  1. I have operated a go-cart-buggy and have bought one so does that count Also now that this topic was made I want to operate a Claas, Bucket Wheel excavator, and a Porsche...
  2. Well in Texas when it snows it sometimes really SNOWS like in 2010 I think it was like a foot of snow in a day.
  3. The motor mount was copied from TechnicRobots video for using custom motors the servo motor was just fitted inside a 5x7 frame and some little nubs on the servo were sanded off for it to fit properly. Thanks I am kind of a Lego purists in some ways and don't like using illegal building Techniques but I also like trying new things like this even if it is not %100 Lego if that makes any sense.
  4. Video is done! updated first post. Not many parts ere melted but one 7L beam that had a 4L axle through it that I didn't lube was fused to the beam. Yes Your Mod was a heavy inspiration to this vehicle and motor choice, along with your awesome description on MOCpages. Well that might have been me in the Porsche thread and I totally agree with the opinions of using the 3rd party parts to enhance performance going out of the realm of just using a few custom parts many except. Like I said to Nerdz I understand your opinion
  5. IMG_0560 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr Hello, Here is my new MOC I named "No limits", It features Traxxas Titan 380 motor Tenergo 5000Mah 7.2V battery HobbyWing Quicrun ESC Futaba Standard Servo motor Custom CNC milled aluminum parts by Brick Machine Shope 3D printed 4bevel gear differential by kind Efferman :) FlySky remote + receiver When I first build this it had full independent suspension but it was melting the CVjoints and UJ's I was using so I settled with a pendular rear suspension for rigidity and a single spring independent suspension for the front. Overall the suspension works well on pavement as well as on loose dirt or gravel terrain. Effermans custom differential works very well and has never ground gears even after my brutal driving and the high RPM's it is spinning at. IMG_0557 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr IMG_0555 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr The single spring front suspension really helps the performance because it basically allows one wheel to go up and the other down in the same motion much like a bogie but still allows up and down movement. One thing I am not happy about it is the HORRIBLE geometry since the top beams are monger then the bottom ones making it have a negative camber angle. The pendular rear suspension was the only choice since I dont have Effermans custom CV joint parts that would allow full independent suspension with drive. IMG_0558 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr IMG_0559 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr I mounted the ESC and receiver up high to allow air flow to cool the parts and have easy access to them. The battery was mounted very low with only 2 plates protecting it from the ground kept the SOG really low so I could do full-throttle 90 degree turns without flipping over. Overall it performs VERY well and has not flipped over ever and has broken the Lego speed record by doing 32kph IMG_0586 by JJ2Sam, on Flickr Hope you enjoy and please leave a vote on the poll on how you like the use of custom electronic parts.
  6. Hello Effe. I was wondering if you could make a 3D printed motor mount for the titan 550 12T motor somewhat like sheepy18's one. Thank you
  7. Yea that is true but I usea lube very liberally Yea but I think this mod might be never done since my low budget will not allow it unless one of you fine fellows will kindly donate me your (not very) fine Lego Porsche to me

  9. Yeeaaaaaaaa... I do have the the 12turn 550 motor but there is no easy way to mount it and I have absolutely no experience with 3d printing to make a mount. The 380 can handle the weight very well because of the low gearing (1:12.6) although it does get hot but I only run it at max 10minuest before stopping.
  10. Very nice model, looks close to the original.
  11. like AmperZand I buy parts I really don't need and then don't get the parts I really need
  12. I usually build on a table but it to full with parts I have yet to but back in their respective places so I have to build new sets or such on the floor slowly but steadily ruining by back.
  13. procrastinating making a video (again)

  15. Great review Jim One of your best so far, looking forward to you BWE review.
  16. I almost scored myself one of these for $115 but someone bought it just before me little bit disappointed.
  17. Looks great although I am not a fan of the rear wheel holder.
  18. OK sounds good to me I am using a Titan 380 motor, a HobbyWing Quicrun ESC, and a 7.2V 5000mah tenergy battery (I would recommend a lower mah because of size) It would be better to get a brushless motor like the Traxxas Velineon motor because they are more durable. Yes I would the entire inside would go along with a rebuilt suspension and no gearbox. I have been using lithium grease to lube the axle and it works fine for me, as a matter of fact the axles have less ware then the ones with my crawlers, I cant say the same for the to the gears. The motor would melt the clutch gear instantly so that would be a bad idea.
  19. The video might be delayed (again) because here in Texas where it never rains it is pouring making all the roads all slippery Anyway but it can reach 31.3kph with ease or 19.4mph
  20. OK my brain is fried! No more thinking for today Anyway This is a marvel of engineering.
  21. Oh I have done this before and barely anything has melted so far (forgot to lube one axle) I will post a video soon this week
  22. If I EVER get this set I know I am immediately butting in a Traxxas Titan or Velineon brushless in it... I just have to get over the $300 price tag, I'd rather just part it out since I will scrap almost the whole internals of the car.
