  1. I have this set, and yes, next to the modulars, it’s a large wheel. If you’re looking at a theme park, then the rollercoaster will dwarf it, and along with the carousel and pirate coaster, it’ll be fine. You’ll also be wanting the UFO whirler thing too, I guess..
  2. I can see how you’d say that. It’s also likely that the guys leading on modulars in the past have been moved onto other lines, and they don’t have the full information as to how the line is developing.
  3. It’s not possible to please all of the people, all of the time, just some of the people, some of the time. I think LEGO just design a building that a good proportion of the design team like, and then hope. The latter ones have certainly divided opinion more than the earlier ones. I’ve not met many who don’t like the PR, for example.
  4. I think the redesign allowed it to sneak over, but the designs submitted should be under 3000. I think this is a bit flexible now, as the overall size of the ideas sets increase.
  5. I believe originally ideas sets were limited to 3000.
  6. Whilst I can’t photograph them next to each other, as one is in my other house, I’m not sure they’d go that well together. I always saw the fishing store as a coastal/seaside affair, and the treehouse is most definitely woodland. That said, the treehouse is a really good build, with some nice techniques, and if you’ve got a few spare hinge brackets and brown plates, you can easily add more branches to the main tree, and mix in a bit of the autumn foliage too. I can see why the trunk is designed how it is, and I think there’s room for making similar smaller trees the same way, which might allow you to create the woodland around it, which might finish this models placement in a larger scene.
  7. I wonder how often the Lego designers read through forums like ours, and see what we’re wishing for, before deciding to create the models. Admittedly it’ll be a few years as these things take time. Maybe we should be looking back to see what we all wanted in 2016-17.
  8. That’s a lovely twist on the rollercoaster set. Great to find a use for the BURPs we all end up with too.
  9. I’d like to see a bit of green so would love for a 48x32 like assembly square, but only have one building, maybe 16 wide or so, and then a garden or playground on the remaining 32. Should keep the part count low enough for a standard price point.
  10. I feel your pain on figuring out techniques. I’m only 3 years into my ‘second lego life’ myself. I’m at the other end of the lake. Montreux. Sadly most of my set collection is in my UK home. (Modulars and fairground mostly) I just have a few crates of bricks here.
  11. Hey HereWeGoAgain. good to see another Swiss resident out here. Loving your new MOC, and I do think there is room there to build into the Ideas Treehouse. Have you thought of taking that hermits hut into something a bit more Swiss farmers chalet? Might work out. Keep up the great work. Hope we see more soon.
  12. There is no such thing as “I can only afford one of them.” Once you buy one, the others seem to jump into your shopping basket over a fairly short period of time. More addictive than some fairly illegal substances I believe. ????
  13. Some interesting things listed in the city line too. Race boat transport is basically what I purchased the helicopter transport to Mod into. Lots more police coming too.
  14. I guess. The earlier modulars are something I missed, and I think many did too, so perhaps a redo. We’ve had the downtown diner and the Parisian restaurant, so they’re duplicate to a point.
  15. I wonder if TLG would consider releasing an interiors pack for those early, empty modulars? Keeping this on the theme, I’d like to see a shop of some kind, perhaps a general store. Unless you have market street, I don’t recall any grocery store.
  16. I also think cost would be massive. GBHQ was at least 2x the current modular price, so something that size, which would perhaps house 6-8 apartments, would end up being best part of $400, or £350
  17. I thought there were 4 in there? Are there not?
  18. Yeah, perhaps true, but now they don’t look like being reconnected at all. Mine seem completely unaware of each other, so I can’t get my hands on the treehouse......ggggrrrrrrrr.
  19. Me too, and it makes no difference how I get there, and on what browser. Such an absolute pain as I was about to spend my vip points. Doh!
  20. In a sale in our local supermarket, for 30CHF (=30.50 USD) i picked up the Nexo Knights Fortrex, with 1115 parts. this works out at 0.027 per part. They regularly have sales like this and I’ve picked up $30 duplo sets for 5CHF too. EDIT. Just remembered that I picked up the technic Bucket wheeled Excavator in the sale sale, for 80CHF. That works to be 0.020 per part.
  21. I’d love to know this too.
  22. I can kind of understand some folks comments. Unfortunately until we get some official images from Lego, and maybe see it in the online store, I’m going to hold on making this purchase. I loved the idea, and hoped the final product would be super close to the original. Looks like it’s wandered a little.
  23. Staggering Brilliant. I’ve been a fan of container homes for a few years and you’ve managed to capture the possibilities you have with them perfectly. Some wonderful little touches in there too. You should consider making and selling the instructions. fantastic stuff
  24. This looks great. Certainly can see the inspiration in it. I like the fact that its not a normal ‘high street’ business too.
