  1. Did you say you were gonna put the instructions up today for this beaut?? ?
  2. Great model, I'm definitely tempted to build this. Do you also have a bricklinkable parts list in "original" colour scheme to go with the instructions? Cheers
  3. They had all sets in my local Smyths today except the imperial battle pack - someone's been in and cleared them all! fortunately argos across the road had them, but that was the only branch for miles around that had any...(leeds, UK)
  4. Not long enough though imho. I've extended mine by 5 studs (added to the ends) which looks a bit better. problem is the taper on the lego version is slightly too steep . I think the model would look better if the actual fuselage was made smaller..but then you'd suffer more with minifig scale and reduced playability .
  5. I like it - it works! The black stand looks like part of the ship though ?
  6. Ebay seller more like!
  7. That didn't happen last year in the UK(when the release date was 26th December) , it took a bit of time for the retailers to put theirs out. Except for battle packs and micro fighters - which some shops did early.
  8. I don't think the shape of the craft at the front lends itself that well to an accurate system scale model. It would be too thin and we'd end up without a useful interior. As is the case with most sets, it's a compromise. Back to the OP - I totally love the shuttle in black, nice work. Did you attempt to convert the original model to black before building a new one? If so, how far did you get and how did it look? Here's a minifig scale moc (in black) from youtube which is impressive due to the size (and check out the interior on this thing;))
  9. Nah I disagree. Despite the wing issue (which is easily fixed) and the colour (which isn't) its still a great build. Nothing inherently wrong with it in lego terms.
  10. Love it - I'd say it was a great compromise between size/detail and accessibility. If lego knocked one out at this scale it would sell loads. Nice work.
  11. So I'm not the only one who thinks it looks a bit odd in the photos? I have the set but can't decide whether to build it or return it - can't help thinking that the lego at-dp is the better looking model (heresy I know!)
  12. Krennic's shuttle for me. Looks stunning!! Also made me feel disappointed all over again that kylo ren's shuttle didn't come in black!
  13. Great spot that one - it's barely recognisable! You're right, it does look pretty small - makes the LEGO model look well scaled. It would also help explain the otherwise ludicrous wing span on the official model shown in London.
  14. Very nice indeed. Good detail on the wings.
  15. I've hardly bought anything this year - I've been so underwhelmed by winter and summer waves. But I think these are superb and I can't wait until force Friday! Standout for me is the shuttle - such a cold menacing design, totally dig it!
  16. Great mod, the cockpit finally looks like the real thing. Does anyone know what the part number is for the black curved pieces used for the edge of the windshield? Many thanks :)
  17. Superb work. Am really looking forward to you releasing the lxf files - I will be building most of this
  18. I've never been much of a fan of Vader's tie, especially in lego form. But this is the best version I've seen - good work. You've captured the ball of the cockpit and kept the bulk and shape of the pylons. Nice.
  19. Hi Ramses25, nice to see your own take on the FO TIE!! Sorry to highjack your thread slightly, but since posting my original I shortened the wing span by 2 studs and beefed up the attachment points (by burying the angular plates in the wings). They're pretty solid now and swoosh very well indeed :)
  20. Bricks&pieces had these helmets for sale a while back. Couldn't resist buying a couple.
  21. I was hoping we were gonna get a new helmet shape for the Tie striker pilot. The TFA one is awesome - would like to see the imperial pilots get the same love from TLG
  22. Just grabbed the lxf file - my son took one look at your model and has insisted I build it a.s.a.p.!! Cheers mate
  23. Picked up one of the Hoth rebel troopers from 75098 via ebay. I wont say any more about the set itself, but some of the minifigures are really great and I couldn't resist getting this one:
