    I’ve not seen the ship in the brick as it were, but I’m interested in possibly picking one up when it gets discounted, and converting it to a container ship. Need to figure out how to do that of course.

    I’ve just finished building mine. Overall a good finished product, but I don’t think it sits well with the others. I might team it up with my GBHQ somehow.

    This looks like a great start. I look forward to seeing the progress here. That’s about the same sort of space I’ve got for my town, with similar ambitions, having got 8 modulars so far, the four large fairground sets, plus various others to fit in.

    Some great work there, especially to keep it looking so realistic at such a small scale. Do you have any build steps or stud.io files or anything that you share or sell.

    Mine will arrive today.. soooo excited. I don’t mind repetitive builds if the end product is worth it. Have read a few reviews of actual builds and there appears to be no real value in motorising it using the Powered Up functions as there is an issue with incremental errors in the app for this ride. I was wondering if it could be something that might be better done with a sensor and 2 motors from one of the mindstorms range. Dead simple programming i would have thought.

    I always wondered why they stopped this. After a long Dark Age, coming back and finding a lack of ‘inspirational second and third builds’ on the back of the box puzzled me. As a kid i used to love these, and sometimes purchased a set based more on these than the original build.

    Thanks for the link. it’s an odd angle on the box and I can’t see if it sits on regular rails or not. It might not and be an 8 wide over wider rails. If it’s a 6 wide then I think it’s got to be sold as a static model, rather than motorised. If it’s motorised then the battery has to be in the central section, so I’m wondering how much traction it’ll have if the motor is in one of the ends. Can’t see any powered up logo either.

    Thanks one and all. I thought that i was being a bit cruel about it not being right for AFOL use. Since my budget for roads in my town doesn’t stretch to brick built, or possibly even base plates, as I’d have to cut them as I don’t want the extra studs at pavement height at the sides, I had hoped this might be a suitable replacement. Perhaps I’m going to have to go down the non Lego route. Having no colour printer at home, means possibly some inventive solutions.

    I figured with the boarder it worked out at 8 studs road width, so for the 6 wide trucks it’s going to be a bit tight. I might buy just to see tbh.

    Just been browsing the store and saw this. https://www.lego.com/en-ch/product/road-tape-854048 initially hopeful that this might have solved the issue of placing roads between modulars, but i think its going to be too narrow and repetitive skid marks and grass verge drawn into the road kinda ruin it. I’m interested in thoughts to persuade me differently.

    Hmm, if that’s the genuine box art, I’m a little cold. The logo doesn’t sit right with me either. As for the build, I’m not sure. It’s certainly a step away from the other fairground rides. It almost seems like it would sit better with the ghostbusters headquarters given the way it unfolds and the ‘premium packaging‘ design. It almost could be an ideas set with that box? I think this might be a wait and see it in the flesh one for me, rather than the day 1 purchase the other creator expert models have been.

    It’s for this reason, and the hiked up prices that I’ve stopped using Amazon for Lego purchases. The third party sellers totally muddy the waters. Their search system also now makes odd suggestions. Even Googles shopping search is better now.

    Have you ever thought of trying to have just one motor and a gearbox to drive both? Mine are packed up at the moment, but that’s my plan, if the motor can power them. My other thought included a mindstorms program switching them on & off etc.

    As for the physics of this, I think the main issue is the loss of momentum round the corners. I think it needs to be a bit higher and a steeper drop to start. as for the design, I really like it, and as I have the two creator coasters, this is potentially a great intermediate set.

    I wholeheartedly agree with Koalayummies here. Make sure you like what you build, and don’t worry about what others say. If you want to keep in line with the official modulars, the only thing I would say is that the ground floor is usually taller than any of the other floors. Enjoy your building, and if you’re brave enough, share your progress.

    Hmm, if I had the space (and cash), the ocean research vessel would certainly be added to my town. The large sub seems ok, but the base leaves me a little cold. I don’t get the point of the three bits coming off, and how it’s not playable as one whole base, where minifig can get from one spot to the other.

    That’s fab, and as someone who grew up in the Leicester area, I can see the inspiration here. Supported on ideas. Keep up the great work.

    That’s brilliant. Seems a shame to trash it. It looks Perfect and I think with the roof you mentioned, and a street above it, it could be an amazing addition to a street scene.

    I ordered mine April 1st, around half ten in the am, and it arrived 7th, which is about normal for S@H deliveries. DPD updates were all as normal too. My order originated in Belgium, and passed through either France or Germany before getting to me so I think there may be issues in particular regions of particular countries, but clearly stuff is shipping where it can.

    Yep, not available in Switzerland either. Cynic in me says it was pulled on 30th March, in apprehension of big orders for this set.
