  1. That makes sense, but in all honesty, I think when it got the huge quick boost that it did that people were just voting for it because it was "The thing to do" and had no intention of purchasing it in the future anyways...
  2. Ok, here is what I don't understand.... If Lego is going to review and decide on each model that gets the 10,000 votes and they are most certainly going to alter and change things as they see fit, why not just change the name of the Model? Like why couldn't they just call this theme "Zombie Invasion" and keep the basic idea...? I mean there is basically the same thing with the monster hunters theme... Or they just could have used this model as one of the Monster Hunter's playsets... I can see not keeping the R-rated Shawn of the Dead name, but why scrap the whole model altogether? It would have been kind of cool to have zombie themed playsets starting with the "Zombie Tavern Rampage" or something to that effect... I am most certain that the designer of this model would not have cared at all if the name of the model name changed to fit the Lego Target audience as long as the model actually came out...
  3. A 90 degree bend is which direction? Like with the holes facing inwards? They do make a few 90 liftarms(as stated in a post above) with the holes facing outwards I guess that you could also use one of these guys to get a 90 degree angle..
  4. I was thinking that they probably were using a 3D printer... That technology is really amazing...
  5. I have about 50 brand new 2 x 2 round trans red bricks... If you're in need of any, shoot me a P.M.... I know there are zero of them on bricklink right now... I would like to see the #4 connector in yellow make a return along with 14L, 16L, and 19L Black Flex axles...(There never were 16L Black Flex axles)
  6. The Model that Kossman is holding has me a little intrigued due to it's bulkier look and alternate seats from the actual 8070 that Wabra is holding... When I was building the hood for my Supercar Deluxe 2, I was using a similar design with the panels to make a sort of "Hood Scoop" but in the end, I didn't like how it looked and removed it...
  7. One thing about me is that when it comes to Lego Designs, Themes or Elements, I don't discriminate...
  8. LOL.. I agree, might as well get it out of the way now...
  9. Yeah, I seen that too.. Those must have towball socket ends that can be turned either way... They must have came up with that concept piece due to the fact that the 5 x 11(and 5 x 7) open liftarm is not very steering friendly when incorporating all wheel drive into it... The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that the control arm suspension pivot point would be back too far, especially when it was steered in the opposite direction... Probably why this concept never happened... I also don't like the shock only being able to be supported by one angled liftarm... But a part like that could certainly be used in other aspects of Technic building... It looks like they were just trying to keep the set up as simple as possible though, which makes sense, but isn't always the best option... That is also a 1 x 11 prototype gear rack which as far as I know, doesn't exist... Yeah, I know... I wasn't sure exactly how to title the thread because there were some older models in there along with some 8070 ones that certainly looked different including that red one with the Blue Interior on the far left... You can see behind Markus Kossman that prototype also had scissor doors, but they opened differently than the 8070 does... Maybe he and Uwe Wabra both came up with 2 different concepts..? I don't know...
  10. I just stumbled on this today and I don't recall ever seeing these posted or anyone talking about them... LINK I apologize if this was posted before, but these were new to me...
  11. Looking good so far... The key to getting a good looking car is not to rush the build... If you build something and feel that it could be improved, then try to do so rather than settle for the first option... In the end, this will result in an even more thought out looking construction... Also, if there is a certain part that you need for proper completion of your model and you don't have it, put that section of the model on hold until you get the right parts... Don't try and work around what makes the most sense...
  12. I prefer the much cleaner polished look of studless beams... Not to mention there are no tiny little studholes to collect dust...
  13. Yeah, you can't buy them from Lego anymore.. They told me that they are discontinued... I ordered 120 of them about 2 1/2 years ago for $1.25 each from someone on Bricklink and I have 2 left... The Yellow panels are Discontinued as well and the prices are just as insane... I am sure these will make a return at some point in the future...
  14. If you have the 8070, I'd say that you have a nice chunk of the needed parts... There are 2 Red Panels that are not being produced anymore, but you can still get them at bricklink... They are ridiculously overpriced though... $10 a piece is crazy talk... Just checked them out... Definitely some possibilities there...
  15. That is cool... I need to get that parking feature for my wife...
  16. I would love to do this in black, except for 5 problems.... 5 of These in Black...
  17. That truck is awesome....!
  18. There are not going to be instructions for this, however, after I get back from Brickmagic, I am going to build a second model before I ship this one out to Spain and I will take a lot of good pictures of the build so it should make it easy for anyone if they want to replicate it on their own... Also, there are no Large Panels in Yellow yet and this requires 2 of them... It also has FOUR #4 connectors which in Yellow are currently at ridiculous prices on bricklink...
  19. I can't wait to see this when it is completed... It's one of those models that you just know is going to be excellent..
  20. It's kind of funny that you brought up the rear mud guard.. I built this model off of a Welly 1:18 scale Die Cast model and it has a rather odd mud guard right in front of the rear wheel that dips really low, and after I finished it, I started looking at images of other 997 Porsche's, and they didn't have this that low... Altering it is as simple as removing the red bionacle tooth, so it isn't a problem... Which is what I just might do... It must have been a certain year model that had this... I am also considering doing the front lip in Black rather than all red, but I am a little limited on space and I don't want to overkill the model...
  21. This is probably the 30th car that I have sold over the years, but it was the first custom model that I have built on request...
  22. Very Nice Sariel...
