    Sorry to bring up a 2 month old tread but I recently bought the older version of this set 8459 and iv just built it tonight and all I can say is wow what a great set,the pneumatics work great with the air tank and it's a really good looking set, I bought a new misb 8459 and it's so nice to see such an old set look brand new,it even has a working steering wheel inside the cab,i also noticed the tires seem more like real rubber than the ones out now,this set really brought me back to studded sets and they really are great,also the older box is so cool and the instructions actually seem a bit harder than the ones out now.anyway great set and if u havnt got one get it :) I'm going to buy all the older pneumatic sets now :)

    Has anyone ever built this low boy trailer without the crane thingy ,is it any good or would it attach to 8436? Also would it fit 8043 on the trailer?

    Very nice indeed,have u ever used just 1 xl motor for drive in any of ur videos?if so was it lacking power or could it still drive on sand. Regards David

    I prefer pneumatics and as for tubes they look more real like hydraulics , looking at motors on an arm look ####.

    I totally agree and I'd love to see more big sets every year :) Look at the mini mog it's so boring it's not even funny.

    Ah I want to build it , like I said before don't like second hand sets, I'll just keep the box in storage :) iv just ordered a misb 8421 and an misb 8436 :) today.

    Mine sometimes sticks too,I got a replacement from Lego but its much the same,try some silicone oil spray!

    Just received my new 8459 everything sealed,box about 85% good some shelf ware,now do I build it or keep it :)

    Brick link prices don't go up this time of year there always the same! I'd say 8258 will get more expensive in the next few months,I got 8258 this time last year in the shop they had the last few left and people told me to get it,I think I payed €149 for it,that set must be gone by now as it was 2009 set.just get it off the Lego.com shop. On topic I'm trying to get 8436 and 8421 for 350€.

    No I do build them but keep all boxes too,I just like new stuff,for instance I ordered a new 8459 from 1997 but I could have ordered the newer version from 2001 8439 but is was only 10 euro cheaper so I went with the original for the better older type box,if there is only 50-80 euro in the difference I prefer new :) I can't figure out why 8421 is so expensive cause it's not that old and is it really that good?

    I can buy 8436 and 8421 for €399 + whatever postage will be,both are misb,are these both worth this money as I think they are?

    Yes I noticed that too,I havnt built my 8868 yet so I'm not to sure maybe conchas might know!

    Did Lego make adverts years ago like they do now? YouTube only has recent but has anyone ever seens adds for the likes of 8455 or even back to 8868 or more recent 8421 or 8466? Also is there any Lego videos out of Lego technic production lines/factory (technic only) or technic related? Thanks in advance.

    I used nuno2500 one,it's simple and works great,xl motor provides great torque and the steering is so simple and works great with the rubber band to centre it,the pictures are very good just go by the numbers ;)

    Cool I'm looking forward to getting it now,it's going to be just hard to open a misb box :( I love the older boxes but there is shelf ware on the one I'm getting I think.
