  1. Seeing as TCW has come to an 'end' of sorts, I think that LEGO could really start making some sets with some of the Jedi that only got the cartoon treatment. Mainly Ki-Adi, Aayla Secura, Luminara, and Plo Koon. Unfortunately, the only one of those who could realistically get a new set is Ki-Adi. CIS Tri-droid - based on Ki-Adi's death on the bridge on Mygeeto, the set could be one of those big three legged walking sphere turrets, with Mundi, Commander Baccarra and a Republic Marine ( red Snowtrooper ). $30
  2. Hello everybody! I've been debating buying the Fury Interceptor ever since it came out, but the only reason I want it is for the Malgus fig. I've already looked at Bricklink, and there is nothing available in Canada. So if there is anyone here who has one they are willing to sell, or knows where I could find one for a decent price, let me know! My price limit is roughly $30, but I'm willing to negotiate.
  3. So I've been taking a more serious look at the new AOTC sets this year, and it seems like LEGO kinda dropped the ball in a few areas. Well, really, they just threw away the chance to make a new Slave 1. Rather than putting Jango in the snail droid set, Obi-Wan in the gunship, and Boba in the calendar, they could have all gone in one set, along with a Kaminoan. Then they could've replaced Obi-Wan in the gunship with a new Kit Fisto, with dark tan robes and olive green skin, perhaps even a normal minifig head with a tentacle headpiece. Same with the snail tank, give us Plo Koon or Bultar Swan. It's just a shame that LEGO decided to put Jango in a set that makes no sense, especially when they could've made just one other set, and give us two other Jedi, plus a Kaminoan.
  4. I would say, for a Star Wars collection, look for the most iconic vehicles/sets that have the most important characters. Don't go for battle packs or army building right away. Get sets like the Falcon, Podracers, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Slave 1. I've found that with Star Wars sets, it's impossible to be a completionist, as said above, so having a focus on a certain film or trilogy really helps in narrowing your collecting to a reasonable amount. I haven't bought as much Star Wars recently as I used to, due to the LOTR sets, but I now see that if I ever return to the Star Wars theme with any intensity, focusing on sets based on the films is the best idea. Clone Wars stuff, while fun, is way less impressive or satisfying, IMO, than film sets.
  5. I think the Helm's Deep game will be the first LEGO board game that I buy to actually play. I bought the Hobbit game, but solely for the parts. The LOTR game looks really fun.
  6. Congrats, Dock! A well deserved title!
  7. Just calculated the cost for all the new sets this year, and in Canada it comes to $1,015, BEFORE TAXES!!!! Damn, LEGO, why you gotta be so harsh on the Canadian pricing!
  8. Does anyone feel like LEGO movies are gonna become a trend with WB? I mean, I love the idea of LEGO movies, but I fear that they won't be popular enough on a big enough scale.
  9. This is the way to do it! Take your time, enjoy the build, and immerse yourself into Middle-Earth! Unfortunately, I don't have the money for the Tower right now, but I'm hoping to get it in the fall.
  10. I really think people fearing no Gondorians is absurd. Gondor played such a major role in the films. There is no way that LEGO would just leave that goldmine of material untouched.
  11. Bolg could get a hair/helmet/beard piece, and then shoulder armour like that one PoP assassin.
  12. This looks amazing! And it has such a great cast! It would be really cool to get sets based on this! Also, the stop motion look of it is fantastic. It feels like real LEGO come to life. Love it!
  13. Hopefully he'll be in the Battle of Five Armies set. That is Bolg, so he needs to be crushed by Beorn during that battle. Also, I think tan would be best for his skin.
  14. Said Ackbar the Grey.
  15. That size comparison pic makes the T-Rex head looks perfect. A T-Rex sized Smaug in either an Erebor or Laketown set would be perfect as the flagship set of the wave.
  16. He would need to be twice the size of the T-Rex, but that would work, with some brick built folding wings.
  17. Yeah. And I feel like, judging from the size of his head in the trailer, only an exclusive would do him justice. Perhaps an Orthanc sized exclusive for the Hobbit line.
  18. Exactly! The one this that a leaked list would confirm would be whether or not we'll get Smaug this year or next year.
  19. So no rumours of the Hobbit: DOS sets? I find it strange. I'd expect to have heard some rumour, a list leaked from somewhere in Europe. It would be unfortunate if we didn't hear any news till Comic-Con. Other than pure speculation, the conversation has dried up.
  20. One of the major changes Jackson has made is the orcs. At the time of The Hobbit, Azog was dead, but without someone chasing them, a sense of greater danger doesn't exist. Sure, originally the elves of Mirkwood were hostile, almost wicked, characters, but since we have an expectation of what elves in Middle-Earth are like because of the LOTR films, the elves' hostility couldn't be the main danger in that section of the story. Having orcs chasing the dwarves is really cool, and having Azog gives Thorin an enemy to directly confront in battle. In the book, that isn't there. Also, people seem to have mixed feelings about Smaug. I for one am amazed, and think he looks fantastic! But I've also heard a rumour that this may not be the final design we see, which honestly makes no sense. Why would PJ allow Smaug to be revealed if it isn't the final version? Why put the time and money into something if its gonna be altered? The rumour may have no truth behind it whatsoever. I also mistook Beorn for one of the three heads of Fluffy from Harry Potter!
  21. One thing they did well with the Ninjago dragons were the foldable wings. A similar tenchique combined with sail-like fabrics to fill in the wings, and you've got nice folding wings for Smaug, that way he could easily be posed curled up on his mountain of gold.
  22. He easily could be, but not realistically from LEGO. No, he'll likely have a body and head twice as big as the T-Rex mold from last year, with large wings hopefully attached like the Eagles'. Who knows, we've seen Smaug in the trailer, perhaps he'll be the big reveal from LEGO at Comic-Con.
  23. Unless this movie ends with Smaug's death. The big climatic battle could very well be the attack on Laketown. As for the trailer, its amazing! The movie will be way better than the first! But I really fear that whatever LEGO does, they won't be able to do the size of Smaug justice. Judging from the size of his head compared to Bilbo, a decently sized LEGO version would need to be at least 3 times bigger than the current Castle dragon. He could easily be a massive brick built set just himself. As for Beorn, he will need a new mold. The current bear isn't mush bigger than a normal minifig, and just the glimpse of Beorn's head showed that he's at least four times the size of a regular human. I'd say a Dewback sized animal would be perfect. Also, I'm now kinda wishing they hadn't done the Barrels set. While a nice set, it looks like that scene will have a lot more action once the dwarves are in the river.
  24. Also, Ahsoka could make sense of Leia's comments to Luke about their mother in ROTJ. Why not show Ahsoka visiting Bail on Alderrann shortly after ROTS to make sure he's ok and find out info about Padme, Anakin and Obi-Wan. She could have found some old recordings of Padme, and set out to find out what happened to her. She then could show the old recordings of here acting in the Senate and what not, which would have planted the memory into her mind. That way the comments from ROTJ make sense.
  25. I can't remember, but Bag End was announced and shown last year, so perhaps the whole list will be revealed this year along with one set revealed (Thranduil's Halls please!) And that hair looks 100 times better on her! If LEGO doesn't do this, it'll be a huge shame.
