I assume that it will have 4 wheels and a V8 engine... -
Supercars and the such
Paul Boratko replied to nicoga3000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It depends on the color of the hard to find pieces that you are looking for... I would say that 99.5% of the parts are common and still in production... Granted when the Gallardo instructions came out in 2009 the Red 5 X 11 panels were plentiful.... -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Paul Boratko replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am more surprised that the My Little Pony Project existed for as long as it did at Cuusoo more so than it being rejected... I have to admit that whoever created the project did a wonderful job representing the theme in Lego form, but it was just an idea that had no chance from the beginning... -
Lego Cuusoo
Paul Boratko replied to Crtlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think this new Guideline was purposely put into place with the increase of Technic models being submitted at Cuusoo... And also for a few system built models that are using some odd building techniques... How do you politely tell someone that you don't think their model fits your guidelines without actually saying that..? Tell them that their model is just too good... -
Lego Cuusoo
Paul Boratko replied to Crtlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
"Your model can actually be too good for CUUSOO." This statement is going to be a key for Cuusoo for dismissing projects that reach 10,000 supports without hurting anyone's feelings, and also making that person feel better about their project than they did before they submitted it... It's like going to a job interview for a mechanical engineer's position and they tell you that you are over qualified... You leave the interview upset, but with a slight smile on your face... -

Vampire GT
Paul Boratko replied to Kronos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The man who won the Auction is from the United Kingdom and he has a rather sad story dealing with his own physical ailments... I have received the money and will be contributing the $1,626.00 to Make-A-Wish as promised... Paypal took $65.98 in fees, but I am going to add that amount out of my own personal account to stay true to my word that every cent of the final bid will go to Make-A-Wish... -
9398 or 8110
Paul Boratko replied to Jurescianence's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think as far as advanced building style and technique goes, the 8110 looks to be your best option... It just depends on what you are looking for.. Both sets are miles apart in functions... -

The Ebay Auction just hit $1,000 USD... That was my anticipated projection for Make-A-Wish before the auction started... I hope that is enough to at least send a child to Legoland... -

A roll of butchers paper works very well and is fairly inexpensive... I think I paid $2 for 40'(13 meters)

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Paul Boratko replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Apparently they removed it from the active supporting stage and archived it... There is an explanation HERE IMO, Mahj should just submit it again... -
I bought a TON of Lego from that guy before... he always had the best prices... I was sad to see his store close up...

Agree... Is was a real pleasure meeting Tim... It's really an awesome experience to meet guys in person that you have previously talked to on the forum... I'm looking forward to hopefully meeting some more guys at Brickfair this year... Yes... A friend sent me that link yesterday... Very humbling to see articles like this written that come from outside of the Lego community...

Paul Boratko replied to Saberwing40k's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Saberwing I wasn't referring to your project here, I was replying back to 88high that if you take your time that you can incorporate both... I didn't know how much time that you had in the one that you working on... I think one of the Goals with building a smaller scale 1:10 car with Power Functions is to not let the power functions change the way that you build the model and dictate how it will look in the end...
