  1. I disagree. With exception to 42054, prelims are a VERY good indicator of the final set's final form. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these leaks (given that they're from a catalogue) are made for retailers. They wouldn't trick retailers into buying a set that looks completely different than advertised.
  2. I know we don't know much about the design process, but my god, I feel exactly the same.
  3. I don't understand why Whack and Bash, both Lego Racers vehicles, are even part of the Technic lineup at all. This isn't what Technic should be about :( I wholeheartedly feel that the low price racing vehicles should be in the Lego Racers theme like they used to be - the two new small sets this year, 42059, 42058, 42047, 42046, 42034, 42033, 42027, 42026, 42011 and 42010 don't belong in Technic at all
  4. All those small sets look so bad ): why can't TLC make small sets that look nice? So hyped for that Mack truck though!
  5. I'd hate to think how impossibly long it would take to create a deconstruction album for this. This is amazing in every way
  6. Nah stuff that, Imma rant. For a set that was in development for two years, TLG underdelivered pretty damn hard.
  7. For the crappy quality and functions of the released set, that's SUPER depressing
  8. UCS Venator class SD bloody hell please TLC, it's the sexiest non-OT SD there is
  9. Works with beans tho so I don't mind too much :P I think eventually it's going to come to me redesigning the arm altogether. I might go for cable supports
  10. I found a way to block those two points on the pivot. Also, I found a simpler way to get rid of the 5L beams getting caught, which was to just remove them and the pins holding them. I did this because I found that in my previous solution, the connecting tray was in the way.
  11. @nguyengiangoc I just finished the set, and you can't actually place two 5L beams there because they interfere with the connecting tray. Instead I used two 4L L-beams. However, I found two points on the conveyor belt along the frame pivot that stop it when a load gets caught. I blocked one with a 3L pin + pin connector round 1L, but can't put anything in the other one because there's no connection points there. Not sure how I'm gonna fix that :/
  12. @nguyengiangoc So there's the LBG 5L beam that's part of the conveyor. It gets caught on the ends of those two DBG beams like you pictured. I'm wondering if simply extending those two DBG beams (by adding new ones) will prevent the 5L from getting caught
  13. I know it's old as hell, but I just saw this and damn it's beautiful. Good job man
  14. @nguyengiangoc Oh man, that's actually so bad. I haven't gotten up to building that part of the set yet. Do you reckon two 5L beams on the inside of those DBG beams would stop it getting caught?
  15. @nguyengiangoc I see. I don't really like relying on clutch gears to not slip. I think I'm instead going to try source the high friction and see if i can redesign those points
  16. @nguyengiangoc More torque, but not so much that it could cause the gears/axles to snap. By increasing the output speed, don't you just make it more prone to slip?
  17. @nguyengiangoc Man what a poorly designed power train the designer made :| I have two ideas... one involves adding a third 24z 8z pair, and the other involves rubber bands
  18. Can you not just replace the 24z clutch gears with normal 24z gears? Alternatively, can you not do: 24z 8z 24z 8z 20z 12z ...?
  19. Looks similar to a Promethean Watcher from Halo, except without the engines! Good work :D
  20. Oh man WHAT. I thought that stencil was just some sort of inside joke
  21. How are you going to connect the long webbing at the front?
  22. Man this is some amazing work! Some ideas for pairs you could do (bold for personal favourite combos): MARVEL: - The Vision and Scarlet Witch - Thor and Hawkeye (only because for some reason TLG went with Black Widow and Hulk when it should have been Thor and Hulk or Black Widow and Hawkeye - Deadpool and Wolverine - Gamorah and Nebula - Groot and Rocket Racoon - Thanos and Adam Warlock - Falcon and Ant Man - Charles Xavier and Magneto STAR WARS: - Lando and Leia - Kanan Jarrus and the Grand Inquisitor - Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano - Anakin and Obi Wan (Clone Wars versions) - Tarkin and Krennic - Thrawn and Agent Kallus - Maul and Ezra Bridger - C-3PO and somehow R2-D2 - Yoda and red-robes Palpatine (someone already did these but I'd like to see your spin on them) - Kit Fisto and Mace Windu - Savage Opress and Darth Maul LORD OF THE RINGS: - Legolas and Gimli - Galadriel and Elrond - Smeagol and Bilbo THE SIMPSONS: - Bart and Lisa Simpson - Skinner and Ms Krabapple - Apu and Snake Jailbird - Sideshow Bob and Krusty OTHER (not necessarily pairs): - Robocop - T800 (good luck) - BBC Sherlock Holmes and John Watson - G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron - G1 Starscream and Bumblebee - Spock and Kirk - Baracus and Hannibal (A-Team) - Royal Guard and the Queen of England - Austin Powers and Foxxy Cleopatra That's all I could think of so far
  23. You and me brother EDIT: Wait you're not talking about the Venator are you?
  24. I'm still confused about how the hybrid gearbox works. Is each function a product of combined switch settings or does each switch control three functions?
