  1. @merman: How many 5x7 frames are in the set?
  2. OH WOW you already have the sets :-O
  3. How do you know the set have two small turntables? Are there are any pictures you can show us?
  4. I get it now! I used to think the connections at those 2 points are just pins and holes..
  5. I don't quite understand... Where would the other 2 turntables be in the A-model? Can you explain in more details?
  6. I'm not fond of sets that are too big, since my place is really small, and too mechanical, because I rarely play with the models. It was a real concern for me about where to put this BWE if I have one, and while it looks cool, the functions don't impress me much. For me the mechanism in the A model really boils down to arranging gears and routing axles. But after I saw that other side of the B model I know for sure I have got to buy this! I'm a big sucker for realistic details, so I really want this factory, with the filtering witchcraft. On an irrelevant note, it's the same story for 42009 for me. What really made me buy it was the reach stacker, and its various details (walkways, handles) delight me a lot. I kept 42009 in the B-model form most of the time.
  7. It's AWESOME! And it's crude... - Awesome because the various wedge belt wheels are used to make the realistic exhaust pipes. I've already been impressed at how the buckets are used for engine covers. - Crude because the way the BB is attached. I've always suspected that the BBox is at the other side, because that's the only place left. But I didn't expect it to be attached that crudely... I thought it was hidden inside with only an extended pin to turn it on, like that in the 42052. But that open mounting BB does give the feeling of a factory; it's like the huge power building all plants have. Also, hi-res B-model from direct side view: http://www.legonewsr...h1-1920x821.jpg Observation: - There are 2 large turntables, which means in the A-model, one is used for the rear conveyor belt and one for the superstructure. - The XL motor is placed really low, just some studs above the tracks. - The filter must be very, very compact, because the conveyor that bring bricks from the pit to the far left belt is not very far below the pit. - The bricks don't fall through the upper turntable in the far right belt. But all in all, hats off to Markus for both the witchcraft filtering function and the appearance. The B-model really looks like and most importantly FEELS like a factory!
  8. All sets are limited, but some sets are more limited than others
  9. I thought they were flat tiles, like those in 42043...
  10. The Claas uses curved 2x4 tiles for mirrors, not flat 2x4 ones!!
  11. I still can't figure out the magic inside the B-model... I can only see from the large images that there is a conveyor belt inside the intake pit, and the real filter mechanism is under that belt.
  12. Is there any way to get this set for 300$ at the moment?
  13. I noticed that the technique used to secure the roof and the seats in the Porsche were the same as those in 8070. Then I realized both were designed by Uwe Wabra!
  14. I attempted some MODs at the paddle handler. The aim is twofold: - Make the paddle handler closer to the steering wheel - Increase the distance from the center axle, so that shifting requires less force. I don't have a smartphone, so please excuse me for the low quality. However, the mods achieve both aims above. http://www.mediafire...703_022224.JPG# http://www.mediafire...703_022318.JPG# The 3L connector I use is this: http://brickset.com/parts/4121667. Since shifting with these handlers require much less force, the rubber bands can be discarded. If you wanted to use them, you can add two pins with tow balls to the middle holes of the 3L connectors, and hook the bands to them.
  15. @DayWalker: Thanks a lot! I much prefer your solution to Didumos' one.
  16. I've been wondering how the gears inside the paddle shift column behave when: - The paddle is pulled, but the gear mode can't change because of the 4th-1st gear block. - There is transmission initiated through the bottom axle, from outside the paddle shift column. I mean, normally the transmission will be initiated from inside the column when the paddle is pulled, and I've already seen how the gears inside behave in that case. What I would like to know is the reverse situation. If anyone with the set can make some clips to demonstrate those two cases I'd much appreciate!
  17. Maybe after the Porsche incident, TLG thinks that there'll always be some people who go "screw the embargo date", so they don't bother imposing one anymore
  18. @DayWalker: can you provide more picture of the gear indicator integration from different angles? I'd much appreciate!
  19. For the Race Kart and Mine Loader, the A and B models are designed by different designers. Race Kart A: Olav Krøigaard Race Kart B: Aurelien Rouffiange Mine Loader: Alfred Pedersen and Lars Krogh Jensen
  20. Isn't that obvious? There are 2 pumps, a manual one sticking out, and a small one intended for motor in the back. You can see more details about the manual pump in this pic: http://images.bricks.../42053_alt3.jpg I really love the B-model, because it has a lot of realistic details and closely resemble the real L30G. However, the stickers on the panels in B-models are different from those on ones in A-model. That means I'll have peel off the A-model ones to use the B-model ones, which I really don't like. And I just discover another shortcoming of the B-model. As you can see in the picture, the front section are connected to the rear ones only through 2 liftarms on the top of the turntable. This connection will be very flimsy.
  21. When a BWE talks about a BWE in a BWE thread, we have BWE-ception!
