Yeah I'm talking about the reverse-engineered one on techlug. Maybe it's all because of the old 3L connector. -

Maybe the problem with the gearbox built by the techlug guy only happens because he doesn't use the new connector, simple as that. -

The right conveyor belt got a lot more reinforcement, and the outriggers in the prelim model are gone. I'd say that is quite drastic -

In the B model, right above the stair leading from the ground there is a connector with a red bush. That's probably the gear shifting knob. -

I just image-googled "Lego 42056", photos from the latest week. That photo is linked to the premature pictorial review of some guy in Flickr. -

The mine truck doesn't have the engine. Its rail changes from black to yellow, and its front grill changes from grey to dark blue, probably to match the BWE's colors. And the B model got some drastic redesign. The prelim B model: https://c2.staticfli...7ffd83ce2_b.jpg -

It will seem too bad when you consider 230$ for 2793 piece Arocs and 220$ for 2606 piece Mobile Crane. -

I've been racking my brain lately to figure out how the B model filters bricks, but I can't come up with anything. Anybody has any idea? -

Maybe 42056 needs such a big box because the box that size is also used for 42055. Economy of scale. -

It's totally possible to modify the model to have 4D + N + R. Assuming the bottom is the 1st-module floor, there are 2 driveshafts going in the model: - 1 driveshaft goes from the rear differential to the driver handle. This driveshaft is at the 5th-module floor. - 1 driveshaft goes below the driver handle, through the gear shifting parts, and straight below the boxer engine. This driveshaft is at the 3rd-module floor. The center of the bottom is thoroughly clear. This means a driveshaft can run through the bottom, and by setting the rear gear in the driver handle linked to a driveshaft at the bottom, we can have 4D + N + R. The spare 32M axle from 42009 can fit the bottom from the driver handle to the back of the car. -

It can take up to 2 weeks after the launch for the instruction to be available online. At least 2 weeks was the case for the instruction of 42052. -

I really doubt if Lego would postpone this set and attempt some redesign. Only 4 days til launch, all the sets are most likely in stocks or on their ways. Besides, in the designer video Andrew said the final model already got Porsche's approval. Hence I can't help but wonder if Anio is being too harsh in his evalution of the set. -

You know what they say? And not a single respect was given to the embargo deadline that year. Well, maybe except Jim and Sariel -

One Servo to switch gears and one XL to drive will make the effect of gear changing more visible. -
I'll settle with the BWE, because: - Already have pneumatics and clamshell from Arocs, so no Volvo - Already have 3 sets with crane (Arocs, MK II, Crawler Crane), don't want another one, so no Claas - With BWE, I can enjoy building 2 models, or even 3 if somebody makes a trench digger for a C-model, while I can only build 1 model with Porsche.

So the gearbox will house 4 modes of gear ratio (in:out): - 1:1 (16z : 16z) - 1:0.33 (8z : 24z) - 1:0.75 (20z : 12z) - 1:1.33 (12z : 20z) I can't help but feel 42056 just is a big 42048 Race Kart
