  1. My guess is that the prelim arm is heavier than the official one, to the extent that it can bend some liftarms or wheelie the whole tractor if the outriggers aren't lowered.
  2. One argument that I see quite a number have brought up, which goes along the line "but we are AFOLs, and we don't need color coding / axle confusion is not a problem for us". The following parts can be disturbing to some people. I really find that argument amusing and to a certain degree, unreasonable. + Lego sets have age ranges, but as far as I understand they recommended ranges, not allowed ranges. In other words, there is no strict prohibition or regulation that a set has to be assembled by a person within that age range. Therefore the sets intended for older kids, who you guys may argue that will have little problem distinguishing axles, can still be bought and given to younger kids, who may have trouble distinguishing axles. + One of the intended effect of the axle color coding is to reduce burden on customer service. Just because adults can tolerate the challenge, and is willing to disassemble the sets to replace some misplaced axles, some young kids, or older kids, or even adults, don't. + Another factor to put into consideration is that, the sets have become more complex and more compact, which leads to more reinforcements and strengthening, which leads to more inconvenience when an axle is misplaced.
  3. I'm just blown away when I saw that the massive (to me) Arocs is totally enclosed inside the dump bed!
  4. One does not simply remain patient with regards to 2H sets.
  5. I'd separate the digging function from the slewing function.
  6. 12 quadrants 2 buckets left. Probably no track links left.
  7. It's for sale on amazon.de for 229.99 EUR.
  8. I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I was referring to the wedge belt disks on the bottom of the superstructure. When the superstructure rotates, those disks slide on the quadrants attached to the base. I was asking that, when the disks slide on the quadrants, do they rotate around their own axles?
  9. @Anio: Thanks a lot for the review. When the wedge belts slide on the quadrant racks, do they rotate?
  10. Can you at least translate the comparison between the Unimog and the Claas?
  11. My suspicion grows stronger when I looked back on the preliminary B-model. The prelim box says "motorized conveyor belts and sorting of bricks", while the official box only says "motorized conveyor belts". Besides, there's a gear near the pit in the prelim model, but no gear spotted so far in the high-res official one. Maybe the B-model used to be able to sort bricks, motorized-ly. But that function was dropped. :-<
  12. One does not simply regret buying the Claas! And one does not simply miss an published review... @M_longer: Thanks a lot for the reviews, this and the Volvo. I love the fact that your reviews contain shots of various stages in the build, which are hard to seen in Sariel's ones. If only the pictures were larger, so that I don't have to click them.
  13. And here I was, thinking that Jim was going to announce the review is ready
  14. Come to think of it, the only thing that the box says about the B-model is "motorized conveyor belts". I'm starting to suspect that maybe the B-model doesn't actually have a motorized sorting function. Maybe the bricks can be sorted, but manually, with a gear knob or a crank to move the filter.
  15. High-res photo of the B-model: http://worldtoys.pl/environment/cache/images/0_0_productGfx_e3197153f0c1e7bf12df06c4a6220ffb.jpg http://kockashop.hu/galleries/lego/42054/large/6.jpg I see one vertical bevel gear, one small LA, but no catchover in sight.
  16. That PPUNG managed to squeeze 4 RC functions into this set:
  17. Is the instruction of the B-model available already?
  18. High resolution shot from above the pit: http://kockashop.hu/galleries/lego/42055/large/9.jpg
  19. It's the last week of July and Jim's reviews are still nowhere in sight :<
  20. The 42042 has the multi-directional gearbox but doesn't have the battery box limit.
  21. Anybody wanna guess what function does the silage plow have? I think the motorized functions are: changing the angle of the side blades, and changing the angle of the whole plow.
  22. The B model only allow one direction of the battery box, just like the A model. There are 2 switches, one in the back, one in the front. At first I thought they are all connected to 1 switch that changes the function, but since the battery box is limited to 1 direction, now I think the 2 switches are connected to 2 functions separately (moving and filtering).
  23. The Claas and BWE introduce a building technique that is simple but has never appeared before: limit the battery box switch direction.
  24. A three-section boom with 5 cylinders. A small turntable at the tip of the boom. Perhaps a 5M cylinder to rotate the attachment pneumatically.
