  1. It appears we’re in the same boat. I placed an order on the 1st Jan, Lego took their time and ‘shipped’ it on the 5th. Looking at DPD it was authorised in Oldham UK on the 5th, and then registered in Belgium on the 6th, and it hasn’t shifted since. I e mailed them yesterday to find out what the problem is, as they sent me an e mail on the 6th stating delivery in 2 working days, which would have been 8th, perhaps 11th latest. I’m sure its a mixture of Brexit and Covid issues, but an e mail to let us know would have been welcome.
  2. Love the reworked trucks. Remind me of the large pickup style trucks in the US. Lots of different bodies on the back. We don’t get much like that in Europe. We get lots of Transit van style things instead, which all look the same.
  3. A great idea that makes sense. Since baseplates only come in a few colours it probably wasn’t hard to source the required plates. If I get round to buying these new roads, I might use your idea. Thanks for sharing.
  4. So 11 days in, and its not moved? Grr. I think this is more DPD tbh. They’ve just dropped off my IKEA order including the cheap tables to start building my Lego town on, and they’ve literally dropped half the order, rendering it unusable. Let’s hope the police station arrives in the correct number of pieces along with my GWP car too.
  5. Out of interest, did you re build the Modulars onto plates, or do you just place the baseplates they’re normally built on, onto the road plates to give the height?
  6. Yeah, 5th registered in Oldham, and then 6th Mechelen. Still no sign of it though. Here’s hoping it arrives Monday.
  7. I had the same problem with the Elves Clubhouse delivered in the U.K. luckily the lego box hole was small enough to prevent anything escaping. I’m quite concerned about my Police Station, as it was promised by Friday, hasn’t arrived and using the DPD tracking number, it’s taken me to the .de site, showing my parcel as having undergone customs clearance in Oldham, UK, then in Mechelen, BE a day later. I live in the U.K.
  8. It’s an idea, but I’m more likely to MOC something TBH. I think there are a few parts in Market Street that are not available so there are some work arounds which also puts me off.
  9. That looks about perfect. Sadly only been collecting Modulars since the Palace Cinema, so will probably have to slide it in next to the Downtown Diner to achieve the same effect. If i could reverse build the Parisian Restaurant, then I think that might look just as good.
  10. I would always buy them with a couple of years of release. Boxed examples often go for silly money not long after they are officially retired and out of stock. I missed the Petshop, by not realising that it was retired, and concentrated on others that were on shelf in local shops.
  11. I’m one of those lucky UK residents with non essential shops open, however online was where i placed my order too. I just can’t see a toy shop being somewhere I’d want to spend a lot of time currently.
  12. Yeah. I saw that. Its a great idea. If i can afford both that and the Modular Police Station, then it’ll be hitting my town.
  13. I really like this idea, with the ability to have the 16x32 building to be separate and able to be placed either side would be even better. Could even up the assembly square offset.
  14. I hope TLG will take inspiration from some of the Lego Ideas that have not quite made it, such as a ghost train, or dodgems. These can have a lot of movement, and its not all round in a circle like the Ferris wheel, or carousel. The UFO mini ride in the creator theme this year added another circular rotation to the theme park. We could do with something else. I think the free fall tower in the haunted house was an attempt at variation in movement, after the roller coaster and the pirate coaster from the previous years.
  15. A fantastic build. I could almost imagine seeing this in any one of a number of UK towns. I love some of the little details, and having a raised walkway through to the rear like that is a great way of removing the desire to make a narrow ‘filler’ building, or stretch the main building too wide.
  16. Thanks. That looks fab and with a bit of tweaking, will look great with the cinema modular building.
  17. I’d be interested in seeing any images of this?
  18. That’s a super build. If I had the free cash I’d buy another corner garage to add this to my town. Fantastic.
  19. This kinda reminds me a bit of the train station at Geneva airport. It’s not a lovely place, quite dark like your design. I’d be considering changing the walls behind your train to a much lighter colour, possibly light grey or even white. The London Underground use ceramic tiles, often white, or off white to create a brighter environment without using too much lighting.
  20. I stand corrected. The bumf on lego.com, says rail less wheels, so I’m going with very small wheels, which is a shame.
  21. I think it will use the smaller flanged wheels on the same axle plate as the orange tram from a few years back. If I’m right, it means it’ll run on regular rails, not roller coaster ones. That said, it would be great if they did make roller coaster versions as then it’d be cheap and easy to elevate it.
  22. I am not sold on the black boxes for any of the sets. Having seen some in stores now, I’m not drawn to them. I wonder if the reason the website still lists the expert range is simply down to the large number of existing sets with the old packaging still for sale, such as the vehicles (Mustang, London Bus etc) and the other buildings. I guess it would be too expensive to repackage them now as well? In the end, don’t we all buy the contents rather than the box, so isn’t that a bit irrelevant?
  23. I’d first of all decide on the stud width and depth of the main floors, and then build each above ground floor as a simple square of 1 stud wide bricks, and use the standard doors as a guide to height. Make a rough studio, or LDD plan of each floor to make a best fit for interior walls and from there, using photos as a reference, grab your real bricks and, I’d look at working in the interior walls, windows, stairs etc. It might be that you have to stretch out a couple of studs to get it to work in minifig scale, so this way it’s not a major rebuild of a base And subterranean parts, if you find on floor 3 that somethings just won’t fit. Once you have the rest of it build, work through the partially and totally submerged floors. This method uses more pieces to start, but saves the annoying possibility of having to rebuild the whole thing.
  24. Hmm, quite interested in this. I don’t know much about lego trains, but want to add them to by currently virtual, but eventually real logo town and seaside resort. After all, that’s how seaside resorts got popular, the summer trains - right?
  25. I’ve not seen the ship in the brick as it were, but I’m interested in possibly picking one up when it gets discounted, and converting it to a container ship. Need to figure out how to do that of course.
