  1. The Triad forever, I'm assuming
  2. I really like how you formed the back of the build with those sword leaves sticking up, very effective. As always the story was fun too.
  3. I was going for light-hearted, never mind. Enjoy your day. Hopefully there will be more constructive back and forth than negative as we go on. By the way, my character builds stuff in Nova Terreli, goes on the odd MRCA with his trader, at least until a naughty pirate took it, and has his own little story which keeps me happy and hopefully isn't too boring for everyone else. He's not really a "monster", at least in my mind...
  4. You do get the feeling there are a lot of Corries sitting in big armchairs stroking a fluffy white cat whilst laughing maniacally every time they see another post with ESL vs SR, ESL vs OL etc themes, either that or they are getting busy with their big wooden spoons.... . May the banter continue, @Kabel - don't be disheartened I think we need this type of attitude and development far more than we need optimum building strategies to maximise our faction bonuses x100 etc etc.
  5. Glad I've got a couple of smiles. I can't claim credit for the pipe, I saw it here, as with so many little bits and pieces all you guys are helping me get a lot more out of my MOCing
  6. Alejandro and his friends were awaiting news of the Fénix in the Rattled Sabre rum bar, it had been gone longer than anticipated and concern was mounting. The team decided to get through this with rum and food in abundance, it was the only way... Suddenly the door opened and an unusually well observed hush descended on the room. A very piratey (but not in a Sea Rat sort of way at all, it would have been impossible to mistake them, honestly impossible) man entered and made straight for Alejandro. "Sr. de la Calle, I come from L'Olius, he has your ship, the Fénix, which he holds along with the Queen of Terreli." "He kidnapped the queen? How did he do that?" "No, the ship, the Queen of Terreli" "Oh, I see... you should have said it in italics then, like this, the Queen of Terreli, there you see, nobody will get confused". "You seem to think it funny Sr. I can assume you have so much money a trading ship has no value to you at all. "Oh, if only, my good man, but you see I have every confidence that an elaborate building challenge will come to my rescue, and failing that there is always a cough sistershipping cough." A few of the people around the bar tutted their opinions of the dreaded "s" word and the messenger looked aghast at such a proposition but Alejandro smiled, thanked him for his time and returned to his friends. 7. Sublime, full of envy at your skill and admiration for a Bobs masterpiece.
  8. Duuuude, sweet looking plantation
  9. But that is probably for the best, Eslandola should be the ones trying to save their warship anyway...
  10. I agree with Captain Wolf, nobody wants anyone to feel cheated or that the system is not inherently fair. I think we would all rather everyone walked away feeling the spirit of the game was being adhered to, not just the letter of the law, as it stands today.
  11. Can it be not just limited to a cathedral for art and culture. I would prefer to have a choice, could be a huge museum and gallery instead...
  12. As this goes back and forth I'd just like to say that as the previous owner of the Fénix, which is obviously far less important to the game as a whole than the Queen of Terreli but still important to me, I am going to go ahead and assume that I can sistership as it is my only ship, come what may in this situation. As long as this is fine I am going to leave all this alone and wait for a resolution to be announced later on but I would briefly say this - all these systems need to be fair and seen to be fair, otherwise there is going to be aggravation over things we shouldn't be getting worked up about. This is not meant as a pop at anyone, I feel that sometimes there are so many people inputting ideas and things changing on the fly, that too many people are missing key things, and then feeling like people are gaming the system when I honestly believe that is not the intention. I love that people care about things like this, I think there is a really strong base here and so much potential we can build (yes, intended) something special here. Good luck folks.
  13. As said previous owner of the Fénix I'd just say it was my only ship so I can sistership it anyway, I was going to do a build as you described but this preparation process has taken up time that I could have used for building that and now I don't see myself getting it done, I will do a more simple take on it for my MRCA result if I get the chance and then use a sistership which will look identical to the one L'Olius has pinched from me. I think whatever the outcome that this probably isn't the way to go with this type of issue going forward. It sounds fun in theory: practically I don't think it works.
  14. Doing my accounts and I nowbelieve Alejandro de la Valle can actually afford three shares not two
  15. Sign me up for two in the name of Alejandro Dr la Calle
  16. Freemarket, Nova Terelli, a medium commercial property, currently unlicensed. Edit - now licensed as of 23/05/16
  17. Could someone add in the [ESL - FB1] part to the topic please, if it is still required... Here is the Freemarket in Nova Terelli, being a larger settlement it isn't the only market in town, it generally sells fresh food and drink, and has a bustling feel most of the time. Nova Terelli, Freemarket (i) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (ii) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (iii) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (iv) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (v) by Phadeout, on Flickr From a Lego point of view this was my first "proper" tree, certainly possible to improve on it but I was fairly happy, I also found it took a staggeringly long time to lay all those 1x1 round tiles but again not unhappy with the result. Apologies for the photos, I am going to have to invest in a proper camera sooner rather than later. This is a medium commerce for the EGS but I won't be licensing it this month. Alejandro's Story for those who are following continues below; Alejandro and his rapidly expanding group of friends and partners were waking through Freemarket on their way to lunch at the Rattled Saber when Roldolfo mentioned he wanted to browse, Hideo, the kendo instructor who had been training Alejandro and Nacho, went with him whilst the other two wandered. By the single tree in the marketplace Alejandro noticed a somewhat familiar face. He turned to the young boy and called to him. Tomasito by Phadeout, on Flickr "You there, don't I know you? No, no, don't worry, you are quite safe I just remember you from Bardo - you were playing in support of a woman with a most amazing voice - what are oyu doing here in Nova Terelli?" "Like you señor I traveled there for the fair" the boy answered "but I think I remember you as well, you did something to an Olean marine who was shouting at my mistress, he turned sick all of a sudden and had to leave. We never had a chance to thank you. But we have gone our separate ways now and now I am looking for new opportunities in Nova Terelli, do you know of anything by chance?" "Well it just so happens that Nacho here has been getting a bit of a nuisance recently, I was looking for a valet and I imagine you would do a fine job. Anyway Nacho is needed for more serious tasks now - we have a lot of work to do here in Nova Terelli, business has been good and there are some new developments opening up here every day." "Señor, that would be wonderful! My thanks." That's settled then - Nacho, where has Roldolfo gotten to, he'd better not be annoying that beardy chap again - he has no sense of humour that one. Roldolfo at the market by Phadeout, on Flickr "Why are you here again? You seem to come here just to start trouble - what is your problem?" "My problem is I don't understand why you are trying to sell this rubbish, it is all just a load of crap - look at that lamp, clearly not real gold - just an ugly knock-off". "I'll have you know that it is a magical lamp - I can't show you or the magic will be wasted but it can call forth a djinn who grants wishes." "Do you think I came down in the last shower? Do you? And this, what do you mean it is the "One Ring" You have a whole tray of them under your stall..." "this ring has the power to call them all and in the darkness bind them you know, as well as other useful magical abilities" "Them who? The other crappy trinkets you have under your table? "Just go away, if you don't want anything just go!" "Actually I was wondering about that hat..." "It's mine" "So not for sale then?" "No." "I thought you might want to get rid of it" "Why, it's my hat" "Yes but you look ridiculous in it" "Go away before I call the watch." "Fair enough, see you next week - I'm already looking forward to it"
  18. Colourblind too and I find Dark Red and Reddish Brown hard, and sometimes Dark Brown and Black too. The curvature of the pieces is often a thing for me - as they reflect the light differently I often have a harder time spotting the differences without a really good peer at them and then in some cases by comparing them with a "known" piece. Last month I moved into my man-cave properly for building purposes (I'm still allowed in the rest of the house - don't worry!) and as the lighting is better there I am finder it easier.
  19. No I just meant having the chance to be one of the three, if this was Eslandola vs a.n.other and I had a 5A from my own pocket on the line I would want the chance to have one of the spots.
  20. It is great that so many are willing to sign up on behalf of Eslandola and more likely an easy 10 doubloons but if this carries on as is I suggest the owner(s) of the ships in question get to say yes or no before the whole thing gets fully loaded. I wasn't going to do it unless I had to but if it had been a ship id paid for it would have been a different story. Good luck builders get my little ship back please :) oh and the Queen of Terelli which might be ever so slightly important to the nation ...
  21. Fenix was captured but as my only ship I will be shortly MOCing my reclaiming of her from pirate scum - or using a sistership which is to all intents and purposes identical - will check the rules. I will sign either of them up for the Dragon's Teeth run.
  22. Having written a whole big piece about the constant sinking of ships as I seemed to remember from the start of the month I thought I'd better check my facts before I pressed post - out of the 57 ships that left port in last month's MCRA 3 sank (there was a hurricane!) and one was captured - so the "sistershipping" issue would only have been an actual problem once. Sure it would suck to be that person, but if that is representative of the average month - obviously time will tell - then I don't think we have much to worry about. A far more common result was essentially "you receive nothing but you are safe". I reserve the right to have a bit of a sulk if I'm that player this time out but that is more because I have plans for all that lovely cash I hope to earn than having to build a replacement for Fénix! Sure, there are a few rules that need tweaking - large ships should be significantly more durable than tiny ones, for example but I think leadership have a lot of this in hand.
