Technic 2018 Set Discussion

I know, right? This set could totally use a torque tube for the rear axle. -
42078 - Mack Anthem

@shimon That replica looks spot on ;) One question, how much does the drawbar flex under the weight of the trailer? From the released photos the one-stud thickness seems a bit thin -

Looking awesome! One question though - have you experimented with different designs for the nose? Looking at some pictures of the real thing it seems like yours’ nose is a bit stubby/blunt. -

Not at all, I bought the Arocs, which to be honest did have some inconsistencies, however they weren’t to the extent that they made it look goofy like the Mack. On top of that, the Arocs had additional benefits that outweighed any potential goofiness, such as pneumatics ,solid axle suspension and a motorised compressor. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to wish for proper proportions in a licensed set. -

Something's been bugging me about the Mack truck and I finally figured it out: 1. The nose is longer than on the real thing - they should have shortened it by one or two studs. 2. The nose doesn't curve down at the nose tip like on the real thing (at the top of the grill, not the bottom). It does curve, but from the wrong end, which ends up making the nose look a bit square. 3. The rear axles are about two studs too close to the rear of the truck. If these three problems were fixed, I'd definitely buy this. -

Isn’t there a thinner version of the wheels that the 49.5 tyres use? -

Not sure how to feel about the Mack Anthem’s tyres not being doubled up at the back. -

Hold up, I thought you were responding to @AOW’s comment about the orange 3L axle in 42074 and that you misread it as 42071. Never mind! -

Efferman I love you. I've been waiting for someone to build a scheuerle-style Technic trailer for years and you deliver <3 Is there any chance you'd do reverse building instructions for this? -

This is exactly what people were saying about 2017, that there'll likely be an IP car. And yet, nothing. Don't fall into this kind of thinking -

I've gotta admit, as basic as 42084 Hook Loader looks, I really dig it. It has that 80s cabover truck appearance, and the rugged off-road looking tyre treads really suit it. It looks far better than the truck in 42060. -

Have they actually? Without 42054 and actually 42039 (I only realised this one like 10 minutes ago), what other sets have changed significantly? Like, this is a genuine question, not at all meant to oppose you.
