Thanks for the thread Mike.. Appreciate that... I am going to get more pictures up tomorrow(unedited ones) I finished up the seats last night and I think that I have it finally finished... I didn't think anyone would catch it right away that it was missing them... I was going to get some pics taken and posted today, but right when I got home from work, it got really dark and started raining and the outside natural light was gone, so I am shooting for nice weather tomorrow...

How Lego decides on new sets?
Paul Boratko replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, I am doing everything possible... I have my wife twittering everyone involved in the car world and what not... She even got her tweet marked a fav on one of my favorite rapper's Twitter accounts. He only has 3(one from last year and one from 2010) and hers is now one of them... My car got featured on dudeiwantthat.com yesterday and I got a ton of facebook likes, but the same amount of Cuusoo votes as the day before it was featured... I think people are still a little confused as to how the Cussoo process works... I have also been sending out double e-mails to all kinds of sites for both Mahjqa's model and mine... -
I use about 20 Stanley Organizers that I bought from Lowes over the years... I don't Technically have a Lego room, so the Dining Room serves as my building headquarters... Needless to say not many dinners get eaten in there... I also have a couple of those pull out sorting drawer compartment organizers mounted on the wall for specialty and expensive pieces..

Lego Scale
Paul Boratko replied to Tacker's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think most Lego models scale size is based off of the size of the wheels that they use for it... That is if the model has wheels... The rest depends on the size and price of the set... -

Very true... I have found that if you complain enough about certain parts that Lego just might give you what you ask for... -

There is no doubt in my mind that if an Official Designer from Lego wanted to blow everyone away with a model that they would have No trouble doing so... You just won't see it in an Official set... Also, Lego models are Designed for and Targeted to children.. As AFOL, we are just lucky to be along for the ride... Lego designers have Budgets that need to be met along with Guidelines which also need to be achieved... I haven't built it personally, but the Unimog is a Spectacular set... I would imagine there would also be some Legal Issues involved as well as far as just going and using ideas from someone else... I would love just knowing that perhaps some idea that I came up with was used in an official model, but not everyone in the world has that same mindset... -
8043 Sale news?
Paul Boratko replied to Porty's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Dave, I was thinking of a wrong panel... I was thinking the set had these ones in yellow these panels were only in yellow in the 7160 Dropship from 2010.. I don't think you can order them anymore... There are still a ton on bricklink though... -
Yep.. I'll definitely be at the show in Raleigh next month...

I would like to go on record and state that I had absolutely nothing to do with this... As someone stated before, even if Lego reworked this model to their liking, they would certainly not release it with chromed traditional Lego wheels, they would come up with something similar to what the real car has, especially if they had the Lamborghini Logo slapped on the Front... And the dead giveaway is the fact that Lego would never release a set with any text covering up any portion of the actual model's picture...

8043 Sale news?
Paul Boratko replied to Porty's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, Lego clearanced out the 8041 for almost a week for $34.95 (U.S. Price)... If the 8043 goes on a special sale to clear out old inventory, I would say that you have a 2 hour window to purchase them at nearly 50% off before they are entirely sold out... Flagship sales don't last very long... It seems kind of odd to me that a set nearly 2 years old would be on back order... I think there are a couple Panels in that set that are not being produced anymore... -

Very Nice Model! -
Everything about me basically revolves around Lego as far as a hobby, a small business, and a way of life... But Discussing Lego building as a hobby on a resume seems to me to be a little pointless unless it had something to do with sales or something of that nature because most people would really have no clue what you are talking about when you try to explain that you like to build advanced mechanisms... I still have trouble explaining that my models are actually Lego when people see them in person...
