  1. I googled "lego 42097" and "lego 42098" with the quote marks, and got the url to the French store among meaningful results. No need to know exactly how it is numbered and named in French And I tried "lego 42099 as well". Didn't get any meaningful result. On another note, I've just thought that, maybe TLG skip numbers in the product lineups this year and last year so that the final set of the 420xx series is the final set of 2019 and also the PU debut set.
  2. Sorry my bad I've corrected. Maybe the series will continue with 42100, or maybe the counting will jump to another prefix, like how things turned out in 2011 (81xx), 2012 (93xx), 2013 (42000). Regardless of the number, the 420xx series has been wildly successful, so wrapping up with a bang makes symbolic sense, and we all know how TLG like symbolic senses.
  3. To counter my earlier statements: - Usually all designers work on at least one A model in a year. This year Markus, Uwe, and Milan apparently don't work on any set of the 1H. So maybe 2H will have 3 sets, each designed by one. - It looks nice to end the current system with a big 42099 and kick off 2020 with 42100 or another new number system. - Maybe 42099 is going to be like 41999 in the sense that it involves fan design of some sort so its design is not final.
  4. In the past, if there was a confidential set, its name and image were blocked, but it was still present in the pre-release set list published by the stores. The fact that a store already listed two sets means there are gonna be only two sets for 2H. TLG went all out for last year 2H I think so scaling back for this year isnt surprising.
  5. I don't think the upcoming excavator, assuming there's an upcoming escavator, will use the same 4-motor setup as 8043. 8043 uses M motors, and they have been kinda unofficially retired. Also, Technic designers most of the time come up with new design for old types of machine. They dont repeat themselves. If anything, I think it would use two L motors and has two concurrent 3-way gearboxes, like the setup in 42070: First gearbox switches between drive mode and operation mode. In drive mode, the two L motors drive the tracks. In operation mode, the two L motors are routed to the second gearbox. Second gearbox switches between [superstructure rotation + first stage LAs] and [second stage LA + third stage LA]
  6. Better sell your organs in preparation!
  7. The set list for 2018 was leaked on December 2017 by Santa Degenerate. I wonder what he's been up to this year.
  8. Jim said there's gonna be a big excavator this fall, so let's speculate the bloody hell about it I think it's gonna be a majestic RC pneumatic front shovel excavator. That will be consistent with the inclination towards unusual machinery and the release of new valves and big sprockets. Maybe it's in yellow and orange. Like a Hitachi. Yellow because of the sprocket, and orange because of the new parts in the cherry picker and the Corvette.
  9. As if Porsche is gonna allow them
  10. I mean since "scooping machine" can refers to either an excavator or a loader, translating either of them into "scooping machine" in Vietnamese is both right and wrong . But your interpretation makes sense as well and I like it haha.
  11. In reality there are 3 waves already: the usual Jan one, the usual Aug one, and the oft-forgotten Dec one. I wouldn't be surprised if TLG is to take some sets in the Aug wave and release them earlier, like in June.
  12. In Vietnamese we have one word for both loader and excavator: "scooping machine". Makes me wonder whether the translations into VNmese are right or wrong. Or maybe it's Schrodinger translations.
  13. In general there are two kinds of spider crane based on outrigger design. The first one has two-section foldable telescopic outriggers, like this The second type has one-section telescopic outriggers The first type has 3 outrigger movements: radial spreading, unfolding, and telescopic extension. The second type only has 2: radial spreading, and telescopic extension. I think the upcoming set will be the second type, because the first type would be too complicated for a 900 piece set, assuming the outriggers use the Arocs gear racks. The telescopic extension function will probably be implemented like the boom in 42062. The outriggers should be able to tuck in neatly, so they will need to swing outwards. That means there have to be functions limiters to limit the spreading, and some horizontal locking mechanisms to hold the outriggers in place. Since the gear racks will be right next to each other when tucked, the place for the locking mechanisms will be very limited. I still can't figure out how the radial spreading function is implemented.
  14. I'm imagining these things about the spidercrane: - Manual superstructure rotation, with a knob. - Two concentric functions passing through the turntable, using the yellow extender and the blue 20z clutch gear. The blue gear will be at the bottom and be meshed perpendicularly with a tan 12z half gear to increase torque. One function will extend the telescopic rack, and one will control the winch. The knobs for these functions will be located in the back. - Manual crane raising with a LA. Two knobs on both sides for this. - Some kind of load is included in the set for playability.
  15. Anyone wants to venture a guess for the B model of the spider crane? I think the spider crane will have a turntable and at least 1 telescopic rack. Or even 5 racks if the outriggers use them. Maybe the B model can be some kind of concept machinery with 4 extendable tracks like the one at the back of the 42081 instruction.
  16. But it is indeed yesterday because the latest small helicopter was released just last year The name was 42064.
  17. Last year a flagship crane designed not by Markus, and this year a supercar designed not by Uwe.
  18. Lego, concept prototype producer since 2017. I'm planning to get 42092, and 8068 is on its way to me, so there are definitely gonna be comparison pictures between the two.
  19. The last rescue helicopter was 9396 in 2012, but I guess it doesnt really fit the line as it doesnt have the stereotypical red and white color scheme.
  20. I'm thinking of getting the 42030 B for this Xmas. It doesnt look too good but it's licensed and I like its building technique.
  21. @nerdsforprez I didnt know you live in Korea! Are you Korean?
