I'm sure that others are already thinking about buying 2 and seeing if it can be MOD'ed into having actually useable interior space for minifig's. I know it wouldn't be true minifig scale but I would love to see someone like Lego Sajak do his usual double set on something like this. Hopefully someone here will try and pull it off.

Here are my Lego modular buildings, obviously everyone can recognize the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer but I also built two MOC's one of which is a row home and the other will be either a jewelry store or art house. I have all the modulars except Market Street (I had one but sold it since I didn't think it fit the other modulars as well) and the Town Hall (which I am trying to get but don't want to spend over $450). I plan on making a MOD Fire Brigade that will be 64 wide and 32 deep with the bays extending all the way to the rear of the base plate and the first floor raised two bricks so I can accommodate most fire engines that TLG has made. I love seeing everyone's builds as they give me inspiration for my own or showing me what can be achieved with time and ingenuity. As I start to build the other buildings I will make sure to post them here but having a 5 year old and 20 month old doesn't leave much time to build for myself, having a daughter that loves Lego's as much as me is lots of fun and junior is starting to build Duplo. I look forward to getting feed back and giving it as well, even though my comments will be more of congratulations and less criticism as most people here have a much higher skill level than I. Excuse the Ed Reed jersey in the background, I'm also a Baltimore Ravens fan a football coach which is another passion of mine, maybe one day I will build an M&T Bank Stadium MOC, one can dream.

1) I was signed up when I made my first purchase at the local Lego store. I am spoiled by having two stores with a 30 minute drive of my house so most items are readily available at my local store. 2) The biggest feature that I use is obviously the VIP points you get with purchases. Since i buy a fair amount it certainly adds up. I also like the early notice and opportunity to buy before the general public. 3) VIP doesn't really influence my purchases unless its a get double points for buying a set thats already a line I would buy i.e. Friends for my daughter, Duple for my son, or city for me. 4) I would like to see more double points to all purchases opportunities, I would like 6 one day double points day on all items which I think is fair to both consumer and TLG. I also agree with another commenter that there are WAY too many Star Wars promotions, I love Star Wars as much as the next guy but I would LOVE to see some special Modular promotion. I don't know what you could do outside of double points but maybe you could offer exclusive Mini-Figs for the modulars with purchase, these should also be limited to 40-50 per store so they are actually collectible. My dream scenario would be a bonus set that could help decorate or furnish the Modular that the promo runs with i.e. multiple movie posters for Palace Cinema, a safe for the Detectives Office, extra pets for the Pet Store, furniture for the row home in Pet Store. This would be a huge bonus to VIP members and make it something exclusive. I think most VIP's want more Double Points and more exclusive items that will be rare. I would also like to see a lot more VIP raffles for items like The Bat Pod, although I want it to be limited I think it should be more than the Bat Pod but not over 10,000 units. I really believe members would love more raffles of great sets like this. And finally it could be great to see VIP's offered either an auction or raffle for interiors to classic Modulars i.e. a cafe for Cafe corner, farmers market for Market Street, upgraded interior for Green Grocer apartment. The biggest complaint I here about the older modulars is their lack of interior details, this would let TLG make very limited interior upgrade sets that would be highly collectible and great for lifetime AFOL's like myself. 5) I have never used a call center since I have 2 stores so close to home but I will say that the customer service I get when I walk in is the best of any retail shop I frequent. The staff's of Lego stores in Annapolis/Arundel Mills Maryland are not only some of the most genuinely nice staff I have ever encountered but they all are genuine fans of Lego and are quick to help you in any way possible from getting me a shipper box for sets I plan to store or letting my children play with all the display sets. Unlike The Disney Store or Chick Fil A which both have staff that are well trained to present as being joyful there corporate boiler plate responses show that they are TRAINED, at Lego stores every employee has a true love for Lego and it shows.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Naptown11 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The only two things that I would like to see in the next modular is 1) The set is 2200 pieces or more. The sets seem to be getting smaller and smaller as they release them, I don't need a TH size set but would like it to be somewhere in the middle. 2)Interior, interior, interior. I love coming here and seeing all types of MOC's/MOD's of buildings and the one thing that TLG has got to get better at is the interiors. The DO is great at having a real flow and delineated spaces but GG you have to walk through peoples apt's to get to the next one which is not really plausible. Also on the DO the Highlander doesn't even have a bar which doesn't seem to be plausible in real life either. Basically I would like to see something that has all of the bare necessities of a regular building i.e. the DO being the only place that has a bathroom that could be used by the office and barber. The friends sets do a far superior job at cool interiors so TLG really doesn't have an excuse to not build an interior that matches the exterior facades that keep bringing people back. Either way I will continue to buy sets and also MOD them to make them my own. The only set I don't have is MS and that is because I sold it since it really doesn't fit in the modular line as well as the others. What say you Eurobrick forum, what would you like to see the most in the next modular building? -
MOD / MOC - Upper floors interior for Green Grocer
Naptown11 replied to BraselC5048's topic in LEGO Town
Love your interior, I like the radio over the bookcase as well. I'm about to start building my green grocer soon and thought about adding an interior for the 2nd and 3rd floors. This gives me a few ideas and if I g through with it I will be sure to post them here. I also agree with Kristel that the bedroom being on the 3rd floor will allow more room for the bathroom while also making a living/dining/kitchen area on the 2nd. This is only a minor gripe but overall I still think your mod is great. -
Great build!! I always like seeing what new mods you put in your square. I wanted to know if you had to buy any extra bricks for you XL Bank or if everything came from just two sets. Keep up the awesome work, I like to look at your builds for inspiration and just to check out.I'm just starting to build a city with my kids now and we have a Cafe Corner with extra 2nd Floor, Green Grocer that's currently under construction, and then all the other sets except MS and TH in boxes waiting to go. I plan to make an extra floor for the GG and make an XL Cinema with true stadium seating. Again hats off to your stuff as it is truly amazing.

I love all three of the ships you have built and posted here. I've seen the Mississippi, Arizona, and the blue hull that I can't remember the name. Judging by the photos it seems you have almost an entire armada in the garage. Keep up the great, and quite frankly unreal, work I'm sure that I am not the only person that enjoys seeing these amazing ships. I also wanted to ask if that was a Japanese aircraft carrier in the background as I thought I saw a couple of Zero's on the deck (From its size my guess is it might be the Shinano). If that is a carrier and you have some pics please post them as I and the rest of the community would love to see them. Again keep up the great work, I haven't seen other pieces of this scale on this site except for Lego Sajak's gigantic town and square, if you would like to see a huge city check his stuff out.

Does your Palace Cinema have 2 screens or one? In the one photo it looks like there is another room to the right if you're facing the projector. My next project is combining 2 sets to make one large MODlike yours on the outside but I'm going to make stadium seating possibly with a balcony. I was very happy to read that 2 sets was enough to make a full square, not having a bare back corner like Cafe Corner. Your town overall looks amazing, I look forward to seeing the subway when it's installed.

Great work!! I'm going to MOD my palace cinema by combing two sets and putting them on a 48x48 baseplate. I'm still deciding on whether to have a balcony like you have or just do stadium seating, and possibly some combination of the two. I wanted to ask if you built a staircase to the balcony/projector room, if so could you post a picture of that? I think your build came out great and it's builds like this that inspire me to try and build my own. My first project I'm about to attempt is making a 4 bay Fire Brigade and then on to the cinema. Thanks for any help and for posting this great MOD.

You've got my support for the Camper on Idea's a while ago and now I stumble across this. I like a lot of the vehicles you made but especially the fire truck. Will it fit in the Fire Brigade? I am looking for a new engine to put inside and or MOC the whole FB to have 3-4 Bays and a taller first floor with all the bays being full depth. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work.

I too find this to be an AWESOME build that I would love to be able to build for my daughter but the drop not really being a drop kinda killed it for me. I love everything going on but it after reading the description I guess I got a little over excited for the drop. Still a great build and I love your other MOC's for the amusement park, it looks like you will have a full park pretty soon. Keep up the great work.

This is my vote for top build in the contest. I really liked all of them but I think this would fit in perfectly with the Winter Village and and even though small ice rinks already exist building one is very easy. My favorite detail is the skate sharpener but overall I think the size and functionality of the set fit in with the other sets perfectly and would make the perfect addition, now just send a letter to Lego if you end up winning and see if they would build it, I know you would't get any money out of it but it would still be great to see this as a licensed set. Good luck with the competition.

I too like the snow globe and the painting as well, my only gripe is that from the outside it is a beautiful building but outside of the 2 wreath's and three 1x1 white float slopes there isn't any other snow or holiday signs outside. It is a beautiful building inside and out but I think adding a string of light bulbs around all or every other pillar or the same effect with vines representing garland. Just a couple idea's that I think could make this really pop inside and out but it is still a great build.

Review: 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
Naptown11 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
How were you able to get yours before the Jan 1 release? I know that there are some on eBay but they don't go on sale till tomorrow online, I've been eagerly waiting for it and the Brick Bank Never mind, just saw in the beginning of the review, sorry for that I skipped ahead to the build review and all the detailed sections. Great review and can't wait to get my hands on one soon, I'm hoping the online Lego Store goes live at 12:01am EST. -
I have only recently been getting back into Lego's and Cafe Corner is my first build that I went after. Now that I have seen yours I wish I had seen it before finishing mine up as I think this is the best MOC I have seen yet of the CC. I think I would have put less rooms in the hotel so you could have a bathroom on the second floor and not have some be so cramped but that was my only minor issue if it really even is one. I absolutely love the Cafe and the Hotel Entrance. During the build I thought that the Hotel felt more like an afterthought once they finished the Hotel sign. Where you really knocked it out of the park on the build though are the intricate small's where the devil is in the details i.e. the bar taps color running all the way down the counter and my personal fave was the key holder. Keep up the great building, it inspires me and I'm sure it does many others.

Very impressive build not just in scale but also in detail. I also love the Storm Troopers being the audience. I will never be able to build, nor have the space, for something of this magnitude but its always a lot of fun olive vicariously. Thanks for sharing.

Love builds like this that are kept simple yet have everything you could want as far as details go. This is the perfect size to either put on a coffee table or china hutch to display during the xmas season.

Great build, hopefully Lego will start getting creative like this with their next Winter Village set. I'm sure I wasn't the only one disappointed by the rehash of the Toy Shop. I also really like your primary colors being red, tan, and gold as most of these winter sets have become all brown and white for snow when there isn't any good reason that these sets can't have more festive color like this. Keep up the great work.

I really like the back as well, will it fit in a FB? I'm trying to find fire trucks that will fit into my custom FB where the bays have been extended all the way to the back and the first floor and doors have been given one brick of additional height
-
Will it fit in a 10197 FB?
-
I'm building a 4 bay 10197 FB now but really like the look of your modern Fire Station as it looks like a few of the new build stations in my area, Annapolis MD. I am going to raise my first level one or two bricks and extend the bays to the back of the base plate to fit larger engines but yours allows for full size real deal engines, maybe even a hook and ladder down the line. Overall its a very clean and classic design which to me is the best way anything can be if trying to emulate new construction today, maybe some architects should look at your MOC for any real stations if they want it to remain a great design instead of fading with time. Great job!

Outside of my dream for Lego to build an official Polar Express train this should be the 2nd generation Holiday Train since the original is now selling for obscene prices. Great build, you should be proud of your work.
-
All I can say is WOW that is a great Pub. I really like all of the little details without it being too packed full of stuff and the luxury condo above is great, the closet is a really neat detail I have never seen before. Hopefully one day I will be able to build something of this magnitude.
-
Do you have plans for your expedition truck? I would love to turn it into an offload Fire Truck and build a bay for it in my Fire Brigade, its going to be 4 bays wide and have a raised 1st floor by 2-3 bricks to accommodate larger trucks.

Awesome set, I wish that Lego would make something like this for my Winter Village. Right now all of my energy is being spent on building a custom 10197 FB four door MOC but love your work.
