  2. You and I are opposites on this, I really don't like brick-built creatures at all. This Smaug is a really nice design for a dragon. I can see why you wouldn't like the set based on your distaste for the movies. I often feel the same way. I personally enjoyed the movies. The lack of poseability really frustrates me about the dwarves as well, though, and that's something I didn't mention in my earlier post. Their short legs are just terrible. Articulated short legs can work, and third party companies sell them. LEGO should fix this issue. Anyways, when I said I liked the minifigures, it was mostly that I liked their torsos and found them to be very useful outside of this set.
  3. This is a really nice build, and would fit in nicely with the other LEGO Ideas Birds. The vibrant colors are definitely a feature, I can see why you chose the Kingfisher. Nice job!

  5. I see nothing wrong with the idea, but there are other, better ways it could be done. Specifically, the legs everyone is hoping for from the original sketch: I think most would admit that a new leg mold like this would be more than welcome, and that while printed normal legs would be just fine (and expected), these would be a million times better. That said, I think I like the new headpiece mold even better than the sketch.
  6. I see. Too bad the Tiger Tank looked ridiculous. Thanks for the information, I assumed it was a marketing strategy. About the Ultimate sets, not all of them are Knights. Some are evil, like Lavaria. Too bad Lance won't be in one, but I do like the Library set enough to get him there.
  7. That's the main reason I'd prefer the regular legs over short ones. Lack of articulation is the worst thing about short legs, drives me crazy. Now if they had articulated short legs, I'd prefer those over the normal ones, but the highest preference is definitely the new molds designed in the original sketch (and I think there's a consensus on that point). If they did the peg legs, I would hope for printing at least on the feet (rather than adding a black stud underneath). But yeah, it's not ideal of course.
  8. What he's pointing out is that the CMF Series 15 Queen has a skirt piece, and it has been theorized that some Disney princesses will use a similar piece in this Disney CMF Series. For example, imagine that skirt in yellow as Belle's ball gown from Beauty and the Beast. Maybe I'm missing something in your post.

  10. That's a great build with some very nice details. Your rocks looks wonderful. I really like the overall design of the castle itself with the stone and wood sections. Also, the fact that you went into such detail on the base of the build is a nice added bonus. I wish we could see more of the castle and the surrounding areas! Great work!

  12. Potentially, but the angle is a bit off, that curved line could continue behind her. Also, it's an artist's concept. I wouldn't imagine any of them to have arms the way they look in the drawing. But you may ultimately be right. A new piece could be good, but I'd just think it will look flat if done that way, and while I like the minifigure design in general I'd be less likely to purchase multiples if it was indeed a 1 x 4 skirt piece. It doesn't look that bad, and would look better with printing. I'd still prefer normal legs, and even better the unique new mold in the original sketch.
  13. Potentially. Her arms aren't likely to be like that, so who knows about the dress. Could be artistic license. Really have to wait and see an actual picture, but I'm thinking you might be right.

  15. Good idea. Kurt Vonnegut - Welcome to the Monkey House (Lots of fantastic short stories.) George Orwell - Keep the Aspidistra Flying (Wonderful tale of poverty.) Chuck Palahniuk - Diary (A great tale about a gifted artist.) H.G. Wells - The Time Machine (A classic story about, well, a time machine.) These are my top 4 authors.
  16. The modular castle idea in general is a great one, and something I think LEGO should look into. There are many examples of how to make it work, and I'm sure LEGO'd designers can come up with more great ideas. I've supported the above idea on LEGO Ideas already, but it's nice to see it here. Speaking of 'modular' ideas, I'd love something comparable to the Expert Modular builds like the new Brick Bank and Detective's Office, made in the medieval Castle theme. It's been suggested many times, but I'll say it again, a remake of the Medieval Market Village in this style would be most welcome.
  17. It looks wonderful. I already wanted the Satyr just based on the idea, but this makes me want him more, and want more of him. I just hope the legs look good.
  18. Nice Finn polybag. Hoping it won't be too hard to find / get.

  23. That's a neat idea, despite the fact that I'm generally against double sided heads (because they aren't reusable with certain hats or bald).
