Lovely! I've been waiting for this picture. Can you provide some shot from another angles, like from the front, side, or above? Also, in case you also have a 8070, I'd love to see 8070 compared with those 3.

Since when were clutch gears produced in yellow? -

The undercarriage alone already has 12 frames. The upper belt has 26 frames. The lower body of the turret has 10 frames. So at least 48 frames already. -
You know, at first I have no interest in the Porsche, and various reviews discourage me further. But this topic now makes me wanna own this set and apply all the mods to upgrade the set myself. Most of the time I just build models right according to the instructions, but this one really makes me wanna mod. Maybe that is what TLG is after? I mean the feeling of fiddling and finding out and upgrading by yourself.

I think another way to solve this without removing the two red clutch gears is to attach them to the grey frictionless 2L pins. I'm afraid that's not accurate. For one red clutch gear next to the changeover catch, even if it's not engaged, it still rotates, and with different speed from its axle, because movement from the engaged clutch gear is transferred back. Check the video, it's Sariel's review when he plugged the motor in.

I have been quite reluctant on spending my money on Lego recently because I've already had quite a number of big Technic sets, but if yours were on sale I'll buy with no hesitation! -

I assume that you intend to put your gearbox in the same place at the model's one. You can take a look at the picture below; there are only spaces for 3 yellow axles going down from the upper arm. Your gearbox has 6 different output axles. So I can't really imagine how you'll route all 6 of them down. -

Holy molly, that's a lot. How do you intend to pass all 6 axles down the superstructure? -

Why don't you make 4 and 5 control 2 tracks separately, like in 8043? -
I have some idea to put a gear indicator near the steering wheel. In the building instruction: - Step 137: Replace the 4L axle with a 8L axle or longer. - Step 159: Turn the orange connector with axle hole up. - Step 162: Replace the 12L axle with a 10L axle, or just don't push the 12L axle past the 12-tooth black bevel gear. Now the gear changing axle is extended on top of the steering wheel. Now the speedometers have to be compromised in some ways, which I haven't figured out yet. I'd like to see someone develop more from this.

Or maybe, the LA is made manual simply because there is only enough space for 3 axles going down, and driving the BWE, driving the belt, and rotating the turret are more important than moving the LAs. -

I'm reminded by the 42009, and the jerky movements of the outriggers. Even the L motor can't handle a bunch of gears in the 42009. This BWE may encounter a similar problem, even with the XL motor. Let's wait and see if Markus learns from the past. Probably because of that reason together with the prevention of all 3 functions being engaged at the same time. I mean, from the mechanical perspective, if all 3 functions are engaged at the same time the motor won't have enough torque, and thus maybe none function will be working. -

Background info for those who don't know: The BWE has 3 motorized function: - The upper switch: turn the superstructure, and only works when the middle switch goes up. - The lower switch: drive the BWE, and only works when middle switch goes down. - The middle switch: when it goes up, it rotates the bucket wheel + drives the conveyor belts + enables turning the superstructure + disables driving ; when it goes down, it disables turning the superstructure + enables driving. I have been wondering why Markus made the turning and driving depends on the bucket wheel switch, and I've just had an idea: maybe to prevent 3 functions engaged at the same time.
