  1. I think a UCS Venator with ~3k pieces would work well
  2. I dunno man, Solo was pretty damn good. I think Lucasfilm have been doing really solid work with anthologies.
  3. I think OP was asking for the top ten of the 42xxx age, not 42xxx sets that would be considered top ten of all Technic history.
  4. Given that CW is returning, what would people think about a UCS ARC-170?
  5. I think I’d put up the 42038 Arctic Truck. It’s ridiculously cool and features live suspension, all done in a medium size set. It’s probably the only set I regret not buying. 42043 is an obvious candidate for #1 though without a shadow of a doubt.
  6. I’m not sure Lego’s a particularly good medium to make any of the Nubian Starships. It’s too blocky for their smooth contours.
  7. @Erik Leppen You’ve hit the nail right on the head in all of your comments in this thread. You’re an absolute treasure. If peeps leave positive comments/encouragement even after pulling apart someone’s build, the place becomes heaps more positive and enjoyable for all. I think that’s important.
  8. I'm not sure if you're being serious or just trying to bring up Buble. Either way relax dude.
  9. I'm talking about banning the posts, not the posters - I mean not allowing the posts in the first place. If someone absolutely needs to talk to someone, then they can either do it in the thread or via PM. All it does is clog up the feed.
  10. What aminnich said. @Jim what are the odds of banning metaposts like this one?
  11. In general, personal enjoyment is key obviously. I think it really depends on what your aim is. If you’re building for aesthetics then I think the most important thing is proportions and shaping. This is where sets like 42056 and 42083 haven’t quite hit the bar for me. If you’re building for functionality, then the answer is obviously numerous reliably working functions. That being said, proportions do also play a big part in a functional build. If I build a truck I want something that resembles the real life thing proportionally. I do have a penchant for presentation and neat MOC aesthetics. All in all I’d say it can’t be boiled down to one thing overall. @Johnny1360 @Magical Duck Aw man guys do you have to... Bublehead made this thread to get away from that
  12. Mmmm I dig the Gulf Oil colour scheme. Very nice model. One thing I think could be improved though is the front quarter panelling - at the moment it’s quite a bit boxy while the real model is round. I assume you tried but couldn’t find any solution that kept the front both round and covered, yeah?
  13. My only problem here is @Sariel indirectly calling @gate lazy for not being bothered about aesthetics and mainly focusing on functions. He built a mobile crane using CLAAS tyres - that’s pretty much the opposite of lazy.
  14. Nice crane. Probably wouldn’t identify it with Liebherr, because those tend to have closely packed and bulky proportions. Yours is quite spread out lengthwise. That being said, the proportions give it a Russian crane truck appearance which I find quite funky and cool, and worth pursuing. If you do that you could tackle fewer but thicker outriggers as well as reattempt suspension.
  15. It’s in every community. People are generally quiet until they’re unhappy. The Technic forum had it with the Bugatti Chiron too.
  16. Can you imagine the absolute shitstorm if Lego did that lol
  17. And a sound brick that goes the wblblblblblbl when you shake his head like in the movie
  18. With cheek flapping function
  19. @wesker UCS Boss Nass please Lego.
  20. I don’t think it’s unnecessarily big at all. What specifically makes you feel that way? If it’s the Slave I then I totally agree, but if it’s the actual structure itself then I have to disagree.
  21. It’ll be interesting to see if they’re sacrificing a UCS slot for an MSB. If so then it’s totally still a UCS. Back to the set - idk how I feel about the Slave I and Clour Cars. They kinda look like afterthoughts. Those fins on the Slave I are really bleh.
  22. Omg this so much. The distinction doesn’t really matter if it’s UCS or MBS - the same logic applies. They’re both fancy sets with fancy boxes, so exclusive minifigs would be expected. About the set though, while I’m not a playset dude at all, those arches on the top look beautiful ?
  23. @MAB @Mr Hobbles Does it not take up a UCS slot?
  24. Why wouldn’t they put exclusive minifigs in a UCS set? People would be losing their minds if there weren’t any exclusives here.
  25. Not that I’d buy it but a Hammerhead Corvette or Profundity definitely deserve to be made, or Krennic’s Shuttle in UCS.
