teen Wolf: My guilty pleasure show, because it actually can be tremendously good when it gets its mind to it! There are many different action-based sets that could be created around the show, but the main one I would love would be Stiles' jeep. You could also have Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital (for all the supernatural attack shenanigans), Eichen House which is basically a supernatural Arkham Asylum, Deaton's vet clinic, a set based around the Mexico adventures at the start of Season 4, even Japan-based sets about the Oni and Nogitsune.
  8. Very impressive lineup from Lego! I'm not a Lego Dimensions person (I feel that 'Toys to Life' games are waaaay too expensive) but I am interested in these minifigs. I wish they weren't so overpriced! INTERESTED IN: Sonic, The Goonies, Fantastic Beasts, Harry Potter. Some very odd, 80's-centric choices here.
  9. Lego Dimensions packs are tremendously over-priced if you're only looking for the physical figures (as I would be), but that pack has nice builds too! Pretty neat. Looking forward to seeing the Fantastic Beasts one!
  10. I definitely agree with you guys, I wish Lego didn't make exclusive minifigs for SDCC. Those sound cool, do you mind showing some pictures of them? I too would be reasonably happy to rely on custom DC minifigs if they were good enough quality, but I haven't been able to find anywhere that makes minifigures like that. The only minifigures I have that are probably custom ones are some I picked up at a comic convention in the midst of my Dark Ages, so I don't really know if they are official figures or made of any official pieces. I have a Green Arrow to replace the SDCC one that way!
  11. This is really cool, thanks so much for the contest! I'm not really super into the Architecture theme, but this sounds like such a fun idea and I know just the thing to try to build! Thanks and good luck all!
  12. Hmm, now there's an interesting set! I'm not really into Marvel as much as DC, but this really is a rather unique set and the Marvel line is absolutely killing it right now! It makes me really wish DC got some decent location sets like this! PROS: - Man, look at all those accessories. Keys, chains, jewels, a crystal, letters, tons of maps/scrolls, a bottle, a skull, some brick-built candles! Also, hand-held fans, and those Doctor Strange magic pieces could look great re-used as super fancy lamp shades. Awesome. - I love the big window. Looks accordingly grand and imposing. - A weird Lego tentacle monster, for all your tentacle monster needs. - No shoehorned-in vehicles! -Some cool prints on the minifigs. Great to get another unique black skin-toned minifig in particular, it's nice to see more and more representation for different races in Lego. CONS: - For some reason, I don't see kids being particularly excited by this set. It doesn't look like it'll have a whole lot of play value for them (aside from the big ugly lever sticking out of the wall and the tentacle monster probably being able to turn and swish around). It reminds me very much of a MOC diorama rather than an actual set, which is surprising and cool for adult fans, but I wonder if kids will like it as much. I would not be surprised at all if this goes the way of the Ant-Man set, so buy this while it's out there. - Looks like that big slanted piece is stickered. - The Ancient One looks terrible to me. Overall, neat set!
  13. I try to avoid stickers wherever I can. Before my Dark Ages I was a big supporter of stickers, because I liked the choice involved in whether or not you wanted certain stickers on your sets or your MOCs - but my opinion changed when I came back to Lego late last year and discovered the extremely poor ageing of stickers in my sets. There are several sets I own where the stickers had wasted away over time so badly that I had to scratch them off of the bricks, and those sets will never have those details again - whereas sets I have from around the 80's have printed pieces that look almost brand new. I've also personally struggled a lot with applying stickers, because although I'm only 19 my hands are rather un-coordinated and shaky due to dyspraxia, and it's an infinite struggle just to get stickers to align properly. There's just an unnecessary amount of anxiety involved in trying desperately to align stickers correctly before they lose their stickiness - I've heard there's a way to make a soapy solution that gives you more time, but it's just an amount of sheer terror I don't want when I'm enjoying building Lego. Printed pieces are much better, in my opinion. They make sets more desirable because they are unique pieces, so there's an element of specialness and collectability that makes you happy to have printed pieces. Also, you don't have to go through all the stress of applying stickers - you can just focus on building your Lego set. Also, printed pieces offer a great challenge for the imagination, because you can really challenge yourself to think of creative ways to re-use them in MOCs. In the scenario that I get sets now which have stickers, I usually leave them off unless they are absolutely essential. For example, I left the film posters off of the windows of the Palace Cinema (it looks WAY better without these applied in my opinion, as you can see right into the lobby much more clearly now) but did apply the 'Now Showing' stickers to the front display.
  14. I agree with Wil348, I think Lego will make the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Dimensions packs, see how well they do, and then possibly follow through with full Fantastic Beasts sets (and if we're lucky, some more HP). If that's the case, I hope the Dimensions packs do really well! Harry Potter was always a very underrated theme when it was out, I feel - it had some ridiculously amazing builds. My Burrow is standing proud amongst my modulars, what a steal that set was. I'll always regret not saving up for Diagon Alley to join it!
  15. Dear Lego, Your exclusive minifigures at SDCC have been frustrating for centuries. They have not made us happy - some would say it's the reverse. You can't lock up the disappointment. Signed, AnnaBuildsLego and PepperoniBricks. Can you cryptically say whether or not the correct guesses have been written already in this thread (without saying which guesses exactly)?
  16. Doesn't surprise me, unfortunately. I wish people would loosen up on the whole "hoarding for extravagant resale prices" thing, but it keeps happening due to the limited availability of these things, and unfortunately that means that most of us will never be able to afford to have these figures. Oh well! I do feel glad for those lucky enough to have these though!
  17. Mine too, definitely! It might help that I'm a giant nerd when it comes to The Flash, but also I just loved the builds and the figures were great! Definitely worth it!
  18. Oh my God, retired already? The aftermarket prices are going to be INSANE... My mom just went to France, I wonder if I should have asked her to keep an eye out for these - were they ever spotted in France? In any case, it's kind of sad that all these awesome figures will be gone forever pretty soon!
  19. God, if you guys are right and it's anything from the CW Flash show, I'm gonna be practically inconsolable. (Please, someone help me in advance)
  20. DC: - Zoom (Flash TV show) - Dr. Manhattan Marvel: - Casual Vision - Baron Zemo
  21. Made the trek to the nearest Smyths this week, picked up 4 packs expecting to get Buzz, Peter Pan, Hook, and Donald. Ended up with two correct guesses (Pan and Hook, nice to get a complete pair) but unfortunately got my second Ursula and a Daisy Duck. Now have: Aladdin, Genie, Syndrome, Peter Pan, Hook, x2 Ursulas, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Stitch. Ones left that I want, in order of wantedness: Buzz, Ariel, Donald, Maleficent, Mr. Incredible. I may trade an Ursula or Daisy for any of those! Almost there!
  22. Yeah, this would be cool! I liked the way Pet Shop dealt with this issue, by having one floor of business in one of the two buildings, and all the rest is residential living space for the minifigures. It's possible that if the Pet Shop does indeed retire soon, Lego's next modular will contain some more residential features to cover that base - but that's all speculation! If you haven't gotten the Pet Shop, I'd recommend it for the lovely apartment building. Woah, is it still sold out on the US Shop at Home site? I think it was a good idea to go ahead and get yours at Walmart, it's a great set and unfortunately I do think it will definitely be retired by the end of this year.
  23. Yes, true! All the GL variants, please! It really has, it's made my want for a Kid Flash Wally minifigure even stronger! Glad to meet someone else with the same Lego vs comic books struggle, it's too real. What makes you think that they're for sure continuing? I'd be really happy if that's the case - I've only gotten one Mighty Micros set (The Flash vs Captain Cold one) and I love it. I'd definitely welcome any more coming out - do you think a second wave would hit at some time this year, or would it have to be next year? I do wonder what future DC Mighty Micros could be - Superman vs Lex Luthor strikes me as the obvious one, but considering the new Juniors set Lego may not want to make that. I imagine a similar situation regarding a Green Lantern vs Sinestro one, considering we already have a set available with that premise. This is veering into 'Future DC Wishlist' however, so I'm gonna steer back on topic.
  24. Sadly expendable when it comes to the pursuit of Lego and comics... Oh God, am I too far gone?
  25. Late to the party, but picked up the Flash and Captain Cold Mighty Micros set! Great set with some awesome pieces and my favourite superhero and one of his main villains, what more can you ask for? Less than RRP too!
