  1. Lego taught me how to look at the world with a different perspective... Especially when it comes to problem solving... Having Lego Technic in my life at the very young age of 3 sculpted my decision making skills and my creativeness all throughout school in the 80's. I was in gifted classes throughout elementary school and middle school and was always very good at math... I like to think that Lego was responsible for teaching me at a young age how simple things worked so when I started school, I already had a huge headstart on the kids in my class... I now view things from multiple angles rather than the obvious that is presented before me... Which is what you have to do with every Technic piece... In my opinion, Lego Technic is the best thing that you can possibly buy for a young child to develope common sense into something much much more advanced...
  2. Here I made a GIF of it...
  3. LOL.. I didn't know if I should call it the 42,000 or the 4-2-0-0-0.. The first few times I recorded the narration I said 4-2-0-0 and had to keep re-recording... Then the mic in my computer doesn't seem to record for crap and I was yelling at my monitor and my dog was sitting here wondering what the Hell I was yelling at because we are the only ones home...
  4. Considering that I make $0 from every instructions sale, I have nothing to gain by deceiving anyone... I am just hosting the instructions as a friend and if the model wasn't beyond expectations, I wouldn't be hosting them in the first place...
  5. I recorded this outside on my porch yesterday.. It was 5 degrees F...
  6. I just did my first ever video review for this model...
  7. No, you are not stupid, you're alright.. ;) I had a HOG steering on this through the first stages of the chassis developement, but I decided to eliminate it...
  8. Nice work for such a fast build, wow..! Sometimes I spend 2 weeks doing a door...
  9. Thanks Milan..! Some parts of the body were very tricky.. I wanted to have a good looking body, but not look overdone... I definitely taught myself a few things with this new car...
  10. Finally had a chance to get some more pictures.. The weather has been really bad(Extremely Cold with snow) and I wanted to get some pics out in natural sunlight...
  11. That is really nice... Looks like it came from OCC...
  12. Hand of God front wheel steering.. 4 Wheel independent suspension.. It also has a winch...
  13. Nathan would have absolutely no reason or incentive to fix view counts...
  14. I was too, that is why I felt the need to post it here...
  15. I can't tell if the pick up truck is 4WD or not.. The front wheels have the center snaps from the 42000 hubs in them and might have new steering arms or the ones from the 8070...
  16. I know this isn't Technic, but he is one of the more well know Technic Builders and some of these model are similar to the Model Team like ones that I have seen posted in here before.. Jim, If there is a more approproiate forum to move this to then please do... I am amazed by how good this promo video is... Set reference: http://brickset.com/sets/5867-1
  17. Yeah, Ebay takes 10% of the final value(and another 10% from the shipping charge) and then Paypal knocks you for around 4% when the money gets transferred... The fees are not bad if you make a good profit because there really isn't a way to reach out to a large marketplace all over the world like the one at Ebay... I can only assume that most(or some) of the people selling their Simpson's sets on Ebay bought them with their saved up Lego V.I.P. points and are cashing them in that way.. It doesn't make much sense to pay $215 for a set and sell it and only end up actually getting $210 for it...
  18. The average selling price seems to be around $265 with free shipping... Assuming the sellers bought them at retail price and paid tax, you are looking at around $215 on average.. After factoring in the 14% in fees to Ebay and Paypal($37 on $265) and then another $20 for shipping, I don't see anyone even making any money on these... The only ones really profitting are Ebay and Payal... I guess you get your V.I.P. points though... It would make more sense to split the set up and sell the house and figs separate...
  19. Yeah, you have to shop around between Bricklink and Lego to find the best prices... I acquired $200 worth of Toys R Us Gift cards from a promotion they ran back in October and was hoping to use them for the new sets for parts.. The Gift cards expire on the 24th of this month which is in 4 days...
  20. I am not going to be doing anymore AFOL based shows because there are way too much politics involved in them... I am just going to stick to local shows, charity events, and all around toy shows... This suspension is a pretty straight forward design... I wouldn't be surprised if someone else already built the exact same thing prior to this... Yeah, there isn't anything ground breaking about it.. The new parts pretty much self-dictate how to use them...
  21. Yes, there are new parts in it.. Steering arms, 5 length stop axles and 3 length axle pins...I went with a Linear 4 Speed gearbox built into the chassis to keep the shifter as low as possible... This is the front suspension...
  22. The hinge works like this... It actually took me quite some time to get this right...
  23. ^The "bearing" in the black hub doesn't have as much play in it as the new hub does... The CV joint doesn't bind up when steered... I wish the new hubs were somewhere between the old ones and the new ones.. I would rather have the black hub with pin holes in the top and bottom... Lego went the right direction with these new hubs with them being universally more usefull (I would also have rather had more offset with them too) but the end result isn't up to par with how good they should have been...
