    Ok I get 8466 has a manual gearbox so can this model be motorised while been able to still keep the gearbox and manually use for differant speeds?i know it might be hard to take off in say 2nd or 3rd gear but is is possible to incorporate and xl motor somewhere?i bought this model and am rebuilding it soon :) Also are the huge tires a big drag on say if u added motors? Any info would be great . Thanks David.

    That's true but this crawler has a Lot to live up too,the most interesting thing is that it's Lego,s first rc set on wheels :) I'll Deffinatly be bringing this off roading and buy a second for display :)

    Not many pieces in rock crawler but this could be to keep down weight too,how many pieces had 8297?

    What other sets have these wheels? I'm not sure I have them!are they as big as the wheels on 8110? Edit just seen ur link,no I don't have these tires so!

    Would these be the same size as the rear wheels on 8455? I wonder going by those prices what will the price of the crawler be in Europe?

    That's expensive but if it's worth it I'll pay it,the rock crawler works out at €212 , how much it 8110 in Australia so we get an idea?

    8069 is not very impressive when u go buy 8455 , iv got both of the above but there some of my least favourite sets!

    A new attachment for the mog would be great next year,I wonder why Lego don't do add on sets for 8110 :( Anyway roll on more pics and info on this rock crawler :)

    I could leave them black but it would not be original then , I really bought it for those huge tires and there like new but I would like to restore the set now as it needs very little. I could leave them black I suppose , I need new cv joints too as there slightly crack from age but this seems common, I'll have to buy them off brick link as the 4 L cv joints are not made anymore!

    Black piece is worn from heat but yellow seems good,someone ran the jeep on a walking machine a full speed ;( kids ha , everything else is good tho :)

    Need 2 of these black hubs but for some reason there bought as a pair on brick link how come ? http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=10763 Can the black part be bought steperate off Lego? And do these not seem quiet expensive on brick link? Also does anyone know the Lego part number for the black and yellow part? Thanks David

    Today was my lucky day I picked up a second hand 8466 in great condition for €50, i need to replace a few universal joints and one hub has worn damage, what's even More funny is it was a lad I knew that had it,I didn't think he was big into Lego :) I really wanted the huge wheels too,I can't believe how big those tires are! They make the unimog ones look small :) Iv it all dismantled now and I think everything is there but I'll recheck on brick link inventory, I normally buy misb sets but I couldn't turn this down and the wheels and tires are mint :) Happy days!

    I totally agree I love 8455 to bits,it's prob my favourite too along with 8421 and 8110 :)

    Yes please do,I'll probably give 1h a miss but I will get 9397 log loader in march, @ blakbird do u display all ur technic sets or are they packed away in there boxes? I'd love to see a picture of the lot :)
