  1. When Gandalf is whispering to the moth on top of Orthanc, apparently he says Gwahir.
  2. I would gladly forgo new versions of the Dwarves and instead get more new characters. It would be ridiculous for LEGO to try to fit all 13 Dwarves into one wave again. Much like the second LOTR wave, LEGO needs to focus on the secondary characters who get major screen time in DOS.
  3. Like I have said many times before (along with many others), LEGO would be silly to not release reasonably priced army builder sets. Uruk-Hai Army was an amazing set, and I bought 7 of them, but while the price was ok, I really hate the fact that I have 7 Isengard ballistas that I have no use for. Those bricks could have so easily be substituted for a couple Elven warriors, a Uruk Berserker, and another Uruk swordsman. But, alas, that did not happen. I believe that LEGO fully understands the immense army building potential that LOTR has, and that plenty of fans would buy battle packs like crazy. I just believe that they haven't had the courage to make small sets with generic figures. Every $12.99 set we've gotten has had two main characters, because LEGO seems to be playing it safe with easily recognizable scenes that any LOTR fan, AFOL or not, can look at and think 'Hey, that would look great on my desk', or something. Plus, look at how long it took SW to get battle packs. LEGO SW had been around for nearly a decade before the battle packs started. I'm not saying that we won't see BPs, but I think LEGO is more likely to do BPs for non-licensed themes, or themes that have had the time to prove themselves as successful. Then again, they had that strange POTC battle pack, although it had mostly main characters.
  4. A Balrog set is probably the number one set on most LOTR fans' wish lists. I was thinking about whether or not the Balrog would be best as a brick built creature, or as a molded creature like the T-Rex. Then I realized that a brick built version could have a light brick integrated into the spine of the creature, allowing for the flames on its back to glow menacingly. (Also, this post is kinda trying to revive this thread a little)
  5. Absolutely! I've always felt like Elves are the only real army who could defeat Uruk-hai in an open field of battle. That's why Elves decked out at the same level as the Uruks would be flippin great!
  6. I think any armour will be printed (Haldir is an example of that), but new helmets are definitely needed. I really hope that the DOS wave has some sort of army builder, be it for Elves, Dalemen, or orcs. Maybe this wave can focus on Elf army building potential, and the TABA wave can be for Dwarves and Dalemen. That's another thing I can't wait for: Dwarf warriors. Generic Dwarf soldiers in the fantastic armour seen in the prologue of AUJ.
  7. Unless they used it as Orcrist as well. A single handed silver Elf sword would be perfect.
  8. I just rewatched the new DOS video blog, and there is a shot with some Elf extras with one handed Elven blades. Does anyone think that we could be in for a new Elf sword with these new sets?
  9. From what you say, LEGO may have a tough time covering it all with 6 sets. I hope this wave is bigger, maybe 8 sets, so they can really do justice to everything. However, I doubt we'll get any sort of look at LEGO Smaug at Comic-Con. With PJ and Warner Bros working hard to keep him under wraps (we have seen his head, but that's it), I doubt they would allow LEGO to reveal their Smaug. It'd be like the early action figure release of Tauriel. Kinda spoiled the anticipation and surprise of her character. Honestly, I'd be happy to just see new figs at Comic-Con. Give me pics of Azog, Thranduil and Bard, and I'm good.
  10. I'm thinking more along the lines of Thranduil's Halls, the vast subterranean kingdom of the Mirkwood Elves. Include Azog and some orcs, and you've got yourself the flagship set of the wave, or at least the second biggest set. I really hope the smallest set has something to do with Radagast, but they could also do Gandalf's fight with an insane Thrain.
  11. I have a very strong feeling that we'll see new figures that were featured in both AUJ and the DOS trailer; Radagast, Azog and Thranduil are the three characters that stick out in my mind as the most important new figs, maybe Bard as well. And I think we'll see a Mirkwood themed set. Makes the most sense to me.
  12. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere before, but there is a Yoda Chronicles visual dictionary of sorts, and it comes with another Special Forces Clone trooper with less blue. Pretty cool. Brickshowtv has a (kinda boring) review of the book here: Early on they give you a decent look at the fig, but after that the review is really pointless.
  13. If anyone is interested, I was reading a short article earlier today that talked about how Star Wars Ep 7 won't be at Comic-Con at all, but instead, Disney plans to possibly reveal some new info at the D23 Expo the weekend of Aug 9th. I am speculating we find out the full film title, ore maybe some casting info. Anyway, just something to look forward to. Here's the web page for D23 in case anyone wants to take a gander. https://d23.com/d23-expo/schedule/friday-august-09-2013/
  14. And I gotta say, kudos to LEGO for making a completely non-canon SW set. While the show itself is kinda silly, I love that it gave the designers absolute freedom when designing the figs. Sure, they have to have the same feel as any other SW fig, but they weren't based on any one thing. The figs are definitely the best thing to come out of the whole Yoda Chronicles project.
  15. I like the special forces clone because he reminds me of old paintings of Ralph Mcquarrie's depicting Stormtroopers with shields and lightsabers. That's why I'm likely gonna give my Special Forces Clone a blue lightsaber.
  16. I've been thinking more and more about the Jek-14 story and minifig, and I've come to the conclusion that LEGO missed an opportunity to introduce a new lightsaber blade colour, along with make Jek look cooler. Rather than have him have blue eyes/arm/lightsaber, they could've made it white. White eyes, with his alternate face having white lightning on it. Trans clear lightsaber blade and arm. I think using white would've been 1) cooler than blue, and 2) given Jek a sort of neutrality when it comes to allegiances. Not being pinned down by any colours means that he could be the Frankenstein monster of clones, wreaking havoc across the galaxy, with no real goal or ulterior motive, not trying to win any battles for a side. Just absolute neutral, but a chaotic neutral. Plus, a trans clear blade would've looked WAY cooler in his white lightsaber hilt.
  17. Love this Fives fig! Shame LEGO never did an official version. They really missed a chance with those Umbarra sets.
  18. I doubt there will be any classic Rebel ships in the series. Since the show will be taking place while the Alliance is forming, we will get to see the development of the various ships they have, so we'll likely see the progression towards the final versions of X-Wings, Y-Wings, A-Wings and so forth. With every day that passes, I'm getting more and more excited for Episode 7, and while that is a long way off, it's still fun thinking about having older versions of Luke, Leia and Han as official figs, alongs with their kids.
  19. That is a fantastic design! I'd love to see that as a real set!
  20. Yes, both of them. I'm slightly confused as to why you asked that. Abrams stated in an interview that he was a Star Wars fan as a kid, and never really big into Star Trek. So I just think that he is likely not going to ignore big things that are important to fans. The major difference between the Star Trek films and the new Star Wars trilogy is that with Trek, Abrams was completely rebooting the story, fresh start. He was able to create an alternate universe from the old show, and thus changed things from the old story without retconing a single thing. But with Star Wars, it's a continuation, and while he could just retcon anything, I have a feeling he's less likely to. I think that, unlike Lucas, he wants to make these films for all fans of the saga. This new trilogy has given the Star Wars franchise a chance to redeem itself after the atrocity of the PT and general mediocrity of the CW, and both Disney and Abrams would be shooting themselves in the feet if they don't pay attention to what the fans will expect from the new films.
  21. Faefrost, George Lucas has been all of the place on his idea for Luke post-ROTJ, and it has been said that he DID have a romantic relationship in Luke's future. I don't think Mara Jade is out of the question, and with that Florence Welch rumour circulating around the web, I think there might be some legitimacy to the idea of Jade being a character. Also, it has been reported that Lucas and Abrams have not yet discussed anything together about the new film. Lucas says it is because Abrams has been so busy with the new Star Trek, but that is now done. Some believe Abrams has been keeping a slight distance from Lucas as a way to retain his own creative influence on the story, which has been confirmed to be based on the various notes and comments Lucas has made over the years. Lucas has been known to force his own opinions onto the other creatives involved in his projects. I mean, Liam Neeson once said that when he first got the call for TPM, he accepted without having even read a script, because it was Star Wars and how could he pass that opportunity up. But after filming, he stated he hated working with Lucas; that Lucas didn't allow his actors to put their own spins on their characters or try to grow and develop the story better. So I think that Abrams (who has said he's always been more of a Star Wars fan than a Star Trek fan), while keeping to Lucas's notes, will not completely ignore some think from the EU that the fans expect to not be tampered with or made non-canon. And Mara Jade would hopefully be one of those things.
  22. I've had dreams about LEGO. They usually are around Xmas or my birthday, and I'm getting a set that doesn't exist. It's usually a set that I have imagined, one of my wish-list sets, and when I wake up, I feel unhappy knowing the set isn't real.
  23. Okay, perhaps I was misunderstood. Back when LEGO SW first started, we got sets like Final Duel 1 and 2, Jedi Duel, Tusken Encounter; really cheap sets with main characters, specifically Jedi and Sith. That hasn't happened for a long time. New or rare Jedi and Sith are now always in bigger sets, $25 or more. And when it comes to prices here in Canada, BPs are $16.
  24. I never expected they would in the first place. Hamill, Ford and Fisher are all too old to play Han, Luke and Leia during the Thrawn trilogy. Also, this is where I saw Chloe Moretz suggested, and there are some other suggestions. http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/23/star-wars-episode-7-casting-call-top-7-suggestions-3852356/ I don't agree with all of those suggestions, but Saorise Ronan could be really good. I also believe that Dane DeHann (Chronicle, Lawless, Amazing Spider-Man 2) could make a perfect Jacen or Ben Skywalker.
  25. This has been long overdue. Perhaps I could get one?
