  1. Huh, I don't remember Thorin turning into a toddler by the end of the book. I've been thinking about how LEGO could do Thranduil's hair with his crown. Perhaps they could make his crown attach to his hair, similar to Tonto's bird. That way he doesn't always need to be wearing it.
  2. I just read the Empire Magazine article on DOS. My level of excitement for this film is so much more than before, and I really hope that LEGO does justice to the film.
  3. I guess. The way that LEGO handled this fig being distributed was very poor.
  4. Am I the only one who is surpirsed that we haven't seen any sort of review of the Azog fig?
  5. No, but its such a major scene from the book and movie that LEGO will have it represented somewhere in this wave, and its likely gonna be a bigger set. My hopes is that its the set Azog will be in.
  6. I think he'll likely just be there doing bad megablocks elf things, like killing giant spiders in creative ways, much like his handiwork during the battle of the Hornburg or when he took down the Mumak. Plus, I think the relationship between Legolas and Thranduil is something that will be interesting to explore. It seems like there are gonna be two father/son stories in the second film: Legolas and Thranduil, Bard and Bain.
  7. Ah, well there ya go! Hopefully they reveal the set list by August, and reveal the Thranduil set at NYCC (note I'm saying ha they'll reveal it with such surety, because its undoubtly gonna be a set)
  8. That makes sense. I remember last September we got a very blurry look at one of the posters that had images of all the sets. Then more a more images started trickling out from all sorts of places. I just hope we get a set list soon, so we at least have something more concrete to discuss. I get tired of speculating after a while.
  9. Well, that was a disappointing waste of everybody's time. Anyway, I still don't think it changes the likelihood of Azog in the new wave. It just wouldn't be a good business move for him to not bein at least one of the bigger sets (Thranduil's Halls). And when is the NY Comic-Con?
  10. I think we need to calm down about this whole thing being true or a lie. I'm not %100 on board that its true, but I am hopeful and will wait to see what Sandmirror can show us. But I do believe that Azog will undoubtedly be in the new sets, colour change or not.
  11. We'll get this proof. I mean, people on here are from all over the place. It's 3:30 in the afternoon where I am. His dinner could be at any time. It's funny, I was watching AUJ yesterday ( 8th time I've seen it ), and I could really kinda tell, especially with the chase with Radagast and the Wargs, how they edited around the fact that Yazneg was originally Azog. It was a very late decision to change Azog into the Pale Orc, so it's neat watching Yazneg's early scenes with that in mind.
  12. That's exactly what I'm thinking. It was just wishful thinking that maybe we'd get Azog early. I'd buy another Wargs set if it meant an Azog fig.
  13. That prototype Azog is a sign that he's definitely gonna be in sets next year. LEGO could be replacing Yazneg with Azog in the Wargs set from now on. Would they do that? I'd love that!
  14. I think the Beorn fig will depend a lot more on cost. It's undeniable that Beorn will need to be a bigger minifig, possibly using the Toy Story fig parts, or something more. That means that it may cost more to include both versions in one set. So we may not see his bear form till TABA sets.
  15. I'm hoping to get the headpiece from the game, the helmet/hair combo.
  16. While you're right, I don't see any other possible chances to get generic Helm's Deep elves, and if I had a choice between armored elves or scouts, I'd take the armored ones any day. LEGO tends to manipulate the rules when it comes to fig placement in sets. It's a bit irksome when it comes to main characters, but I'm fine with generic soldiers popping up wherever there's a chance. Just as long as we get them.
  17. Especially if it saw the creation if the much wanted Moria Orc helmet. I would gladly take a larger Lorien set if it meant Moria orcs and some Helm's Deep elves.
  18. I love the fact that its winter when they reach Laketown. It looks awesome. Plus we've never really had any wintery castle sets, so the Laketown Chase is sort of a breath of fresh air when it comes to that. I'd love to see more castle stuff based in winter.
  19. The entire Army of the Dead being the King and two soldiers.
  20. They could base the Lorien set on the deleted scene where Moria orcs chase the Fellowship to the Golden Wood. That way, the set has some conflict.
  21. How did you do that render? Is that possible in LDD? It looks fantastic!
  22. Part of me fears that we won't see a Lorien set. If they make Galadriel in the new Hobbit wave, I don't really see a reason for them to make Lorien other than its a nice location. It wouldn't offer any new big name figs, and would take up space in the next LOTR wave for a possible Gondor set. Also, I think that we should no longer be allowed to discuss Minas Tirith. It's sparked negative discussion twice now, and I know it's kinda impossible to dictate what can and can't be talked about in this thread, but I think Minas Tirith is something that could be at least left on the back burner until Xmas time, when we'll likely have some sort of news for LOTR 2014.
  23. Lots of people are complaining about the lack of dark brown. Why? The set looks nice. If it was all dark brown, it would be too dark. I also think that this won't be the only Laketown set we get. If the showdown with Smaug is the climatic battle of DOS, then the flagship set of the new wave should be his attack, which means we'll get more of Laketown. That would make the Laketown Chase set a decent add on to a larger diorama of the city. While it may seem unlikely, I think we're in sore for two Laketown sets. EDIT: deskp, those comparison pics really help showcase how amazing LEGO 's work is with these figs. Amazing representations of the actors and costumes!
  24. Azog will likely turn out to be light bley. White is too light for his skin colour, tan is too much on the brown side of things, and anything darker doesn't suit him. Light bley with either dark bley or tan or flesh scars will be the direction LEGO goes with the wide release of this fig. I mean, he's an albino, same as his Warg. If you shaved his Warg, it'd likely have vey light grey skin, so the same goes for Azog. Also, is anyone else really excited to see the box art for the new sets? I know we haven't even gotten a full set list yet, but we can pretty much guess what LEGO will do. But with the new LOTR wave, they changed the Ring in the corner to the Eye. Do you think they could do something similar for The Hobbit, or just leave it the same?
  25. I can only find two. Could you possibly post links to the others? I want to see the prices, see if its worth it.
