  3. Nexo Knights arguably targets "little boys" while Elves targets "little girls." It would be really nice to see something that targets neither the "little" nor the "boys" and "girls." 7 and 8 year olds are "little." Minifigures are much more gender neutral in design than minidolls, which were created to specifically target girls. I've steered clear of Elves, mostly because of their minidolls, but also because of the "girly" color schemes. Some of the recent sets I've seen leaked have improved color schemes, like tan and green, but there is still a considerable amount of pink and lavender. I think the sets would be redeemed by having minifigures, but that's from my point of view. I'm sure if I was a girl I wouldn't mind them as much.
  4. I actually stated that this is what "I think." Wasn't trying to confuse any opinion with fact. But it still makes sense to me. And of course they would have different commanders. Did the North and South have the same commanders in the American Civil War? They have almost identical heraldry. Only the color is different. I'd say that this means they have a lot in common. But I don't know if there is any official word on this. It would be nice to have a book to resolve these issues and give more flavor to those interested in keeping factual consistency.
  5. town.
  6. Same here. I'll have to watch the video later, but it sounds like they took a much longer time developing this than necessary. They should go "back to formula."
  7. Agreed! I wish they would make a gender neutral Elves-like theme.
  8. LEGO should know that there are alternatives to 2013 and Nexo Knights. They themselves made the Fantasy Era, Kingdoms, and Tolkien stuff. I'm not sure what inspired them to go so bold with Nexo Knights. They just needed to expand upon 2013 and make some more sets for the Ninjago and Expert age groups. I almost worry that Nexo Knights will try to cater to medieval, because there's bound to be something that mucks it up in the process. I'd rather just let Nexo Knights be as flashy and sci-fi as possible (like the new Ultimates that were leaked with Jellybean trans colored armor) and have the next Castle theme be darker medieval fantasy. I'm hoping that this 'fresh' new 'reimagining' of Castle is meant to build up more anticipation for traditional Castle sets. By holding off on them for a few years, they can build up demand.
  9. I saw these Bricks in Sets at another site, along with many more, in a nice convenient .pdf file. These look better than I was expecting, but still not as good as they could be. The dragons look very cutesy, but even if they weren't I wouldn't be impressed since they are brick-built. The color schemes look a bit less girly, which is nice, although they still have plenty of pink and lavender, and I don't see the purple leaves as much. I hope they're not going to do away with those leaves, as they were one of the best parts of the theme. Looks like the new hourglass is pretty cool, and we'll get that Elves fence piece in brown. Overall, though, it almost looks like this was made for a younger audience than the last 2 waves. They look more childish. And the consistent complaint about minidolls. Of course they're expected, but I still don't like them.
  10. That would be cool. Maybe when they finish up all of these licensed minifigure series (like Simpsons and Disney), they could do waves of 16 themed Castle related minifigures. Wishful thinking. They'll never do it. I'd prefer battle packs, actually. Like the old Castle ones with 6 minifigures. Those were the good old days for a reason.
  11. Ah yes, that's where they came from. I initially thought they were dragon wings, but then noticed they were thinner. I still might get this one, as I never got any Chima. I consider it worse than Nexo Knights, actually. Still baffling how instead of a real castle we got a... Terrible Tank Vehicle.

  14. Yeah, it seems that way. It was hard to tell initially, it looked like it was only the armor. But unfortunately, I think you're right. Amping up that sci-fi vibe.
  15. Finally voted in the Poll. Chose Pirates, as I think they will have the most fun land-based builds.

  17. Just noticed that Lavaria has what appears to be a new wing mold, so at least there's one of these that might be worth getting.
  18. Well I hoped Ultimate would mean "better" than the regular ones. Not "super-colorful" versions. Bulky was to be expected, though, as we had heard as much. We knew they were going to have armor with a bunch of attachments. I just hoped that the armor underneath would be useful to me. Lance could indeed have a summer wave Ultimate. I was anticipating his set, but after seeing these I'm pretty sure I will not be getting it. I was actually planning on buying multiples, expecting him to have the same silver visor he has in the other sets that have him, but now I'm thinking it will be one of those weird colorful space helmets (although at least his will be white). Still hoping to see this Infernox set.
  19. Not at all. Square Foot is the first that comes to mind, but even the Boba Fett from Slave I has the toe print. This Boba Fett may be lacking in the arm print, though, which is a disappointment. If so, I'll keep waiting for another as good as in the Slave I without the absurd price tag.
  20. It would be absolutely wonderful to get a medieval fantasy Castle theme that wasn't junior-ized, and didn't cater to the younger demographic (like 2013 did). They should target at least the older kids, 8-16, and do so without making it super flashy and taking it out of the traditional medieval setting (like Nexo Knights did). I liked 2013, and there are things I like about Nexo Knights. But a theme that feels like a good cross between Kingdoms, Fantasy Era, and Tolkien, while bringing back some of the the fan favorites from the Classic Era like Falcons, Forestmen, and Wolfpack, that could be a huge success, and would stretch my wallet to the limits.
  21. Truly Terrible Visors. That's one thing I think about these leaks. I'm disappointed in the trans colored armor and solid colored visors and helmets. I was hoping for more great silver stuff. These are full-on Jelly Beans. Ultimate Robin looks ridiculous, dwarfed by the huge bulky monstrosity on his back. Aaron looks like he's using Nerf weapons. Lavaria looks interesting. Might pick it up for the minifigure alone. The rest aren't worth mentioning (aside from the initial comments, which apply to all).
  22. It's true that the Medieval Market Street was just too huge to work as a set. I acknowledge that. I wish we could get something similar. That's pretty much all I really want from LEGO, great expert level medieval builds and minifigures. I still think a Zelda theme could be successful. Zelda games don't sell as well as they used to, but as someone who is a huge fan of the series, I don't think they're making the games as good as they used to be. I'm more a fan of the games that came before Wind Waker (my favorite being a Link to the Past), and I think sets based on Ocarina of Time would be very well received. Also, there is a community of LEGO fans that are very much into medieval fantasy sets that would add to the group of purchasers beyond the initial Zelda fans. And I understand that Daft Punk was just minifigures with quite possibly an expensive license, but I think a really nice small set done right could be very successful. Daft Punk has a legion of fans, many of them also fans of things like LEGO. And it could very easily be purchased by other fans of science fiction. Anyways, I just want to see sets that follow these themes: Medieval, Zelda, and Daft Punk. Those are 3 great ideas that could work if done well and within the guidelines of Ideas (or as their own themes).

  24. Just made it worth buying. Although at that price, I might just buy the Tauntaun and Wampa secondhand like I did with all of the Ewoks. Still, it would be very cool to get these creatures as I'm a big fan of molded LEGO creatures. Exactly, I had written this set off before this news. And about the other sets, 75131 - 75138, none interest me too much. Shame there's no printing on C-3PO's arms or the sides of his legs in the Droid Escape. That's a huge miss, in my opinion, a step backwards from the polybag release. Might buy it just for the Jawas, though. And if Boba Fett doesn't have the arm printing, I don't think I'll get that set, either. I'll probably just buy myself an Ugnaught. So, overall disappointment, especially with the minifigures that are worse than their predecessors, but excited about the prospect of Tauntauns and Wampas.
