The BTTF DeLorean looks fantastic, even without working gull-wing doors this is probably the best small scale car up to date. Really hope we'll get a 1977 Pontiac (Smokey & the Bandit) some day.

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
brimbolet replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You know what, at this point I wouldn't mind if Jyn & Cassian had survived Scarif after all and would return in another movie. Somehow I don't like all the storylines/movies/series set after the battle of Endor... the new trailer doesn't come even close to the atmosphere of Rogue One or Andor. -
I think there is only one way that it can work: it must be somehow in scale with Lego's Barad-dur. If it's too big than they'll look ridiculous on display next to each other.
-
Disappointing that the sets are clearly 18+ again; why not even a single set that is aimed at kids? Star Wars proofs there is enough room for everybody. At least the theme is still alive and the bust sounds promising; the ppp is significantly higher than the recent book nook, so I assume minifig Sauron must be included. Hopefully it won't be a retail exclusive...

A 50$ GWP is today unrealistic, you're right, but we had much better deals in the past. The forest hideout for example; 150$ threshold if I remember correctly (certainly 15$ worth) or the trade federation troop carrier from last year, 160$ threshold... -

Honestly don't know what they are smoking in Billund. The GWP itself is a joke, terrible, terrible design! Usually the value is between 5-10% of the threshold, so I was expecting really something more substantial. -

Agreed, come to think of it there wasn't at least for me a good GWP in a very long time. Don't like those without figs at all. Fair point, but it could be some regular figures instead, like generic stormtroopers in the rumored TIE fighter GWP. In our case just some drunken pirates, a pig and a scene from Tortuga for instance, anything one could bricklink for a small amount. -

Hope that some of the torsos will find their way to PAB one day. The old Black Pearl had 6 figs for 100$, if the new version would have 20+ figs accordingly the comments would've been totally different I believe. No figures in a GWP at that price point is additionally heartbreaking. A huge failure on Lego's part. LOTR fans were treated much much better in comparison. -

Ah yes, you're right. I've always had the impression it was some shade of very dark blue, but no. Shame Lego didn't make the characteristic dots on his vest and arms though. -

Great we finally see more (and better) pictures, but why we have to wait so long for an official reveal is beyond me. The sale starts if I'm not mistaken on 12 Sept! Box: Strange there is no Disney logo on it, but maybe that explains the ships name or the lack of it; so who is the owner of the license? At least we see the figures on the back of the box now, but I can't remember a single Lego set which has minifigs (blockbuster movie characters!) not shown on the front of a set! Incomprehensible, who is the target audience, somebody who has never seen a Lego pirate ship before? Minifigs: Not enough for the asked price, even if we would keep the selection only to those from the first movie we should get at last 16, so basically the whole important cast minus some random pirate figure as crew. Elizabeth's dress should have printed arms, Annamaria should have a special mold with a yellow scarf/bandana + hair, Barbossa's hat looks unfortunately totally wrong and his clothes should be very dark blue. Such a great character and he is the weakest figure of all! The others are fine. Ship: Unnecessary display options, which not only inflates the piece count but also makes the proportions look wrong; or it's the wrong sails and the hull is accurate. The probable lack of interior for play is also a shame. I wonder how many pieces will be used for the gun mechansim on both sides. It's a fantastic ship, the best looking up to date just the asked price is horrendous. Great the black hull pieces are back! -

So true, Lego should focus again on sets with well made minifigs . I really would welcome a few sets that are not connected with the current Disney+ shows, maybe something from the old Sith wars that would lead to Dart Bane and the establishment of the rule of two. -

Unfortunately older sets are much more expensive than new releases, so usually I'm waiting for an official remake and the following discount. U-Wing and the Torrent are the best ships from the past 2-3 years imo. ARC-170 isn't even close because of the stickers on the cockpit. That's absolutely unacceptable for me. -

Sorry but I don't believe any designer who claims that compromises have to be made in 300+$ sets. Dual molded legs are perhaps not always necessary but Lego makes enormous profits, if they can't improve the printing quality (e.g. white/yellow on torsos/colored bricks) or reduce the amount of stickers than they can't charge such high prices. -

There must be some reason. Andor is the best series, perhaps Disney doesn't feel additional promotion is necessary? They get plenty of money from various merchandise anyway. Or Lego thinks that the live action series are aimed at an older audience and that's why they are focusing on Clone War sets? Besides the TIE Avenger I'd really like to have the Fondor too. And a proper molded Rancor! -

Yes, there must be reason why both seasons got only one system set each. Andor has so much potential for battle packs, bases on different planets and spaceships, but close to nothing was implemented. Unfortunately I think you're right. But maybe Disney will surprise us all and figure out how to squeeze a 3 season into the current storyline. Then we'll get more sets at least. -

Wouldn't be surprised if there was an agreement with Disney that Lego is allowed to make only one system set for Andor, and they decided to make the U-Wing. K2so falls into the buildable character category. -

My goodness, it's a pumped up 4+ X-Wing... wrong cockpit and totally wrong shape if the sketch is accurate... for 70 or 100$ Honestly the worst thing in SW isn't even the price increase, but the feeling that with each set the design quality is getting worse and worse, wrong proportions, lack of play functions, etc... -

The smart brick was tested in the UK right? Any more information from there, does it actually work, what's the sound quality? -

Pretty close to what was expected, the rooms seem to be better executed than in the last DS but still you'll loose 50-60% of the pieces for the structure. Which by the way seems not more than 14 studs wide. I never intended to buy this, but I really dislike that the inner reactor core connected to the superlaser is missing. Various scenes are oddly arranged e.g. the prison block and trash compactor seem not to be connected and there are no play features included. Don't know if the elevator on the left is vertical or not (maybe there are openable doors), but it looks a bit messy on the whole. -

It was also a bad move to kill Barbossa in the last movie; Geoffrey Rush & Johnny Depp are the best pirates imaginable. Disney executives should watch their own movies from time to time; it was after all Jack Sparrow who changed the vessel into a pirate ship and gave its name. Before it was called Wicked Wench. I'd like to see them print that name on the boxes -

I honestly don't understand the point of adding a hot tub stormtrooper. Seems like a wasted opportunity to make some special figure. Mas Amedda for instance. -

Now I don't regret missing the first set. Wall-e, Eve and surprisingly Mo. It's an 100% must buy. Absolutely gorgeous. Wall-E's size seems to be nearly the same. Can't wait to see better pictures! -
How to Train Your Dragon - 2025 Rumors & Updates
brimbolet replied to karrit's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like Japanese anime and a Chibi styled Toothless is cute indeed, but the price is just ridiculous. At this size 30-35$ would be acceptable. New stuffed dragons from the series are 9$ each for comparison. -
Fabulous! That's how the Shire set should have looked in the first place - especially the tree and additional party guests.
-
Thanks for the pictures. Didn't realize until now that this book nook has more than half the pieces of the new Shire set (1201 vs. 2017)... unfortunately upon closer inspection the Balrog's head is not what I was hoping for. The shape looks totally different than expected in the better pictures.
